スロットマシン等の遊技機にはメダルの投入口が設けられている。遊技者は所定の枚数のメダルを投入してゲームを楽しむことができる。

従来の遊技機ではメダルを一枚づつ投入していった。これでは一度に多数のメダルを投入するときに手間がかかり不便である。しかし、一度に多数のメダルを投入できるようにすると、メダルが投入口あるいは排出口で詰まるという問題があった。また、回転型ホッパをメダル投入口に設けると水平方向に大きなスペースが必要という問題があった。

請求項1に係るメダル送り出し装置は、複数のメダルを搬送するベルトと、このベルトを覆う脱着可能な上蓋部とを含み、上蓋部が、投入されたメダルが通過することのできる開口部を設けた漏斗状のメダル通過部と、このメダル通過部の底面と前記ベルトとの間に設けられ、開口部を通過した複数のメダルが重なった状態で前記ベルト上で搬送された場合に該複数のメダルを分離することができる分離手段とを含むものであることを特徴とする。

図1において、メダル送り出し装置100は、その上部に遊技者が実際に複数枚のメダルを投入するメダル受け部1が設けられており、このメダル受け部1に投入されたメダルを受けてこれを搬送するベルト2及びこのベルトを駆動するベルト駆動用ローラ6とこのベルト2の上方を覆う上蓋部200とを有している。ベルト駆動用ローラ6は図示していない、例えばモータなどのベルト駆動部によりその回転速度、回転方向が制御される。

メダル受け部1の下方には、ベルト2を覆う着脱可能な上蓋部200が設けられている。上蓋部200の一端にはメダル受け部1に投入されたメダルがベルト2上になるべく傾斜した方向で落下するように、ロート形状を有するメダル通過部201と、ベルト2上に落下し重なった状態で投入された複数のメダルを1枚づつ分離して他端に、すなわち遊技機内部に搬送するローラ3と、ローラ3に搬送されてくる複数のメダルをローラ3に入る直前で、ある程度の枚数に分離する案内板13とを備えている。

ローラ3はベルト2と略平行に設けられている。ローラ3とベルト2の間には隙間bが設けられている。この隙間bは、メダルを横方向で1枚ずつ搬送するときはメダル1枚の厚さよりも多少広く、メダル2枚分の厚さより狭くなっている。この場合、ベルト2によりメダルが1枚ずつ搬送される。隙間bの大きさは搬送するメダルの厚さ及び搬送枚数に応じて定められる。ローラ3は図示していない、例えばモータなどの駆動制御部によりその回転が制御される。

図中に矢印で示すように、隙間bにおいて、ローラ3は前記ベルト2の搬送方向と逆方向に動く。より詳しくは、ローラ3は、該ローラ3のベルト2の搬送方向に対向する側が、ローラ3に対向するベルト2の面の搬送方向とは逆方向に移動するように回転する。ローラ3がベルト2の搬送方向と逆方向に動くとは、このようなことをいう。

図2は、図1のメダル送り出し装置100を遊技機(スロットマシン)に適用した例を示す。メダル送り出し装置100により投入されたメダルをメダルセレクタやメダル内部貯留装置やホッパーに送ることができる。

スロットマシン10は、図2に示すように、四角箱状の筐体11を有する。前記筐体11の中央部及び上部には、遊技者側に向かって臨む四角窓状の表示窓12が形成されている。そして、この中央部の表示窓12の中央には、三個の回転リール40の図柄61を見ることができる図柄表示窓13が形成されている。ペットスイッチ16は、回転リール40の下方に位置するスイッチであって、貯留メダル数を減じてメダル投入に代える。精算スイッチ17は、回転リールの斜め下方に位置するスイッチであって、貯留した投入メダルを払い出す。スタートスイッチ30は回転リール40の斜め下方に位置するレバーであって、遊技メダルの投入若しくはペットスイッチ16の投入を条件に、リールユニット60の駆動を開始させる。ストップスイッチ50は、リールユニット60の駆動を停止させるためのものである。リールユニット60は、三個の回転リール40とから構成されている。そして、各回転リール40は、合成樹脂からなる回転ドラムと、この回転ドラムの周囲に貼付されるテープ状のリールテープ42とを備えている。このリールテープ42の外周面には、複数個(例えば21個)の図柄61が表示されている。

図3はメダル送り出し装置100およびメダル受け部1を斜め上から見た状態を示す。101はスタ
ート/ストップスイッチである。このスイッチ101を操作することによりメダル送り出し装置100が動作/停止する。なお、メダルの有無を検出するセンサを設けて装置の動作/停止を自動的に行うようにしてもよい。遊技者は多数のメダルをメダル受け部1に投入すると、メダルは漏斗状のメダル受け部1の斜面を滑って開口部Aに到達し、そこからメダル通過部201を通過してベルト2上に落下する。開口部Aの大きさは複数のメダルが容易に落下する程度に、やや大きめになっている。したがって、1、2枚程度のメダルを投入したときはもちろん、多数のメダルを同時に投入したときでも何枚かは確実にベルト2に落下し、搬送される。後述のように、開口部Aを通って複数のメダルがベルト2に落下してもメダルは1枚ずつ搬送される(メダルセレクタにおいてメダルを検査・選別したり、枚数を計数するために、メダルは1枚ずつ搬送されることが望ましい)。なお、メダル受け部1は着脱可
能としてもよい。

図9は複数(2枚)のメダルM、M‘が投入された場合を示す。下側のメダルMは図6〜図8と同じように搬送されるが、メダルM‘はベルト2に接触しない。代わりに上側のメダルM’はローラ3に接触し、やや上に持ち上げられるとともに矢印の方向に押し戻される。メダルM‘は、メダルMが搬送される間、開口部A内にある。このようにメダルM‘はメダルMと分離される。メダルMが搬送されると、メダルM’は少し落下して図6のメダルMと同じ状態になる。そして、メダルM‘も同様に搬送される。

ローラ3がない場合について考えてみる。メダルが2枚重なった状態で投入されると、そのままベルト2により搬送されてしまう。これではメダルセレクタにおいてメダルが詰まるおそれがある。ローラ3の代わりに板を用いてメダル1枚分の隙間を設ける場合について考えてみる。メダルが2枚重なった状態で投入されると、2枚一緒にベルトで搬送される。すると隙間部分でメダルが詰まるおそれがある。したがって、複数のメダルが同時に投入されたときメダル詰まりを起こすことなくメダルを1枚ずつ搬送するためには、例えば、ローラ3を設けることが望ましい。また各図に示すようにローラ3の直前に案内板13を設けることによりローラ3に一度にたくさんのメダルが搬送されることを防止することができる。

図10のように複数枚のメダルがベルト2とローラ3との間に詰まると、ベルト2の搬送動作もローラ3の回転も停止する。このとき、ベルト2の搬送動作、すなわちベルト駆動用ローラ6の回転速度を検知する搬送状態センサ(図示せず)は、ベルト2が動作していないことを検知する。

これにより、分離用のローラ3とベルト用のベルト駆動用ローラ6が共にメダル通過部201の方向に回転するため、詰まっているメダルをメダル通過部201の方向に弾き飛ばすことができる。その結果、メダル詰まりによりモータなどの故障や破損を防止することができる。またメダル詰まりに伴なうゲームの中断も防止でき、遊技者が快適に遊技を続けることが可能になる。
