Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus in which an inertia member shorter than an image forming width is arranged inside an image carrier.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Speed fluctuations and vibrations of the photoreceptor in the image forming apparatus appear as pitch unevenness in the sub-scanning direction, and greatly affect image quality. The cause of the speed fluctuation is a process (a cleaning blade, a charging roller, a developing roller, a transfer roller, or the like) acting in contact with the photoconductor, or a vibration of the photoconductor drive system.
[0003]
Therefore, as a method of suppressing the speed fluctuation and vibration of the photoconductor, a flywheel is provided on the photoconductor drive shaft, the vibration is prevented by putting a weight inside the photoconductor, and the moment of inertia of the photoconductor itself is increased. Has been proposed.
[0004]
For example, there is a method in which a weight is manufactured by inexpensive die-casting and secondary processing, and is then bonded to the inside of the photoreceptor with high precision. Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. H11-282309 proposes to prevent deformation of the photoconductor at the time of bonding.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, even with the above proposal, it is difficult to keep the gap between the weight and the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor uniform over the entire circumferential direction. Therefore, the weight is fixed at a position where the weight is biased after bonding, and the center of gravity moves. When the photosensitive drum is rotated in such a state, a large shake occurs, and the photosensitive drum cannot be rotated smoothly. If the photosensitive drum rotates with a large swing, it will affect other processes acting in contact with the photosensitive member.
[0006]
For example, when a cleaning blade is used, the contact state of the blade tip changes in the circumferential direction, causing abnormal wear of the blade tip and causing chipping or turning of the blade, resulting in poor cleaning. Further, even when a charging roller or a transfer roller is used, the contact state of each roller becomes unstable, and image defects such as uneven charging and missing transfer occur.
[0007]
As described above, when the weight is inserted into the photosensitive drum and bonded and fixed, there is an effect of the deflection due to the movement of the center of gravity of the photosensitive drum itself, and therefore, some measures are required also on the process side which comes into contact with the photosensitive drum. .
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention is directed to solving the above-described problems. Even if the center of gravity of a photoconductor drum is changed by incorporating a weight to prevent vibration and speed fluctuation, the effect of a process acting in contact with the photoconductor drum is affected. And to enable good image formation.
For this purpose, according to the first aspect of the present invention, in an image forming apparatus using an image carrier having an inertia member shorter than the image forming width mounted inside the image carrier base, a contact member contacting an outer surface of the image carrier is used. The pressure is different between a portion where the inertia member is provided and a portion where the inertia member is not provided.
The invention according to claim 2 is characterized in that the contact member is a cleaning blade, and the contact pressure of the cleaning blade in a portion where the inertia member is located is reduced.
The invention according to claim 3 is characterized in that the contact member is a roller, and the roller diameter of a portion where the inertia member is present is reduced.
The invention according to claim 4 is characterized in that the contact member is a roller, and the hardness is changed between a portion where the inertia member is provided and a portion where the inertia member is not provided.
The invention according to claim 5 is characterized in that the contact member is a roller, and the elastic modulus is changed between a portion where the inertia member is provided and a portion where the inertia member is not provided.
[0009]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram illustrating an image forming apparatus of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating a photosensitive drum of the present invention.
The photoreceptor 1 has a weight 2 as an inertia member mounted therein. The weight is attached with a length shorter than the image forming width, that is, shorter than the shortest contact width of the contact members that contact the photoconductor 1 (FIG. 2). The charging roller 3 contacts the photosensitive member 1 to uniformly charge the surface, and the electrostatic latent image generated by the image exposure contacts the developing roller 4a of the developing unit 4 to be developed with toner. The toner is transferred to the recording paper by the roller 5, and the transfer residual toner is removed by the cleaning blade 6.
[0010]
The photoconductor 1 with the weight mounted thereon vibrates or fluctuates when the center of gravity moves due to the weight. In this embodiment, as described below, the contact pressure of the contact member that contacts the photoconductor 1 is reduced. The influence of vibration and speed fluctuation is reduced by making the weight smaller in the weighted portion than in the weightless portion.
[0011]
FIG. 3 shows a case in which the contact member is a cleaning blade. By increasing the free length (distance from the fulcrum of the cleaning blade to the contact position) of the cleaning blade in the portion where the weight 2 exists, the cleaning blade is cleaned. The influence of the movement of the center of gravity is reduced by lowering the contact pressure. Instead of changing the free length, a method such as changing the contact spring pressure between the weighted portion and the non-weighted portion, reducing the thickness of the blade, or moving the ridgeline of the blade itself, or moving the blade It is also possible to reduce the contact pressure of the weighted portion by changing the shape of the sheet metal to be attached.
[0012]
FIG. 4 shows a case where the contact member that comes into contact with the photosensitive member is a roller such as a developing roller, a charging roller, and a transfer roller. The pressure was reduced. In addition, the hardness of the contact roller is changed between the portion where the weight exists and the portion where the weight does not exist without changing the roller diameter, and the contact pressure of the weighted portion is reduced by changing the elasticity of the roller to move the center of gravity. May be eliminated.
[0013]
FIG. 5 is a view showing another example of the present invention, in which weights 2 are fixed to both ends of a photosensitive drum. Also in this case, by changing the contact pressure of the contact member contacting the photoconductor 1 between the portion having the weight and the portion not having the weight, the influence of the contact member can be similarly reduced.
[0014]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the rotation of the photoconductor drum due to the weight is reduced by reducing the contact pressure at a position corresponding to the weight provided inside the photoconductor drum in the process acting in contact with the photoconductor drum. An appropriate contact state can be maintained even if the shake becomes large, and a good image can be obtained.
