ここで、カード基材20は、188μm厚の白PET(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)を使用した。
【0014】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for identifying a magnetic card, and more particularly to a method for identifying a magnetic card having a forgery / falsification prevention function.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, magnetic cards have been used as prepaid cards and the like in various fields. Generally, in this type of card, a magnetic recording layer is provided on a part or the entire surface of a plastic film substrate, and necessary information is magnetically recorded on the magnetic recording layer, and the information is read out by a reading device for processing. However, conventionally, in this type of magnetic card, there has been a problem of fraudulent act of falsifying magnetic recording information and making it usable again by using a used or low-remaining card.
[0003]
For this reason, in recent years, a magnetic barcode combining a ferrite material having a relatively high magnetic permeability or a metal magnetic material and a nonmagnetic material is provided as security, and when reading this magnetic barcode with a magnetic head, a bias current is applied to the magnetic head. And a bar from which an output is obtained is set to "1", and a bar from which an output is not obtained is set to "0", a pattern is obtained from the output waveform, and this pattern is confirmed, and the authenticity is determined.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, even if such an identification method is adopted, only one type of output pattern can be obtained from the magnetic barcode, so that forgery / falsification cannot be completely prevented.
[0005]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a magnetic card identification method which eliminates the above-mentioned disadvantages, prevents forgery and tampering, and has high security.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, in a magnetic card provided with a magnetic recording layer made of a magnetic material on a substrate serving as a support, the magnetic card has a magnetic barcode on a magnetic surface or a printing surface or both surfaces, and the magnetic barcode A magnetic card identification method utilizing the fact that the relative peak output ratio of the magnetic barcode changes by changing the value of the bias current applied to the magnetic head when reading with a magnetic head. .
[0007]
According to the invention, the bias current value applied to the magnetic head is recorded as magnetic data on the magnetic recording layer of the magnetic card, and the specified bias current value is obtained by magnetic recording / reproducing. By applying a bias current value to the magnetic head, an identification method for identifying the pattern of the magnetic bar code is obtained.
[0008]
Further, according to the present invention, a bias current value to be used next time is randomly selected from a plurality of bias setting values specified in advance and recorded on the magnetic recording layer of the magnetic card. At the time of use, a method of identifying a magnetic barcode pattern using this as a bias current designated for reading is obtained.
[0009]
Therefore, according to the present invention, when the magnetic barcode is read by a magnetic head, a bias current specified by magnetic recording information is applied to the reading system, and a barcode pattern unique to the bias current is read. It is characterized in that the authenticity of the magnetic card is determined.
[0010]
In other words, utilizing the fact that the relative peak output ratio of the barcode output changes according to the bias current value, the authenticity of the magnetic card is identified by comparing the bias current with the barcode pattern. Is obtained.
[0011]
It should be noted that the relative peak output ratio indicates a ratio between the output on the positive side and the output on the negative side of the output waveform. The sign is determined by the polarity of the magnetic head and the current direction, and is not an absolute thing peculiar to the card.
Relative peak output ratio = V0 + p / V0-p

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
A method for identifying a magnetic card according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described below.
[0013]
(Embodiment 1)
FIG. 1 is a plan view of a magnetic card used in the magnetic card identification method according to the first embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a sectional view of the magnetic card of FIG. Here, as the card substrate 20, white PET (polyethylene terephthalate) having a thickness of 188 μm was used.
[0014]
The magnetic recording layer 21 is prepared by adding a urethane-based resin and a solvent such as toluene and MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) to Ba ferrite powder having a coercive force of 2750 Oe, mixing with stirring, adjusting the thickness to 8 μm by gravure printing, and coating and drying. It was produced. The magnetic barcode layer 22 was formed by screen printing after adding a urethane resin and toluene to magnetite powder having a coercive force of 10 Oe, stirring and mixing.
[0015]
Here, the dummy barcode layer 23 was formed by screen printing after adding a urethane-based resin and toluene to glass beads having no coercive force, stirring and mixing. The barcode thickness was adjusted to be 8 μm in dry thickness, and the barcode was prepared by coating and drying. The width of the barcode was set to 0.1 mm. The concealing layer (silver layer) 24 was prepared by gravure printing so as to have a dry thickness of 2 μm, followed by coating and drying. The protective layer (UV curing varnish) 25 was prepared by setting the cured thickness to 1 μm and applying and curing by offset printing. These layers were laminated to obtain a magnetic card according to the first embodiment of the present invention.
[0016]
Here, the contents of the magnetic card identification method will be described. Consider reading a magnetic barcode of a magnetic card manufactured with the above-mentioned contents using a magnetic head. When applying a bias current to the coil on one side of the magnetic head in advance and using the induced electromotive force generated in the coil on the opposite side as the output of the magnetic bar code, the magnetic card is measured by a certain measurement system. In this case, the relationship between the bias current and the relative peak output value is adjusted as shown in FIG.
[0017]
In this case, the relative peak output value is 1.0 when the bias current is 2 mA, 1.5 when it is 6 mA, and 2.0 when it is 10 mA.
[0018]
FIG. 4 is an output waveform diagram of the magnetic barcode layer in the magnetic card of the present invention when the bias current is 2 mA. FIG. 5 is a graph showing the output waveform of the magnetic barcode layer in the magnetic card of the present invention when the bias current is 6 mA. FIG. 6 is an output waveform diagram of the magnetic barcode layer in the magnetic card of the present invention when the bias current is 10 mA.
[0019]
As shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, three slice levels are provided on the V0 + p side and the V0-p side, and when the barcode pattern is measured, the following slice levels are obtained for each bias current value. A magnetic barcode pattern is obtained.
[0020]
[Table 1]
[0021]
As described above, even with one type of barcode, by adjusting the bias current value and the slice level in a certain measurement system, the barcode may or may not be obtained as an output, and the same bias current value may be obtained. However, a situation can be created in which the pattern obtained on the V0 + p side and the pattern obtained on the V0-p side are different. It is the content of claim 1 that utilizes this to identify a magnetic card.
[0022]
(Embodiment 2)
A method for identifying a magnetic card according to the second embodiment of the present invention will be described. The method for identifying a magnetic card according to the second embodiment of the present invention is based on the bias current value set in the measurement system on the magnetic recording layer of the magnetic card. The bias current value flowing through the magnetic head for measuring the magnetic card when used and the bar code pattern recognized in the case of the bias current were recorded, and the authenticity of the card was obtained from the magnetic recording information and the information. This is performed by comparison with a magnetic barcode reading pattern at a bias current value.
[0023]
(Embodiment 3)
A method for identifying a magnetic card according to the third embodiment of the present invention will be described. In the magnetic card identification method according to the third embodiment of the present invention, the magnetic information at the next reading recorded on the magnetic recording layer of the second embodiment is obtained by setting a plurality of bias currents set in advance at the previous reading. The values are randomly selected from the values (three types of 2, 6, and 10 mA in the example described in the present embodiment) and recorded, and are repeated in combination with the second embodiment.
[0024]
Although the embodiment of the present power generation has been described using three types of slice levels of three types of bias current values, the present invention is not limited to this, and any condition can be used as long as waveform pattern recognition can be separated. Any kind of bias current value or slice level may be used. In the present embodiment, the slice level is set on the V0 + p side and the V0-p side. However, the slice level is not necessarily required, and security is improved by making the slice level more complicated. Note that the relative peak output value varies depending on the circuit of the measurement system and the type of magnetic head, and also greatly affects the width of the barcode, the material of the barcode, and the traveling speed. Be careful.
[0025]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the relative peak output value of the magnetic barcode output is changed by changing the bias current value supplied to the magnetic head for measuring the magnetic barcode, and the V0 + p side and the V0− A different magnetic barcode pattern can be recognized on the p-side, and the magnetic barcode pattern recognition works in conjunction with magnetic information magnetically recorded on the magnetic layer. It has become possible to provide a magnetic card identification method having higher security than that of a normal magnetic card.
