【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記特開平8−184888号公報の方法ではカメラ側面に赤外光に依る接続手段を設けて外部の入出力機器との接続をしており、接続状態では通信線や接続端子がじゃまになってカメラを把持して構えることが困難であり、また接続端子が抜けないようにロック機構も必要となるなど、実質的に通信状態での他のカメラ機能、例えば撮影動作などは出来ないという不便さが生じる。

他方、特開2001−33852公報の場合もLEDに依る光接続部は多少の力で引っ張られた場合でも外れないような特段の取り付け構造が要求され、例えばネジ込み式の接続やロック機構付での接続とならざるを得ない。更に外部ストロボ、ライトを保持する手段が防水カメラハウジングにないので可変アームなどの別の取り付け部材に取り付けるか、常に手で持っていなければならないという不便さがある。

そこで本発明の課題はこのような問題点を解決し、電気的接点の無い光学的通信接続により、外部機器を取り付けた状態でも撮影動作が容易に行え、雨中での外部機器との良好な通信も可能であり、水中での撮影や接写での撮影でも、カメラ内ファインダーが蹴られことなく使用でき、調整の煩わしさがない確実なストロボ発光が可能で、外部機器を防水カメラに必ずしも直接装着する必要が無く、様々な機器との接続が可能な信頼性、コスト、防水性に優れた防水カメラを提供することを目的とする。

以下図に基づき当発明実施例の構成・作用を説明する。図1は防水カメラ本体1に外部機器の1例として、GPS機器2をカメラ1の取り付け手段であるアクセサリーシュー部1eに取り付けた状態の正面図である。カメラの構成部として、レンズ鏡胴1a、ファインダー、ストロボセンサーなどの前面窓1b、ストロボ窓1c、レリーズボタン1d、アクセサリーシュー1eがある。GPS機器2の不図示のアンテナは、カメラ上面に配置可能である。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように、請求項1によれば、アクセサリーシューに外部機器を保持固定出来るので、カメラを把持する場合に外部機器がじゃまにならず、外部機器を取り付けた状態でも撮影動作などが容易に行え、且つ外部機器との通信接続を電気接点無しで行うので、防水性を求められる雨中でも外部機器との通信が可能となる。
