Abstract
Description
【0001】
光の波長についてはCD(compact disk)では近赤外光の780nm、DVD(digital versatile disk)では赤色光の650nm近傍の波長が用いられている。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention uses an optical disc, which is a flexible sheet-shaped optical information recording medium, and stabilizes the swing in the direction of the rotation axis at a portion where writing or reading is performed on the optical disc by a pressure difference of an air flow. The present invention relates to an optical disk device provided with stabilizing means and an adjusting method of the optical disk device, and more particularly to a technique for adjusting a relative positional relationship between an optical disk and a stabilizing member.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, digitalization of television broadcasts has begun, and optical discs are required to record a large amount of digital data. Among the techniques for increasing the density of an optical disk, a basic method is to reduce the spot diameter of light for recording / reproduction.
[0003]
For this reason, it is effective to shorten the wavelength of light used for recording / reproduction and increase the numerical aperture NA of the objective lens. As for the wavelength of light, a wavelength of near infrared light of 780 nm is used for CD (compact disk), and a wavelength of about 650 nm for red light is used for DVD (digital versatile disk). Recently, blue-violet semiconductor lasers have been developed, and it is expected that laser light near 400 nm will be used in the future.
[0004]
In addition, the objective lens for a CD has an NA of less than 0.5, but the objective lens for a DVD has an NA of about 0.6. In the future, it is required to further increase the numerical aperture (NA) to be 0.7 or more. However, increasing the NA of the objective lens and shortening the wavelength of the light also means that the influence of aberrations when the light is stopped is increased. Therefore, the margin for the tilt of the optical disk is reduced. Also, since the depth of focus is reduced by increasing the NA, the focus servo accuracy must be increased.
[0005]
Further, since the distance between the objective lens and the recording surface of the optical disk is reduced by using the objective lens with a high NA, it is necessary to reduce the fluctuation of the surface of the optical disk. In some cases, the objective lens may collide with the optical disk, which may cause a failure of the pickup.
[0006]
As shown in page 183 of O PLUS E (vol. 20 No. 2), as a large-capacity optical disk having a short wavelength and a high NA, for example, a recording film is formed on a substrate which is as thick and rigid as a CD. There has been proposed a system in which recording / reproducing light is recorded / reproduced to / from a recording film through a thin cover layer without passing through the substrate.
[0007]
Further, as described in, for example, JP-A-7-105657 and JP-A-10-308059, a flexible optical disk is rotated on a flat stabilizing plate to reduce surface deviation on the optical disk. Stabilization methods are known.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the above-mentioned conventional technique, when the substrate of the optical disk is formed of a rigid body, extremely accurate molding is performed and recording is performed at a low temperature so that thermal deformation does not occur in order to reduce surface runout and tilt of the rotating optical disk. A film must be formed. This results in a longer tact time for manufacturing an optical disc, which leads to an increase in cost.
[0009]
Further, in the method of rotating a flexible optical disk on a stabilizing plate, as described in JP-A-10-308059, when rotating on a simple flat plate, the optical disk comes into contact with the stabilizing plate. As a result, the optical disk vibrates, causing a high-frequency runout. This surface deviation often occurs in a frequency region in which a mechanical focus servo cannot respond, and it is not possible to sufficiently suppress the residual servo error.
[0010]
Furthermore, when the optical disk and the objective lens slide due to surface deviation, dust is generated, and the dust or the like causes an error. In particular, as described in JP-A-7-105657, if the recording film is present on the stabilizing plate side, the recording film of the optical disk is damaged by sliding, and a direct error is caused. .
[0011]
As one means for solving these problems, the present applicant has disclosed in Japanese Patent Application No. 2001-228943 that the opposing surface of the optical disk is not provided with the stabilizing guide member facing the entire recording layer of the optical disk. An area in which an arc-shaped cylindrical stabilizing guide member is used, and where air pressure does not act on the upstream side and the downstream side in the disk rotation direction in a portion of the optical disc where the surface run-out due to the action of air pressure by the stabilizing guide member is stable ( A space where there is no stabilizing guide member) is provided, so that there is a part that “runs away” on the optical disc before and after the part where the runout was stabilized, and the rebound of the optical disc at the part where the runout was stabilized An invention was proposed in which the effect of the stabilizing force by the aerodynamic force was increased by reducing the force.
[0012]
According to the present invention, it is possible to reliably suppress surface deflection of a flexible optical disk, enable high-density recording, and prevent occurrence of problems such as sliding contact with an objective lens. Since the stabilization position on the optical disk surface by the stabilization guide is affected by the disk rotation speed, the radial position, and the like, it is important to accurately match the focal position of the optical pickup with the stabilization position.
[0013]
In addition, the applicant of the present application has proposed, in Japanese Patent Application No. 2002-12717, an invention for controlling and adjusting a relative position between a stabilization guide and an optical disk based on a detection result of a tracking error signal, and has proposed a focus position of an optical pickup and stable surface shake. In order to solve the above-mentioned important problem of matching the positions of the components.
[0014]
This method is unique in that it can reliably match the focal position of the optical pickup with the surface stabilization position, but in this control operation, the focus servo is turned off and the push-pull signal is applied. It is limited to a case where a typical tracking error signal can be detected, and cannot be applied when the focus servo is turned on.
[0015]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, and to suppress surface deviation of an optical disc by using aerodynamic force according to Bernoulli's law when performing recording / reproduction using a flexible sheet-shaped optical disc. The relative positional relationship between the stabilizing member and the optical disk is accurately adjusted by using the stabilizing member, and the focal position of the optical pickup and the stabilization position of the optical disk are accurately matched to each other. By setting the disc surface deviation at the reproduction position to an extremely small value, it is possible to easily cope with a narrow defocus margin and a narrow work discance in an optical pickup with a high NA, and to stabilize the recording and / or reproducing operation. An object of the present invention is to provide an optical disk device and a method for adjusting the same.
[0016]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the invention according to
A control adjustment for adjusting a relative positional relationship between the optical disc and the stabilizing means in a three-dimensional space based on an analysis value of a servo drive signal of a servo drive system for controlling the focal position of the optical pickup to follow the optical disc surface. With this configuration, the stabilization state of the surface deviation of the optical disk at the position facing the optical pickup can be accurately determined based on the servo drive signal waveform, and the relative positional relationship between the optical disk and the stabilizing unit can be determined. By the adjustment, the focal position of the optical pickup with respect to the optical disk and the surface stabilization position on the optical disk can be accurately matched, and stable recording and / or reproduction can be realized at the position where the surface deviation is reduced. In addition, by setting the disc surface deviation at the signal recording / reproducing position on the optical disc to an extremely small value, it becomes possible to easily cope with a narrow defocus margin and a narrow work discance of an optical pickup having a high NA.
[0017]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the optical disk device according to the first aspect, the control and adjustment unit controls the optical disk and the stabilizing unit so that the maximum amplitude of the servo drive signal is equal to or less than a preset reference value. It is characterized in that the relative positional relationship in the three-dimensional space is adjusted, and with this configuration, the deviation of the optical pickup surface is adjusted to an arbitrary quantitative value or less.
[0018]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the optical disk device according to the first or second aspect, the reference value is set to a value of a servo drive signal amplitude when a focus servo drive is performed on an arbitrary surface of a wobble optical disk. An arbitrary surface shake range is set based on the relative relationship with the surface shake amount, and the arbitrary surface shake range is determined by the rotation speed of the optical disc and the radial position on the optical disc on which arbitrary recording / reproduction is performed. The optical disc is characterized in that it is set to be larger than the optimal amount of surface shake at the stabilization point of the optical disk stabilized by the optimizing means and is set to 20 μm or less. By using this reference value, reliable and accurate judgment can be made. Becomes possible. In other words, by setting the limit value of the amount of surface deviation to 20 μm or less, even when using a high NA optical pickup (for example, NA 0.85 for DVR) having a work distance as narrow as about 0.05 mm to 0.3 mm, light The collision between the objective lens of the pickup and the optical disk can be reliably avoided, and the operation of the control adjustment system can be diverged by setting the lower limit of the amount of runout to an effective value for the optical disk. Can be prevented.
[0019]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided the optical disk device according to any one of the first to third aspects, wherein the optical disk and / or the stabilizing member are controlled based on an optical disk, a stabilizing member, and a relative position adjustment signal from the control adjusting means. Characterized in that it is provided with a moving mechanism for moving the position.
[0020]
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a rotation driving unit for rotating a flexible sheet-shaped optical disk, an optical pickup for emitting light to a recording surface of the optical disk to write or read information, and A stabilizing means for stabilizing the deflection in the rotation axis direction at a portion where writing or reading is performed on the optical disc by a pressure difference of an airflow, an adjustment method used in an optical disc apparatus,

According to this method, a servo drive signal is used to accurately judge the stabilization state of the optical disk at a position facing the optical pickup, and by adjusting the relative positional relationship between the optical disk and the stabilizing member, the optical drive of the optical pickup is And the stabilization position on the optical disc can be accurately matched with each other, and stable recording and / or reproduction can be realized at a position where the surface shake is reduced. Also, by setting the disc surface deviation at the signal recording / reproducing position on the optical disc to an extremely small value, it becomes possible to easily cope with a narrow defocus margin and a narrow work discance of an optical pickup having a high NA.
[0021]
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a rotation driving means for rotating a flexible sheet-shaped optical disc, an optical pickup for emitting light to a recording surface of the optical disc to write or read information, and at least an optical disc. A stabilizing means for stabilizing the deflection in the direction of the rotation axis in a portion where writing or reading is performed by a pressure difference of an air flow, an adjustment method used for an optical disc device,
The adjustment method according to
[0022]
According to a seventh aspect of the present invention, in the adjustment method of the optical disk device according to the fifth aspect, the adjustment according to the sixth aspect is performed as a fine adjustment in a relative positional relationship between the optical disk and the stabilizing means in a three-dimensional space. With this method, the adjustment control operation can be simplified and speeded up.
[0023]
According to an eighth aspect of the present invention, in the adjustment method of the optical disk device according to any one of the fifth to seventh aspects, the optical disk and the optical disk drive are adjusted so that the maximum amplitude of the servo drive signal is equal to or less than a preset reference value. The method is characterized in that the relative positional relationship with the stabilizing means in a three-dimensional space is adjusted. By this method, the deviation of the optical pickup surface is adjusted to an arbitrary quantitative value or less.
[0024]
According to a ninth aspect of the present invention, in the method for adjusting an optical disk device according to any one of the fifth to eighth aspects, the reference value is set to an arbitrary surface of the optical disk whose surface is out of focus by focus servo drive. Is set within an arbitrary surface wobble range based on the relative relationship between the servo drive signal amplitude and the surface wobble amount, and the arbitrary surface wobble range is set to the rotation speed of the optical disk and to an arbitrary optical disk on which recording / reproduction is performed. The method is characterized by using a value larger than the optimum amount of surface shake at the optimum optical disk surface shake stabilization point stabilized by the stabilizing means and equal to or less than 20 μm on the condition of the radius position. Makes a good decision. In other words, by setting the limit value of the amount of surface deviation to 20 μm or less, even when an optical pickup with a high NA having a work distance as narrow as about 0.05 mm to 0.3 mm (for example, NA 0.85 for DVR) is used. Collision between the objective lens of the pickup and the optical disk can be reliably avoided, and the operation of the control adjustment system can be diverged by setting the lower limit of the amount of runout to an effective value for the optical disk. Can be prevented.

The recording linear velocity is 10 m / s, the recording peak power is 5 mW, the erasing power is 2.6 mW, the recording bottom power is 0.1 mW, ternary modulation, and the reproduction is performed at 0.25 mW. The jitter between them was less than 8%. Furthermore, stable focus and tracking were performed without disturbance of the envelope of the recording signal. The residual error of focus was measured for both recording and reproduction, and the defocus amount was less than ± 0.12 μm. At a high NA of 0.8 or more, the defocus margin is extremely narrow, which is only a fraction of that of a DVD or the like, and it is essential that the defocus amount be ± 0.2 μm or less. In that sense, it can be said that sufficient focus stabilization has been performed.
[0043]
The defocus was evaluated by performing reproduction at a linear velocity of 20 m / s, and the amount was ± 0.12 μm or less as described above. In the conventional high-rigidity disk, when the linear velocity was increased, the runout increased due to the action such as resonance, and a better result was obtained as compared with the case where the defocus amount increased. This is because, in the present invention, since the aerodynamic stabilization is used, the stabilizing force increases as the linear velocity increases.
[0044]
The present inventors have conducted intensive studies on a method for controlling the above-described surface runout of the optical disc to further stabilize the result. As a result, when the focus position of the optical pickup is controlled to follow the optical disc surface by the focus servo mechanism, The servo drive signal at the time of this follow-up control has a correlation with the runout of the disk surface, and by adjusting the relative positional relationship between the optical disk and the stabilizing member in the three-dimensional space so that the servo drive signal satisfies an arbitrary standard. As a result, it has been found that disk surface runout can be reduced and adjusted.
[0045]
In general, an optical disk device includes a focus error detection system that returns a detection waveform according to an S-shaped characteristic as shown in FIG. 7 according to the distance between the disk surface and the objective lens. The drive amplifier controls the focus position of the optical pickup so that the optical pickup has a constant value (generally, a zero target), and controls the optical pickup so as to focus on the disk surface. The servo drive signal used for this control contains information on the runout of the optical disk, and the waveform analysis can estimate the runout amount of the optical disk, and the adjustment / control can be performed.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to accurately judge the stabilization state of the optical disc at a position facing the optical pickup by using the servo drive signal, and adjust the relative positional relationship between the optical disc and the stabilizing member. By making the focal position of the optical pickup relative to the optical disk coincide with the surface wobbling stabilization position of the optical disk, and making the disk surface wobble at the signal recording / reproducing position on the optical disk an extremely small value, the narrow defocus of the high NA optical pickup is achieved. It is possible to easily cope with a margin and a narrow work discance, and a stable recording and / or reproducing operation can be realized.
