Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fixing / pressing roll used in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, and a facsimile.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art A fixing / pressing roll is used in an image forming apparatus such as an electrophotographic copying machine and a printer, a toner jet copying machine and a printer, and a facsimile.
[0003]
Conventional fixing / pressing rolls have high precision in outer diameter and center runout and high elasticity. Generally, a silicone rubber layer is provided on a metal core, and a sleeve made of a fluororesin is provided thereon. Which are vulcanized and adhered.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, since the fixing / pressing roll has a built-in heater in the metal core and is heated to a high temperature of 280 to 300 ° C., there is a problem in the durability of adhesion between the silicone rubber layer and the fluororesin sleeve. there were.
[0005]
In view of such circumstances, an object of the present invention is to provide a fixing / pressing roll excellent in adhesion durability at a high temperature of 280 to 300 ° C.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A first aspect of the present invention that solves the above problem includes an elastic layer provided on a metal core and a fluororesin sleeve provided on the surface, and at least the fluororesin sleeve of the elastic layer A fixing / pressing roll in which a surface layer to be contacted is made of a silicone rubber layer and the silicone rubber layer and the fluororesin sleeve are adhered with a silane coupling type vulcanizing adhesive; The fixing / pressing roll is characterized in that the adhesive contains tetraethyl silicate and alkoxy titanate.
[0007]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the silane-coupling-based vulcanizing adhesive contains 7% by weight or more of tetraethylsilicate and 0.5% by weight or more, preferably 2% by weight or more of an alkoxy titanate. The fixing / pressing roll is characterized in that it contains not less than 10% by weight.
[0008]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided the fixing / pressure roll according to the first or second aspect, wherein the silicone rubber layer has an extraction amount of hexane of 15% by weight or less, preferably 14% or less. is there.
[0009]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in any one of the first to third aspects, the thermal conductivity of the elastic layer is 0.42 W / m · K or more, preferably 0.45 W / m · K or more. The fixing / pressure roll is characterized in that:
[0010]
In the present invention, since the silicone rubber layer and the fluororesin sleeve are vulcanized and bonded by the silane coupling vulcanizing adhesive containing tetraethylsilicate and alkoxytitanate, the adhesive layer is excellent in high-temperature durability.
[0011]
The fixing / pressing roll of the present invention has a silicone rubber layer directly on the metal core through another rubber layer, but it is preferable to provide the silicone rubber layer directly on the core.
[0012]
The fixing / pressing roll of the present invention has a surface layer in which a silane coupling type vulcanizing adhesive is applied to the inner peripheral surface as a vulcanizing adhesive, and is disposed in a mold, and an elastic layer is provided between the surface layer and the metal core. Manufactured by integrally molding the layers.
[0013]
In the present invention, the elastic layer preferably has a rubber hardness of 15 ° or less according to JIS A. This is because the characteristics as a fixing / pressing roll are satisfied.
[0014]
The thermal conductivity of the elastic layer is 0.42 W / m · K or more, preferably 0.45 W / m · K. This is because heat from the metal core is effectively transmitted to the surface layer.
[0015]
As the sleeve member forming the surface layer, a fluorine-based resin sleeve is used. This is because it is preferable to form the layer with a high release property. Here, examples of the fluorine-based resin include PVDF, PTFE, PFA, ETFE and the like and derivatives thereof. The manufacturing method is not particularly limited, and is formed by, for example, extrusion molding. The surface roughness Rz of the fluororesin sleeve is preferably 5 μm or less.
[0016]
In the present invention, by using such a fluorine-based resin sleeve member having a high release property, there is an effect that surface polishing and surface coating can be eliminated.
[0017]
In the fixing / pressing roll of the present invention, adhesion between the silicone rubber layer on the elastic layer and the fluorine resin sleeve as the surface layer is performed by a silane coupling type vulcanizing adhesive containing tetraethylsilicate and alkoxy titanate. Bond with sulfuric acid. Since such a silane coupling type vulcanized adhesive contains an alkoxy titanate, it has an effect that the adhesive layer has excellent high-temperature durability. The silane-coupling-based vulcanizing adhesive is obtained by adding an additive to tetraethyl silicate as a main component as needed and dissolving it in a solvent. Here, tetraethyl silicate is generally contained in the silane coupling-based vulcanizing adhesive in an amount of 7% by weight or more, preferably 10% by weight or more. Further, in the present invention, an alkoxy titanate is added as an additive to the silane coupling-based vulcanized adhesive. The addition amount of the alkoxy titanate is preferably 0.5% by weight or more, more preferably 2% by weight or more in the silane-coupling-based vulcanizing adhesive, and is preferably about 7 to 50% by weight based on tetraethylsilicate. It is preferably added.
[0018]
When such a silane coupling type vulcanized adhesive is used, the durability at a high temperature of 280 to 300 ° C. is excellent, but in order to further improve the durability, the hexane extraction amount of the silicone rubber layer is 15% or less. It is preferred that
[0019]
Here, the hexane extraction amount refers to a value measured according to JIS K6229 except that the extraction amount after immersion in hexane at room temperature for 24 hours is obtained.
[0020]
If the amount of extraction is larger than this, the heat resistance may decrease, possibly due to the oily components leaching into the bonding interface due to the use at high temperatures. Since the amount of such hexane extraction depends on the low molecular components of the silicone rubber layer, the raw polymer base polymer may be heated in advance to volatilize the low molecular components.
[0021]
FIG. 1 shows an example of the fixing / pressing roll described above. As shown in FIG. 1, the fixing / pressing
