【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記の通り、従来の丸札1は紐2でケーブルに結び付けて固定する。この紐2の長さは、種々のケーブル径に対応できるように、また結ぶ作業がし易いようにある程度長くするが、紐2が他の丸札や他のケーブルと絡むことを防ぐために、通常、丸札1を保持するためのホルダ(ないし治具)を設け、このホルダに各丸札1を保持している。このホルダによって各丸札1を整然と保持できるが、一方で、ホルダのスペースが必要となるので、機器のコンパクト化の要求に対応するためにはホルダを用いない方法が望ましい。特に、管理するケーブルの数が増えると、ホルダのスペースを不要とすることが望まれる。

上記の丸札1を用いた場合に必要となるホルダを不要とするため、本願出願人は先に、情報を書き込んだバーコード等のシールを表面に貼り付けた小さなプラスチック成形品である識別管理用のタグ(長尺物識別具)を発明し特許出願をした(特願2002−203193号)。このタグは、そのプラスチック弾性を利用してケーブルに横から直接、緊密に嵌め込んで取り付けるという、緊密嵌合構造である。このタグは、紐を用いないので、紐が絡まることを防ぐホルダ等は不要であり、またそれ自体サイズも小さいので場所を占めず、機器のコンパクト化の制約とならない。
