Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator, an optical member assembly, and a method for assembling the same. Particularly, the present invention is used when laminating plate-like or sheet-like optical members, and is excellent in transparency and laminating workability, and is reliable in bonding. The present invention relates to a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator having features such as no transfer of a silicone resin which is a problem at the time of evaluation of properties.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In display products such as a liquid crystal display (LCD), a plasma display (PDP), a projection screen (PJ), and a cathode ray tube (CRT), various plate-like and sheet-like optical members are used in large numbers. These optical members are bonded to each other with a transparent adhesive for the purpose of reducing light loss due to light scattering between the optical members, increasing the efficiency at the time of assembling the product, and maintaining the strength of the product. . For example, in the case of LCD, the adhesion of a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal cell, in the case of an anti-reflection (AR) film and the polarizing plate, in the case of a PDP, the adhesion of an AR film, an electromagnetic shielding film, a near infrared absorption (NIR) film, and the like. Adhesion between an anti-glare (AG) film and a CRT is performed.
[0003]
As such adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, heat-sensitive adhesives, ultraviolet (UV) curable adhesives, and the like have been developed. However, pressure-sensitive adhesives that require relatively little equipment investment when pasting are used. The most widespread.
[0004]
The method for forming the adhesive layer on the surface of the optical member includes a method of directly applying a liquid adhesive to the surface of the optical member and a method of laminating and transferring an adhesive sheet previously formed on a separator film to the surface of the optical member. There is a way. In the method of directly applying a liquid adhesive, although the adhesive itself is inexpensive, it contaminates the working environment during the application work (especially when applying an organic solvent type adhesive, it is necessary to take measures against the organic solvent). There are problems that it is difficult to form an adhesive layer with good thickness accuracy, and that the optical member is easily damaged by applying a liquid adhesive. On the other hand, the method of laminating and transferring an adhesive sheet is relatively expensive because the adhesive sheet itself is relatively expensive, and the cost is likely to be higher than a method of directly applying the adhesive sheet. There are also features such as not being used, and they are used properly according to the features of the two methods.
[0005]
As a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator used in such an application, an adhesive sheet in which a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is formed between two plastic separators is used. However, in recent years, there has been a demand for a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator that is excellent in transparency due to improvement in display accuracy of the display, has high adhesion reliability without problems such as peeling and floating, and has excellent bonding workability. I have.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention solves the drawbacks described in the prior art, and has excellent transparency, excellent sticking workability, and a feeling with a separator having characteristics such as no transfer of silicone resin which is a problem at the time of evaluation of adhesion reliability. An object of the present invention is to provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet, an optical member assembly, and a method for assembling the same.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator, comprising a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for bonding an optical member and having plastic separators on both sides, wherein the plastic separator is a polyolefin-based plastic film, and the double-sided plastic separator A pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator, wherein the difference in the peeling force from the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is 0.1 N / 25 mm or more, and the total light transmittance of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is 80% or more.
[0008]
Further, the present invention is a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator, wherein the peel strength of the plastic separator from the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is 2 N / 25 mm or less.
[0009]
Further, the present invention is a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator, wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has an adhesive force to an acrylic plate of 2 N / 25 mm or more.
[0010]
Further, the present invention is a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator, wherein one of the plastic separators is a polyethylene film and the other is a polypropylene film.
[0011]
The present invention is also a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator, wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is formed of a cross-linkable acrylic adhesive.
[0012]
The present invention is an optical member assembly in which optical members are bonded and assembled, wherein the optical member is bonded by a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer obtained by peeling off plastic separators on both surfaces of the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator. It is an assembly.
[0013]
Further, the present invention is a method for assembling an optical member assembly in which optical members are bonded to each other, wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer obtained by peeling off the plastic separator having a low peeling force of the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with the separator is provided. This is an assembling method of an optical member assembly in which an optical member is bonded and then a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer from which another plastic separator is peeled off is bonded to a second optical member.
[0014]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Embodiments of the present invention will be specifically described below.
The pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator of the present invention has high transparency, and has a total light transmittance of 80% or more. It is more preferably at least 90%. If the total light transmittance is lower than 80%, the light transmittance at the time of bonding the optical members is poor, and a problem such as a dark display or a decrease in contrast occurs. The total light transmittance here was measured with an integrating sphere turbidity meter (NDH2000, manufactured by Nippon Denshoku Industries Co., Ltd.) according to JIS-K7105 in a state where the two separators were peeled off and only the adhesive layer was formed.
[0015]
The adhesive layer in the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator of the present invention is a pressure-sensitive adhesive, and has an adhesive force of 2 N / 25 mm or more when attached to an acrylic plate. If it is 2 N / 25 mm or less, a sufficient adhesive force to the optical member cannot be obtained, and problems such as peeling occur. Here, the adhesive strength to the acrylic plate was measured at 2 m / min using a rubber roll obtained by applying a pressure of 5880 N / m to the acrylic sheet (Sumipec E000, manufactured by Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd., 1.5 mm thick flat plate). , The other separator was peeled off, and a 25 μm PET film (S-25 manufactured by Unitika) was adhered under the same conditions to prepare a test piece. The test piece was further left at room temperature for 30 minutes, and then peeled at a peel angle of 180 °. This is a value obtained by measuring the adhesive force at a speed of 0.3 m / min and at room temperature.
[0016]
Examples of the pressure-sensitive adhesive include commonly used acrylic adhesives obtained by copolymerizing various acrylic monomers, natural rubber adhesives, polyisobutylene, butyl rubber, styrene-butylene-styrene copolymer (SBS) and the like. Synthetic rubber-based adhesives, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) -based adhesives, and the like, and mixed adhesives thereof can be used. Among them, a cross-linkable acrylic adhesive is preferably used because a highly transparent adhesive in which the total light transmittance of the adhesive sheet is 80% or more is easily obtained.
[0017]
This cross-linked acrylic adhesive has a low Tg monomer such as butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, or 2-ethylhexyl acrylate as a main monomer, and includes acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, hydroxyethyl methacrylate, hydroxyethyl acrylate, acrylamide, acrylonitrile, and the like. It can be obtained by crosslinking an acrylic copolymer obtained by copolymerizing with a functional group monomer with a crosslinking agent.
[0018]
As the acrylic copolymer, those having a weight average molecular weight in the range of 100,000 to 1.5 million are preferably used. When the weight average molecular weight is smaller than 100,000, the amount of low molecular weight substances in the adhesive increases, so that the cohesive force of the adhesive tends to decrease, and problems such as peeling when the optical member is bonded are liable to occur. On the other hand, if the weight average molecular weight exceeds 1.5 million, the viscosity when dissolved in a solvent is high, and it is difficult to obtain a smooth adhesive-coated appearance when the adhesive sheet is formed. Further, the acrylic copolymer having a glass transition point (Tg) of -20 ° C or lower can be preferably used. If the Tg is higher than −20 ° C., the adhesive becomes hard, and even when pressure-bonded at room temperature, an appropriate adhesive force to the optical member cannot be obtained.
[0019]
Known crosslinking agents such as isocyanate-based, melamine-based, and epoxy-based crosslinking agents can be used as the crosslinking agent. Further, as this crosslinking agent, a polyfunctional crosslinking agent such as trifunctional or tetrafunctional is more preferably used in order to form a network structure which gradually spreads in the adhesive.
[0020]
Further, an appropriate amount of a tackifier, an antioxidant, an ultraviolet absorber, a softener, a filler, and the like may be added to the adhesive layer as needed.
[0021]
The thickness of the adhesive layer in the present invention is usually preferably 5 to 100 μm. More preferably, it is 10 to 50 μm. If the thickness is less than 5 μm, it is impossible to follow irregularities on the surface of the optical member, and a sufficient adhesive strength cannot be obtained. On the other hand, if the thickness is more than 100 μm, the price per unit area increases, and the thickness causes a problem such as a decrease in transparency.
[0022]
The double-sided plastic separator used in the present invention may be a polypropylene film, a polyethylene film, a poly (4) film that can ensure release properties from the adhesive layer without performing a coating treatment of a release agent such as a silicone resin on the separator surface. A film containing an olefin resin such as methylpentene-1) as a main component can be favorably used. By using these polyolefin-based resin films, it is possible to obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator free from transfer of silicone resin, which is a problem when evaluating the adhesive reliability of an optical member. As the plastic separator, a biaxially stretched olefin resin film, a multilayer extruded olefin resin film, an olefin resin film multilayered with an adhesive, and the like can also be used favorably.
[0023]
The difference in the peeling force between the plastic separators on both sides used in the present invention from the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is 0.1 N / 25 mm or more. When it is less than 0.1 N / 25 mm, when one of the separators is peeled off when the adhesive sheet is attached to the optical member, the adhesive layer adheres to the peeled separator, and the other separator has a smooth and good appearance. Occurs (a tear-off phenomenon) in which no adhesive layer remains. When the tearing-off phenomenon occurs, the adhesive layer cannot be smoothly attached to the optical member, and the optical member cannot be attached with good appearance.
[0024]
The peeling force of the plastic separator on both sides used in the present invention from the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is 2 N / 25 mm or less. When the peeling force is higher than 2N / 25mm, the peeling workability of the separator is deteriorated, the separator cannot be smoothly peeled, and the adhesive layer is broken and wrinkles or steps are generated on the surface of the adhesive layer. There is a problem that the deformation remains to cause an appearance defect. The peeling force here is a value measured at room temperature at a peeling speed of 1 m / min in a T-peel state. When measuring the adhesive force of the separator having a higher peeling force, the separator having a lighter peeling force was peeled off, and a 25 μm PET film (S-25 manufactured by Unitika) was stuck on its surface, and the T-peel state was similarly applied. The measurement was performed at room temperature at a peeling speed of 1 m / min.
[0025]
Further, the thickness of the plastic separator is preferably from 10 to 200 μm. More preferably, it is 20 to 100 μm. If the thickness is less than 10 μm, the film strength is insufficient, and problems such as breakage of the film and easy wrinkling during the production of the adhesive sheet occur. On the other hand, if the thickness is more than 200 μm, there arises a problem that the film itself becomes expensive.
[0026]
As a method for forming the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer here, known methods such as a method of applying an adhesive whose viscosity is adjusted by dissolving in an organic solvent, a method of melting and applying the adhesive, and a method of dispersing and applying in water are used. Although a method can be used, a method of forming a crosslinked acrylic adhesive is generally a method of applying an adhesive whose viscosity is adjusted by dissolving in an organic solvent.
[0027]
Hereinafter, the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator of the present invention will be specifically described with reference to Examples, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
[0028]
Example 1 will be described. An acryl copolymer using butyl acrylate as a main monomer and acrylic acid and methacrylic acid as a functional group monomer was synthesized by a solution polymerization method. The weight average molecular weight of this synthesized acrylic copolymer was 400,000. A pressure-sensitive adhesive solution was prepared by mixing 0.1 part by weight of an epoxy-based crosslinking agent with respect to 100 parts by weight of the acrylic copolymer, and the thickness of the dried adhesive was reduced to 40 μm on a 50 μm-thick polypropylene film. Coating and drying were performed. Further, a polyethylene film having a thickness of 60 μm was laminated on the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. This pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator was allowed to stand at room temperature for one week to be sufficiently aged, and then used for a test. In this pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator, the peel force of the polypropylene film from the adhesive layer was 1.1 N / 25 mm, and the peel force of the laminated polyethylene film from the adhesive layer was 0.8 N / 25 mm. Was.
[0029]
Example 2 will be described. In place of the polyethylene film having a thickness of 60 μm, a separator was provided in the same manner as in Example 1 except that a two-layer coextruded film of 40 μm polyethylene and polypropylene was laminated so that the polyethylene resin surface was in contact with the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. A pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet was produced. The peeling force from the adhesive layer of the coextruded two-layer film of polyethylene and polypropylene in the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with the separator was 0.8 N / 25 mm.
[0030]
Embodiment 3 will be described. A pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator was produced in the same manner as in Example 1 except that a 50-μm poly (4-methylpentene-1) film was laminated on the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer instead of the 60-μm-thick polyethylene film. . The peeling force of the poly (4-methylpentene-1) film from the adhesive layer in the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with the separator was 0.9 N / 25 mm.
[0031]
Comparative Example 1 will be described. A pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator was produced in the same manner as in Example 1, except that a 50-μm-thick polypropylene film coated with an adhesive was laminated on the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer.
[0032]
Comparative Example 2 will be described. A pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with a separator was produced in the same manner as in Example 1, except that a 25 μm biaxially stretched polyester film coated with a silicone resin-based release agent on the surface was laminated on the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The peeling force of the biaxially stretched polyester film separator in the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet with the separator from the adhesive layer was 0.1 N / 25 mm.
[0033]
The characteristic values of the adhesive sheets of the above Examples and Comparative Examples were measured by the following methods. Each result was summarized in FIG.
(1) Total light transmittance The total light transmittance was measured using an integrating sphere turbidimeter (Model NDH2000, manufactured by Nippon Denshoku Industries Co., Ltd.) in a state where the two separators were peeled off and only the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer was used. And JIS-K7105.
(2) Adhesive force to acrylic plate The adhesive sheet from which one of the separators was peeled off was coated on an acrylic plate (Sumipec E000, manufactured by Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd., a 1.5 mm thick flat plate) using a rubber roll applied with a pressure of 5880 N / m, at a speed of 2 m / min. Then, the other separator was peeled off, and a 25 μm PET film (S-25 manufactured by Unitika) was pasted under the same conditions to prepare a test piece. The test piece was further left at room temperature for 30 minutes. The adhesive strength (N / 25 mm) was measured at room temperature at 0.3 m / min.
(3) Peeling Force of Separator The adhesive sheet was cut into a 25 mm width, and the peeling force (N / 25 mm) was measured when the separator was peeled from the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer in a T peel state at a peeling speed of 1 m / min at room temperature. .
(4) Laminating workability A rubber roll obtained by applying a pressure of 5880 N / m to an acrylic sheet (Sumipec E000 manufactured by Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd., 1.5 mm thick flat plate) having a size of 100 mm × 200 mm was peeled off from the adhesive sheet from which one of the separators was peeled off. It was applied at a speed of 2 m / min. Further, the other separator was peeled off, and a 50 μm PET film (S-50 manufactured by Unitika) was laminated under the same conditions.
The bonding workability at this time was evaluated based on the following criteria.
:: The separator was easily peeled off, and the laminating work was easily performed.
X: The tearing-off phenomenon occurred when the separator was peeled off, and the lamination work could not be performed.
(5) The surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer from which the silicone transferable separator was peeled off was measured with a fluorescent X-ray apparatus and evaluated according to the following criteria.
:: No silicone transfer was observed.
×: Transfer of silicone is observed.
[0034]
FIG. 1 shows the measurement results. As is clear from FIG. 1, Examples 1 to 3, which are the adhesive sheets of the present invention, were excellent in laminating workability, and there was no silicone transfer to the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive. On the other hand, in Comparative Example 1 in which a polypropylene film having the same peeling force was used on the adhesive-coated side and the laminate side, a tearing-off phenomenon occurred when the separator was peeled off, and the lamination could not be performed. In Comparative Example 2 in which a 25 μm biaxially stretched polyester film coated with a silicone resin-based release agent on the surface of the laminate was bonded, silicone transfer was observed on the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer.
[0035]
【The invention's effect】
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, it is used when sticking a plate-shaped or sheet-shaped optical member, and it is excellent in transparency, sticking workability, and pressure-sensitive adhesive with a separator without transfer of silicone resin which is a problem at the time of evaluation of adhesion reliability.
