現在、病院において、入院患者へのサービス向上の一環として、ベッドサイドにPC(Personal Computer)端末を設置し、電子メール、Web参照等を可能にするサービスが、主に病床数の多い大病院を中心に普及しつつある。

ところで、ベッドサイドのPC端末を使用していた入院患者が退院又は死亡し、そのPC端末を使用しなくなった場合には、その患者のプライバシー保護のためにPC端末からメール、アドレス帳等の個人データを削除する必要がある。
また、入院中の患者が治療の経過に伴い病室を移ることもある。しかし、大病院では病床数が多いため、PC端末の1台ごとにメール等の個人データを削除又は移動するのは非常に多くの労力を必要とし、また、そのような作業を専門に担当する者がいない病院が多数を占めるという問題もある。
そこで、本願発明は、病院のベッドサイドのPC端末の管理に要する労力を軽減すべく、PC端末を患者が使用しなくなったタイミング又は使用するPC端末が変更になるタイミングに関する情報を、病院情報システムからネットワークを介して受信したPC端末が個人データを削除又は移動する方法を提供することを目的とする。
