本発明は原稿読取装置及び該原稿読取装置を有する画像形成装置に関し、特に原稿搬送装置により多数枚の原稿を一枚ずつ露光位置に搬送し、露光位置を通過する原稿の画像を読み取る原稿読取装置及びかかる原稿読取装置を有する画像形成装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
原稿搬送装置により原稿を露光位置に搬送し、該露光位置を通過する原稿の画像を読み取る原稿読取装置が広く使用されている。かかる原稿読取装置では、前記露光位置に露光窓を設け、照明された原稿からの反射像光を前記露光窓を通して読取手段に導入して読取を行い、原稿を搬送しつつ読取を行っている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
前記露光窓は透明なガラス板で構成されるが、該ガラス板は読取において原稿と接触し又は近接しているために、紙粉等が付着しやすく汚れやすい。

前記ガラス板の汚れによって、再生される画像の画質に対して悪影響があるという問題がある。特開平10−133299号公報では、前記ガラス板の汚れを防止するために前記ガラス板に原稿を接触させないで原稿を搬送し、読み取ることが提案されている。しかしながら、前記公開公報におけるような汚れ防止手段では、不十分であり前記ガラス板に紙粉等の汚れが付着して、画質を損ねることを防止することができない。

本発明の目的は、原稿読取装置における前記のような問題を解決することにあり、常に鮮明な画像を再生することを可能にする原稿読取装置及びかかる原稿読取装置を有する画像形成装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記の本発明の目的は、以下の(1)〜(11)の何れかによって達成される。
(1)原稿を積載する給紙トレイと、
前記給紙トレイ上の原稿を給紙する送り出し手段と、
前記送り出し手段から給紙された原稿を分離し搬送する分離手段と、
駆動ローラ、および、前記駆動ローラよりも静電吸着力が大きい材料からなる従動ローラを有し、前記分離手段で分離された原稿を露光位置に搬送するレジストローラと、
前記露光位置を通過する原稿からの像光を透過する露光窓と、
前記露光窓を介して原稿の画像を読み取って電気信号に変換する読取手段と、
前記従動ローラに接触してクリーニングするクリーニング手段とを設けたことを特徴とする原稿読取装置。
(2)前記クリーニング手段が、前記従動ローラの静電吸着力以上の静電吸着力を有する材料からなることを特徴とする前記(1)に記載の原稿読取装置。
(3)前記クリーニング手段が、前記原稿読取装置の開放可能な箇所に設けられたことを特徴とする前記(1)又は前記(2)に記載の原稿読取装置。

(5)前記レジストローラは、駆動ローラと従動ローラとからなり、前記クリーニング手段は、前記従動ローラに接触してクリーニングすることを特徴とする前記(4)に記載の原稿読取装置。
(6)前記クリーニング手段が、着脱可能に取り付けられたことを特徴とする前記(1)乃至(5)の何れかに記載の原稿読取装置。
(7)前記レジストローラは、前記送り出し手段に対して、原稿搬送方向に直角な方向に関してほぼ同一な位置を包含するように配置されていることを特徴とする前記(1)乃至(6)の何れかに記載の原稿読取装置。
(8)前記レジストローラは、前記分離手段に対して、原稿搬送方向に直角な方向に関してほぼ同一な位置を包含するように配置されていることを特徴とする前記(1)乃至(7)の何れかに記載の原稿読取装置。
(9)前記駆動ローラが下ローラであり、前記従動ローラが上ローラであることを特徴とする前記(1)乃至(3)、(5)の何れかに記載の原稿読取装置。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1により本発明の実施の形態に係る原稿読取装置を説明する。図1は本発明の実施の形態に係る画像形成装置の原稿読取装置の部分の断面図である。

原稿読取装置は原稿搬送装置2と読取部を有し、原稿搬送装置2は、図示のように、画像形成装置の機枠1に取付けられている。原稿搬送装置2の一部には、若干給紙方向に傾斜した状態で原稿Pを積載する積載手段である給紙トレイ3が設けられている。

反転ローラ31Aは、原稿Pの搬送時には反転ローラ31Bと接触しているが、2枚の原稿Pが互いに擦れ違いできる間隔で離間出来るように構成されている。反転ローラ31A、31Bは原稿Pの後端部が該ローラの近傍に達した時点で回転方向を逆転して右方向に搬送されてきた原稿Pを左方向に搬送する。2本の腕を有する切換案内部材11は原稿Pをレジストローラ8,9から両面用搬送路に案内する段階では一点鎖線で示す位置にあるが、原稿Pを前記両面用搬送路から搬送路20に案内する段階では実線で示す位置に移動している。一対の搬送ローラ21、22を設けて露光位置Rに原稿Pを搬送し、更に露光位置Rに搬送された原稿Pがプラテンローラ23と露光窓を構成する透明なスリットガラス24間で挟持されながら搬送されるように構成される。露光位置を通過する原稿Pに対して照射光が照射ランプ25で照射され、原稿からの反射光がミラー26で反射されレンズQを介してCCDからなる読取手段である読取素子Tへ導かれ、読取素子Tで電気信号に変換されて読取が行われる。照明ランプ25、ミラー26、レンズQ及び読取素子Tは原稿読取装置の読取部を構成する。

前記のように2枚目の原稿Pの先端が反転ローラ31A、31Bの位置に搬送され、一枚目の原稿Pの後端が反転ローラ31A、31B内にあっても反転ローラ31A、31Bが互いに離間しているため、2枚目の原稿Pの先端が1枚目の原稿Pの後端と接触しながらも円滑に反転部18に搬送される。

前記のクリーニング手段を設ける場所はレジストローラ8、9に限られず、ピックアップローラ4、分離ローラ6、捌きローラ7、搬送ローラ21、22等の、画像読取露光位置Rの上流にある搬送手段の回転体の任意に一つ以上に設けることが好ましく、特にスリットガラス24に近い回転体に取り付けた方が、スリットガラス24の汚れをより一層長期間に亘って防止することができる。
