従来、光通信システムにおいては、図9に示すように、光ファイバ通信網の局側に設置された終端装置であるOLT(Optical Line Terminal)3がスターカプラ5及び光ファイバを介して、光ファイバ通信網のユーザ側に設置された終端装置であるONU4a〜4nに接続されている。

上記の通信システムについては、ITU−T(International Telecommunication Union−Telecommunication standardization sectot) G.983に規定されており、予め各ONU4a〜4nに個体番号を設定しておくことで、各ONU4a〜4nの認識を行い、また各ONU4a〜4nまでの距離を正確に把握することが可能となることで信号導通を行っている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上述した従来の光通信システムでは、予め各ONUに個体番号を設定しているので、個体番号の管理や検査、あるいは誤設定の可能性があり、各ONUへ予め個体番号を設定する必要がないならば、この問題が発生することはない。

そこで、本発明の目的は上記の問題点を解消し、予め行われる各ONUへの個体番号の設定を不要とすることができる光通信システム及びそれに用いる個体番号自動変更方法を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明による光通信システムは、OLT(Optical Line Terminal)と複数のONU(Optical Network Unit)とが光ファイバを介して接続される光通信システムであって、個体番号をランダムに発生する手段と、前記個体番号を前記OLTに送信する手段とを前記複数のONU各々に備えている。

本発明による個体番号自動変更方法は、OLT(Optical Line Terminal)と複数のONU(Optical Network Unit)とが光ファイバを介して接続される光通信システムの個体番号自動変更方法であって、個体番号をランダムに発生するステップと、前記個体番号を前記OLTに送信するステップとを前記複数のONU各々に備えている。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に、本発明の実施例について図面を参照して説明する。図1は本発明の一実施例によるOLT(Optical Line Terminal)の構成を示すブロック図である。図1において、OLT1は光ファイバ通信網の局側に設置された終端装置であり、OLT光送受信部11と、OLT PON(Passive Optical Network)制御部12と、OLT個体番号自動変更部13とから構成されている。

OLT光送受信部11は図示せぬONU(Optical Network Unit)との光信号の受信及び送信を行う。OLTPON制御部12はITU−T G.983の制御を行う。OLT個体番号自動変更部13は各ONUの個体番号を自動変更するための機能を具備している。

図2は本発明の一実施例によるONUの構成を示すブロック図である。図2において、ONU2は光ファイバ通信網のユーザ側に設置された終端装置であり、ONU光送受信部21と、ONU PON制御部22と、ONU個体番号自動変更部23とから構成されている。

OLT1のOLT個体番号自動変更部13では、OLT上りメッセージ終端部131にて各ONU2から応答された上りメッセージ中の個体番号を認識する(図5ステップS2,S3)。この時、同じ個体番号のものがあると、OLT上りメッセージ終端部131ではそれを認識することができないが、応答があったことは認識可能であるので、その結果を個体番号変更指示部132へ出力する。個体番号変更指示部132は下りメッセージにてONU2の個体番号の自動変更の指示信号をOLT下りメッセージ生成部133に出力する(図5ステップS4)。

各ONU2のONU個体番号自動変更部23では、ONU下りメッセージ終端部231がその指示信号を受信すると(図6ステップS15)、個体番号自動発生部232へランダムにて個体番号を生成する指示信号を出力し、個体番号自動発生部232が新たな個体番号をランダムに発生する(図6ステップS16)。個体番号自動発生部232でランダムに発生された新たな個体番号は個体番号保持部234に記録される(図6ステップS17)。

OLT1のOLT個体番号自動変更部13では、再度、OLT個体番号変更指示部132から各ONU2の持っている個体番号をバイナリサーチにて取得するための応答指示信号をOLT下りメッセージ生成部16に出力することで、応答指示信号が下りメッセージとして、接続されているすべてのONU2へ送信される(図5ステップS1)。

上記の処理を繰返し行うことで、最終的にはすべてのONU2に異なる個体番号が自動的に付与されることになる。OLT1のOLT個体番号自動変更部13では同一個体番号がなくなると(図5ステップS5)、個体番号認識部134にてすべてのONU2の個体番号が認識可能となり、接続されているすべてのONU2の個体番号が個体番号保持テーブル部135に保持される(図5ステップS6)。

これによって、OLT1ではITU−T G.983の制御を行うことが可能となるので、予め各ONU2への個体番号の設定が不要となり、ONU2の個体番号を設定することができる。

以上説明したように本発明は、OLTと複数のONUとが光ファイバを介して接続される光通信システムにおいて、前記複数のONU各々が、個体番号をランダムに発生し、その個体番号をOLTに送信することによって、予め行われる各ONUへの個体番号の設定を不要とすることができるという効果が得られる。
