そのため、例えば、インターネット上で配布されているコンテンツが、違法なものかを検出する必要があり、このような用途のためにコンテンツ照合システムが使用される。

従来のコンテンツ照合技術では、図13に示すように、コンテンツ照合システム1が、インターネット2に接続された各ウェブサーバ(5a〜5c)のホームページ(以下、単に、HPという。)に掲載されたコンテンツを、HPに設定されたリンクをたどって検索して、コンテンツをダウンロードして照合する方法がとられていた。
しかしながら、従来の方法では、HPに掲載されたコンテンツであればダウンロードして照合可能であるが、インターネットに接続されているパーソナルコンピュータ(以下、単に、PCという。)に格納されているコンテンツを、他のインターネットに接続されたPCが検索して、直接ダウンロードするP2P通信方式のように、PC相互間で直接コンテンツを送受する方式では、送受されているコンテンツを照合することは困難であるという問題点があった。

本発明は、前記従来技術の問題点を解決するためになされたものであり、本発明の目的は、コンテンツ照合サーバにおいて、P2P通信方式で送受されるコンテンツを照合すること、および、登録されたコンテンツIDあるいはコンテンツの特徴が検出された場合、電子メールあるいはHPにより照合依頼者に通知することが可能となる技術を提供することにある。
また、本発明の他の目的は、本発明のコンテンツ照合サーバを用いるコンテンツ照合システムを提供することにある。
本発明の前記ならびにその他の目的と新規な特徴は、本明細書の記述及び添付図面によって明らかにする。

本願において開示される発明のうち、代表的なものの概要を簡単に説明すれば、下記の通りである。

本発明のコンテンツ照合システム1は、システム内のサーバに、複数のP2P通信ソフトウェアをサーバに格納しておき、このソフトウェアを順次起動して、インターネット2に接続されるとともに照合対象のコンテンツを保持していると考えられる各PC(3a〜3c)を検索し、当該PCからコンテンツをダウンロードして、電子透かしとして埋め込まれているコンテンツIDあるいはコンテンツの特徴をチェックするものである。

図2は、本発明の実施の形態のコンテンツ照合システムの全体構成を示すブロック図である。
本実施の形態のコンテンツ照合システム1は、ウェブサーバ10と、照合サーバ11と、オペレータ端末13とを備え、これらはLAN12により相互に接続されるとともに、ゲートウェイ14を介してインターネット2に接続される。

オペレータ端末13は、照合サーバ11ヘの顧客情報、コンテンツ番号、コンテンツID,コンテンツ特徴などを入力するための端末である。また、コンテンツ照合の結果、一致が検出されれば、その結果も表示される。

また、電子透かしによるコンテンツID抽出によるコンテンツID照合だけでなく、コンテンツの特徴量による照合も可能なため、コンテンツIDが埋め込まれていないコンテンツに関しても違法配布を検出することが可能になる。
さらに、P2Pソフトを登録して順次これを起動してコンテンツをダウンロードする構成のため、新規のP2Pソフトが開発された場合、このソフトを照合サーバ11のP2Pソフト格納部103に新たに格納することで、新規P2P通信ソフトによる違法配布にも容易に対処可能となる。

前記ダウンロードしたコンテンツに埋め込まれている電子透かしを抽出して、コンテンツIDを読み取る第4の手段と、
前記第4の手段で読みとったコンテンツIDと、前記第2の手段に格納されているコンテンツIDとを照合する第5の手段とを備えることを特徴とするコンテンツ照合サーバ。A content collation server connected to the Internet for collating content transmitted and received by a P2P communication method,
