しかし、上述の従来技術では、横框にはパネル取付溝の上方又は下方(上横框にあっては上方、下横框にあっては下方)にボルト貫通孔を設けているので、横框は見付け面方向にパネル取付溝とボルト貫通孔とを設けることになり、横框の見付け寸法が大きくなってしまう。このことは、左右の竪框にボルト貫通孔を設けて上下横框の左右端でそれぞれのボルトにナットを螺合する場合にも、上述の横框の場合と同様に竪框の見付け寸法が大きくなってしまう。
このように従来技術では、框の見付け寸法が大きくなるため、その分パネルの見付け面積が喰われてしまい、パネルの見付け面積が小さくなるという問題があった。
また、大型障子であっても竪横框の見付け面積を小さくしてパネル面を広くして、視界を広くしたり、外観を向上したいという要求がある。
そこで、本発明は、大型の障子であってもパネルの見付け面積を極めて大きくすることができ、且つ組み立て作業性の良好な障子の提供を目的とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下に、添付図面を参照して本発明の実施の形態を詳細に説明するが、まず、図1〜図3を参照して本発明の第1実施の形態を説明する。図1は第1実施の形態にかかる障子を備えた壁体の縦断面図であり、図2は図1に示す壁体の横断面図であり、図3は図2の壁体のA−A断面図である。尚、図1及び図2において抜き出して示すのは拡大図であり、図3で抜き出して示しているのは側端部カバーをパネル側面側から見た図である。
第1実施の形態にかかる障子1は、カーテンウォール3の室内側に設けた壁体5を構成しており、床Fから天井G近くまで高さのある開閉可能な大型の障子である。
壁体5は方立7と障子1とを交互に連設しており、各障子1は図2に示すように、方立7から室内側に向けて開閉可能としている。
障子1は、パネル9と、パネル9の上下に装着した横框11、11と、パネルの左右に装着した側端部カバー13、13と、障子のコーナ部に配置したコーナ具15と、左右の通しボルト17、17と、通しボルト17に螺合するナット19、19とから構成されており、パネル9の四周には上下の横框11、11と左右の側端部カバー13、13とが装着されている。
パネル9は、ガラス等の透明材であり、室内に採光可能である。

また、左右の側端部カバー13、13の見つ付け寸法M(図2参照)は、横框11、11の見付け寸法H(図1参照)よりも小さい寸法となっており、パネル面積を広くとるようにしている。側端部カバー13に設けてあるパネルの取付溝29及びボルト挿通部31の上端は上横框11に対向し、下端は下横框11に対向している。上下の横框端面当接部27、27にはタッピングネジ貫通孔33、34が形成されており、タッピングネジ貫通孔33、34を貫通して上下の横框11、11に形成されたタッピングホール35、35にタッピングネジ37、37を螺合して、上下の横框11、11と左右の側端部カバー13、13とを固定している。
左右の側端部カバー13、13に形成されている上下のタッピングネジ貫通孔33、34のうちの下タッピングネジ貫通孔34は丸孔であり、上タッピングネジ貫通孔34は上下方向の長孔になっており、上下横框11、11と側端部カバー13とのネジ孔を容易に一致でき、ネジ留めが容易にできる。
また、左右の側端部カバー13、13は、上下の横框11、11の各端面、パネル左右側端面、通しボルト17、ナット19及びコーナ具15を遮蔽してあり、外から見えないようになっている。
パネル9の四周を囲む上下の横框11、11及び左右の側端部カバー13、13の各コーナ部には、その内周側に略L字形状を成すコーナ具15が配置されている。各コーナ具15は、水平板41と垂直板43とから断面形状が略L字形状に形成されており、水平板41が横框11の取付溝21の底壁25に位置しているとともに上下方向のボルト挿通孔23に位置して、水平板41のパネル端面対向面47がパネル9の端面に対向して配置されている。
パネル9の上下端面とパネル端面対向面47との間には軟質部材49、49が挟着してあり、それぞれパネル9の上下端面を受けている。
垂直板43は、側端部カバー13の取付溝29に配置されており、取付溝29の底壁51に位置してパネル端面対向面53がパネル9の左右の側端面に対向している。
この側端部カバー13においても、パネル9の端面とパネル端面対向面53との間には軟質材部材49が挟着してあり、パネル9の左右端面を受けている。

左右の側端部カバー13、13の見付け寸法Mは横框の見付け寸法Hよりも小さくなっており、横框11、11は見込み方向にボルト貫通孔23とパネル端部の取付溝21を形成しているとともに、これにともなって左右の側端部カバー13、13もボルト挿通部31とパネル端部の取付溝29を見込み方向に並べているから、横框11、11及び側端部カバー13、13の見付け寸法を小さくできる。従って、大型の障子であっても見付け寸法を小さくでき、パネルの四周に取り付ける上下横框11、11及び左右の側端部カバー13、13の見付け面を小さくできるので、パネル9の見付け面積を極めて大きくできて外観が良いとともに、採光面積も広くできる。
パネル9の破損等によりパネル9を交換する場合には、上述した手順と逆の順序で側端部カバー13、13及び上下横框11、11を外し、パネル9を取り除くが、軟質部材49が接着力を有するシール材を用いないで軟質材を用いているだけなので、パネル9のみを側端部カバー13、13や上下横框11、11から容易に外すことがでる。また、破損したパネル9を廃棄するときにも、パネル9にシール材が付着しないので材料の分別が容易である。

この第2実施の形態では、第1実施の形態の障子の上下を左右に置き換えた点が第1実施の形態と異なっているだけで上述した第1実施の形態と同様な作用効果を奏するものである。
