Abstract
Description
【0001】

[0033]
As described above, according to the present embodiment, since the fan drive circuit is incorporated as a part of the signal processing circuit, there is an advantage that the manufacturing cost is reduced and the maintainability at the time of circuit failure is improved.
[0034]
In the fourth embodiment described above, the structure of the cooling fan cover is the same as that of the second embodiment. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the structure of the cooling fan cover shown in the other embodiments is not limited thereto. Needless to say, a combination with the above may also be used.
[0035]
In the fourth embodiment, the fan drive circuit is incorporated in the signal processing circuit. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the fan drive circuit may be incorporated in the power supply circuit.
[0036]
In the first to fourth embodiments described above, the installation position of components functioning as a cooling fan, such as a fan blade and a duct cover, is described as being limited to the bottom surface of the optical component casing, but is limited to this position. It goes without saying that it may be another place instead of the thing.
[0037]
The projection-type display device according to the fifth embodiment is different from the projection-type display devices according to the first to fourth embodiments in that the specific noise of the fan at the operating point (air volume, pressure) of the fan required for cooling the device is different from that of the first embodiment. This is a design of the shape and size of the fan and the number of revolutions so as to be the minimum value. For example, when the cooling fan is a centrifugal fan, it is set to a value calculated by a calculation method described below.
[0038]
9A and 9B are graphs showing dimensionless ventilation performance of the centrifugal fan, in which FIG. 9A shows the dependence of the specific noise Ls on the flow coefficient φ, and FIG. 9B shows the dependence of the pressure coefficient ψ on the flow coefficient φ. When the flow coefficient is phi 0 in FIG. 9 (a), the specific noise Ls becomes minimum. Pressure coefficient at this time is [psi 0. The equations for defining the flow coefficient φ and the pressure coefficient ψ are as shown in (Equation 1) and (Equation 2).
[0039]
(Equation 7)
(Equation 8)
[0040]
Here, D is the fan blade diameter [m], B is the fan blade thickness [m], N is the rotation speed [rpm], g is the gravitational acceleration [m / s 2 ], and ρ is the density of air [kg / m 3 ]. , P is the pressure [Pa], and Q is the flow rate [m 3 / min]. FIG. 10 shows the definitions of the fan blade diameter D and the fan blade thickness B. FIG. 10B is a plan view of the
[0041]
At the pressure P 1 and the flow rate Q 1 required for cooling the device, if the shape and size of the fan and the number of revolutions are determined so that the flow coefficient φ and the pressure coefficient と become the φ 0 and 0 0 , the fan noise is reduced. Can be the smallest. Specifically, a flow coefficient φ 0 and a pressure coefficient 0 0 at which the specific noise obtained from the dimensionless air blowing performance diagram of the cooling fan is a minimum value, and a pressure P 1 and a flow rate of the cooling air required for cooling the part to be cooled. by using the Q 1, the diameter D of the fan blades, the fan thickness B, and the fan blade rotation speed N, determined by the following equation (3) to (5).
[0042]
(Equation 9)
(Equation 10)
[Equation 11]
[0043]
Here, n is a predetermined fan blade diameter D and the fan thickness ratio of B (hereinafter, referred to as wings径翼thickness ratio), P 1 is the pressure of the fans to cool the device [Pa], Q 1 is apparatus Is the air flow [m 3 / min] of the fan required for cooling, φ 0 is a flow coefficient at which the specific noise becomes a minimum value, and ψ 0 is a pressure coefficient at which the specific noise becomes a minimum value.
[0044]
When the shape and the rotation speed of the cooling fan are set to the values calculated by the above formulas, the operating point at which the specific noise shown in FIG. 9A is minimum matches the operating point required for cooling the device. Fan noise (wind noise of the fan) can be minimized, and the device can be made quieter.
[0045]
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail by applying specific numerical values. FIG. 11 shows an example of the dimensionless blowing performance of a small centrifugal fan having an outer dimension (length and width) of about 150 mm or less, which is used for cooling a projection display device. Now, assuming that an operating point required for cooling is a static pressure P 1 = 60 [Pa] and an air flow Q 1 = 0.3 [m 3 / min], and a blade diameter blade thickness ratio n = 0.5. From FIG. 11, when the flow coefficient φ and the pressure coefficient φ are φ 0 = 0.1 and = 0 = 0.18, the specific noise is minimized. Therefore, from (Equation 3) to (Equation 5), (Equation 6) ) To (Equation 8), the fan blade diameter D, the fan blade thickness B, and the fan blade rotation speed N are obtained. For the sake of simplicity, the air density ρ is set to ρ = 1.2 [kg / m 3 ], but more strictly, a correction value corresponding to the temperature and the atmospheric pressure is used.
[0046]
(Equation 12)
(Equation 13)
[Equation 14]
[0047]
From (Equations 6) to (Equation 8), if a centrifugal fan with a fan blade diameter of 65 mm and a fan blade thickness of 32.5 mm is installed in the apparatus and operated at 2212 revolutions per minute, efficient cooling and noise reduction of the apparatus can be achieved at the same time. It can be achieved.
[0048]
As another example, a design example in the case of a fan having a larger static pressure, that is, a centrifugal fan capable of obtaining a larger cooling air velocity is shown.
Now, assuming that an operating point required for cooling is a static pressure P 1 = 100 [Pa] and an air flow Q 1 = 0.3 [m 3 / min], and a blade diameter blade thickness ratio n = 0.5. From FIG. 11, when the flow coefficient φ and the pressure coefficient φ are φ 0 = 0.1 and = 0 = 0.18, the specific noise is minimized. Therefore, from (Equation 3) to (Equation 5), (Equation 9) ) To (Equation 11), the fan blade diameter D, the fan blade thickness B, and the fan blade rotation speed N are obtained. For the sake of simplicity, the air density ρ is set to ρ = 1.2 [kg / m 3 ], but more strictly, a correction value corresponding to the temperature and the atmospheric pressure is used.
[0049]
[Equation 15]
(Equation 16)
[Equation 17]
[0050]
From (Equations 9) to (Equation 11), if a centrifugal fan with a fan blade diameter of 57 mm and a fan blade thickness of 28.5 mm is installed in the apparatus and operated at 3257 revolutions per minute, a faster cooling air velocity can be obtained, and Further improvement in cooling efficiency and noise reduction can be achieved at the same time.
[0051]
In the fifth embodiment described above, the flow coefficient and the pressure coefficient at which the specific noise is just minimized are used as the design targets. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the specific noise may be approximately near the minimum value. The flow coefficient and the pressure coefficient have almost the same effect (the fan noise value does not change much from the minimum value). Here, the minimum value near the specific noise when the specific noise has a flow coefficient phi 0 as a minimum, the flow coefficient phi is, (the range of ± 50% with respect to the minimum value) range of (equation 12), more Preferably, the value is in the range of (Expression 13) (± 25% with respect to the minimum value).
[0052]
(Equation 18)
[0053]
[Equation 19]
[0054]
Further, in the first to fifth embodiments described above, a centrifugal fan is used as the cooling fan. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and an axial fan may be used. However, the centrifugal fan has the advantage that the cooling air velocity can be increased and the cooling efficiency can be improved.
[0055]
In the first to fifth embodiments described above, the cooling fan for cooling the light valve has been described. However, the cooling fan for cooling the inside of the power supply casing or the cooling fan for cooling the inside of the light source casing is similarly described. The same effect as described above can be obtained by integrating a part of the cooling fan case of the cooling fan into any of the power supply housing, the light source housing, and the exterior case.
[0056]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, at least a part of the cooling fan cover is integrated with at least one of the optical component housing and the outer case, so that the number of components constituting the cooling fan can be reduced. Therefore, cost can be reduced.
[0057]
Further, even when the optical component includes a light valve and the cooled part is a light valve, the number of components constituting the cooling fan can be reduced, and the cost can be reduced.
[0058]
Also, since at least a part of the cooling fan cover is integrated with at least one of the light source housing, the optical component housing, the power supply housing, and the exterior case, the number of components constituting the cooling fan is reduced. Can be reduced, and the cost can be reduced.
[0059]
Further, since the driving circuit of the cooling fan is incorporated in at least one of the signal processing circuit and the power supply circuit, it is possible to reduce the manufacturing cost and improve the maintenance property in the event of a circuit failure.
[0060]
In addition, at the operating point of the cooling fan required for cooling the part to be cooled, the shape and size of the cooling fan are designed so that the specific noise of the cooling fan becomes almost the minimum value. Noise can be reduced.
[0061]
Further, since the cooling fan is a centrifugal fan, a large cooling air velocity can be obtained, and the cooling efficiency can be improved.
[0062]
Furthermore, since the fan blade diameter, the fan blade thickness, and the fan blade rotation speed of the centrifugal fan are respectively obtained from the
