本発明は、携帯電話やPHSなどの移動体通信システムに用いられる携帯電話機に関し、特に、個人認証により不正使用を防止する個人認証機能付き携帯電話機に関する。

【従来の技術】
近年、その利便性から普及が著しい携帯電話機は、データ通信機能の搭載により、電子メールの送受信からインターネットショッピングまで、多機能化が進んでいる。物品購入や振込などの電子決済処理が携帯電話機から簡単な操作で行えるようになる一方で、他人の携帯電話機を使用して本来の所有者になりすます不正使用が社会的問題となっている。

携帯電話機の使用者の認証方法として、従来は、キーボードから入力されたパスワードを照合する方法が一般的であった。以下に従来の個人認証機能付き携帯電話機の一例について説明する。

図14は、従来の個人認証機能付き携帯電話機の一例の外観を示す斜視図である。携帯電話機200は、主に、電話番号などの各種文字情報を表示する表示部21、電話番号やパスワードの入力などを行うキーボード22、音声を出力するスピーカ23、音声を入力するマイク24、送受話および情報の送受信を無線で行う後述する無線部25のアンテナ25a、で構成されている。

図15は、図14に示した従来の個人認証機能付き携帯電話機の電気的構成を示すブロック図である。表示部21、キーボード22、スピーカ23、マイク24、無線部25は、電話の発呼や着呼などの制御を行う電話部26と接続している。キーボード22から入力した内容や受信した情報などは表示部21に表示され、電話の受話や送話などはスピーカ23やマイク24を通じて行われる。また、電話部26は、無線部25を介してダイヤル情報や通信情報を無線信号で送受信する。電話部26は、電話番号やパスワード、音声などの情報を記憶する情報記憶部27とも接続している。電源部28は、上記の各部に電力を供給する。

次に、図16は、図14に示した従来の個人認証機能付き携帯電話機における個人認証動作の流れを示すフローチャートである。まず、使用者が携帯電話機200の電源を投入すると(ステップS701)、電源部28から各部へ電力が供給され、各部が動作を開始する。次に、パスワードの入力を促すメッセージが表示部21に表示されるので(ステップS702)、使用者がキーボード22からパスワードを入力すると(ステップS703)、入力されたパスワードが情報記憶部27に予め登録されているパスワードと比較、照合される(ステップS704)。次に、入力されたパスワードが情報記憶部27に予め登録されているパスワードと一致しているか否かの判定が行われる(ステップS705)。ステップS705で、入力されたパスワードが不一致ならばステップS702に戻って、使用者はパスワードを再度入力する。一方、入力されたパスワードが一致していれば正当な使用者と判定され、個人認証が終了して(ステップS706)、携帯電話機200の利用が可能となる(ステップS707)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上述したような従来の携帯電話機200における個人認証方法では、生年月日などの簡単な数字列をパスワードとして設定している場合や、入力時の操作を見られてしまった場合などには、悪意のある他人が簡単に不正使用できてしまうという課題があった。例えば、パスワードの桁数を多くするという対策も考えられるが、パスワード忘れや入力誤りなどの問題が生じるため、根本的な解決にはなっていなかった。

また、前述の通り携帯電話機が多機能化し、電子決済などが可能になると、これまでのパスワードによる認証だけでは不十分で、使用形態に応じたセキュリティレベルの設定が必要となっている。

そこで、本発明は、このような実情に鑑みてなされたものであり、使用形態に応じたセキュリティレベルの設定を行うことができる個人認証機能付き携帯電話機を提供することを目的とする。

請求項1に係る個人認証機能付き携帯電話機は、複数の個人認証方法から少なくとも1つの個人認証方法を選択し、当該選択された個人認証方法を記憶する認証方法選択記憶部と、前記認証方法選択記憶部に記憶された前記個人認証方法に用いられる入力情報を記憶する情報記憶部と、前記情報記憶部に記憶された前記入力情報から特徴情報を認証情報として抽出する特徴抽出部と、予め使用者の特徴情報を記録する特徴記録部と、前記特徴記録部に予め記録された前記特徴情報と、前記特徴抽出部により抽出された前記認証情報とを比較することにより使用者の個人認証を行う特徴認証部と、を備えたことを特徴とする。

以下、本発明に係る個人認証機能付き携帯電話機の好ましい実施の形態について、図面を用いて詳細に説明する。なお、実施の形態を説明するための全図において、同一機能を有する部位は同一符号を付与し、説明は繰り返さないこととする。

(実施の形態1)
図1は、本発明の実施の形態1における個人認証機能付き携帯電話機の外観を示す斜視図である。個人認証機能付き携帯電話機100は、主に、電話番号などの各種文字情報や画像情報などを表示する表示部1、電話番号やパスワードの入力などを行うキーボード2、音声を出力するスピーカ3、音声を入力するマイク4、送受話および情報の送受信を無線で行う後述する無線部5のアンテナ5a、画像を入力するカメラ6、で構成されている。
