本発明は箱の組立て装置および組立て方法に係り、とくに複数の板状体を用い、これらを必要に応じて折曲げて接合して箱を組立てる箱の組立て装置および組立て方法に関する。

【従来の技術】
包装箱として用いられるいわゆるB式ケースは、前面板と、両側の側板と、これら両側の側板の先端部に設けられた接合片とを連続して備える第1の板状体と、蓋板と、背面板と、底板とを連続して備える第2の板状体と、を用いて組立てられる。すなわち上記第1の板状体の両端の接合片を第2の板状体の背面板の両端にステッチャまたは糊で接着して製箱する。ここで従来はこのような組立てを人手によって行なっていた。なお部分的に自動化した組立ても行なわれており、半自動による組立てが可能になっている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
このように従来のいわゆるB式ケースの組立ては、人手によって、あるいは部分的に自動化した半自動によって組立てが行なわれているために、生産性が低く、製造コストが高くなっていた。そしてこのような製造コストが箱の値段に反映されるために、箱のコストが高くなる欠点があった。

本発明はこのような問題点に鑑みてなされたものであって、人手を要することなく完全に自動的に組立てが行なわれるようにした箱の組立て装置および組立て方法を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本願の主要な発明は、前面板と、両側の側板と、該両側の側板の先端部に設けられた接合片とを連続して備える第1の板状体と、蓋板と、背面板と、底板とを連続して備える第2の板状体と、を用いて箱を組立てる箱の組立て装置において、
前記第1の板状体の一方の側板を前面板と重合うように折曲げるとともに、他方の側板の先端部の接合片を前記一方の側板の先端部の接合片と同じ向きになるように折曲げる折曲げ手段と、
前記第1の板状体の両側の接合片の外表面または前記第2の板状体の背面板の内表面であって前記接合片と接合される部位に糊または接着剤を塗布する糊または接着剤の塗布手段と、
前記第1の板状体の両側の接合片と前記第2の板状体の背面板の両端部とがほぼ一致するように前記第1の板状体と前記第2の板状体とを重合わせる重合わせ手段と、

【発明の実施の形態】
以下本発明を図示の実施の形態によって説明する。本実施の形態の箱の組立て装置および組立て方法は、段ボールを用いたB式ケースの組立て装置および組立て方法に関するものである。図1に示すようにここでは段ボールから成る横長の第1の板状体11と、同じく段ボールから成る縦長の第2の板状体12とによって包装箱を組立てるようにしている。

第1の板状体11は前面板16をそのほぼ中央に備えるとともに、その両側に側板17、18が連設され、側板17、18の先端側にはさらに接合片19、20が設けられている。なおこれらは折曲げ線によって折曲げ可能に連結されている。

これに対して第2の板状体12は背面板22をそのほぼ中央部に備え、その下側に底板23が、上側に蓋板24がそれぞれ連設される。また底板23と蓋板24の先端部にはそれぞれフラップ25、26が連設されている。

次にこのような第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12とを用いてB式ケースを組立てる動作を説明する。図1Aに示すように第1の板状体11の一方の側板18を前面板16の上側に重なるように折曲げるとともに、反対側の側板17の先端側の接合片19を側板18と同じ向きになるように折曲げる。そして接合片19、20の表面にそれぞれ糊剤28を塗布する。

この後に図1Bに示すように、折曲げた第1の板状体11を第2の板状体12の背面板22の内側に重合わせるとともに、糊剤28を塗布した接合片19、20を背面板22の両端に一致させる。そして接合片19、20を背面板22と糊付けして接合することによって、図1Cに示すように第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12とを結合する。

これによって第1の板状体11で箱の側面の3辺が形成される。従って底部開口を第2の板状体12の蓋板23によって閉塞し、上部開口を蓋板24によって閉塞することによって、図1Dに示すようにB式ケースが組立てられる。なお本実施の形態の組立て装置および組立て方法は、図1Aに示すように第1の板状体11を折曲げるとともに接合片19、20に糊剤28を塗布し、その後に第2の板状体12の背面板22に図1Bに示すように重合わせる工程までを行なうものである。そして図1Bに示すように偏平に折畳まれた状態で組立てられた箱が供給され、使用する直前に図1Cおよび図1Dに示すように立体的に組立てて箱として使用する。

次に箱の組立て装置の全体の構成を図2によって説明する。この組立て装置は組立て工程の方向に長く延びる架台30を備えるとともに、その前端側であって上部にはホッパ31と折曲げユニット32とが上下に配されている。そしてこれらのホッパ31および折曲げユニット32の後方に糊付けユニット33が配置されている。糊付けユニット33は糊タンク34から供給管路35によって供給される糊剤28を第1の板状体11の接合片19、20に糊付けするユニットである。

上記糊付けユニット33の後方にホッパ36が配され、このホッパ36によって第2の板状体12が供給される。そして第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12とは積圧ユニット37において重合わせる方向に押圧され、これによって接合片19、20に塗布された糊剤28によって糊付け結合されるようになっている。

なおここで板状体11の接合片19、20の糊付け位置に予め傷をつけておき、このような傷をつけたところに糊付けすると、糊の浸透性あるいは接着性が向上する。また板状体11の接合片19、20に糊付けする代りに、反対側の第2の板状体12の背面板22の接着位置に糊付けをしてもよい。

また第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12の接着位置に塗布する糊剤は、澱粉糊であることが好ましい。これは澱粉糊であると固化時間が3〜5秒程度であって比較的長く、このために第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12とが互いに位置ずれした状態で糊付けされても、後述する積圧ユニット37の直立ガイド57、58によって規制されて第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12の相対的な位置ずれが矯正されるからである。ここでホットメルト等の速乾性の接着剤を用いると、積圧ユニット37の直立ガイド57、58による位置ずれの矯正がやや困難になる。この点で澱粉糊を糊付けユニット33で塗布することが好ましい。

次に図3および図4によって箱を組立てる動作を工程の順に説明する。第1の板状体11はホッパ31によって積重ねた状態で供給され、1番下側の板状体11から順次取出され、折曲げユニット32に供給される。折曲げユニット32は図4に示すように両側に案内板40を備え、これらの案内板40の間に押込みプレート41、42によって水平な姿勢の第1の板状体11を押込む。なお右側の押込みプレート42はシリンダ43によって自動可能になっている。

案内板40によって第1の板状体11がほぼL字状に折曲げられ、側板18が前面板16に対してほぼ直角に折曲げられる。さらに折ぐせレバー44およびシリンダ45によって板状体11の側板17の端部の接合片19が折曲げられる。そして右側の案内板40の下側の折曲げ部39の下側を通過する際にL字状に折曲げられた第1の板状体11はさらに90度折曲げられ、前面板16と側板18とがほぼ重合わされた状態になる。

なおここでは案内板40によって第1の板状体11の側板18を前面板16に重合わせるように折曲げているが、案内板40に代えてエアシリンダを用い、エアシリンダのロッドに連結された爪によって第1の板状体11の側板18を前面板16に重なるように折曲げるようにしてもよい。

折曲げられた第1の板状体11は摺動板48に沿って送出される。なおこのときに摺動板48の上側に配されている移送ガイド49によって折曲げられた板状体11が押えられる。そして上記摺動板48おび移送ガイド49の長さ方向への板状体11の移送がローラチェーンで駆動されるドッグ50によって行なわれる。

そしてドッグ50による摺動板48および移送ガイド49の長さ方向への板状体11の搬送の途中において、第1の板状体11の上側に第2の板状体12がホッパ36によって供給される。なお第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12との間にはこのときに移送ガイド49が介在するために、両者は上下方向において移送ガイド49の厚さ分だけ離間した状態になっており、上下方向に離れた状態で同期してドッグ50により搬送される。

ドッグ50は摺動板48の終端の手前側で下方へ下降して退避するが、ドッグ50が下方へ下降する前にキッカ51、53によってさらに搬送される。キッカ51、53はそれぞれシリンダ52、54によって押圧されるようになっている。そしてキッカ53が上側の第2の板状体12を押圧するのに対し、キッカ51は第1の板状体11を押圧する。これらのキッカ51、53の押圧動作によって、第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12とは開閉ガイド62によって上下に少し隙間を保持した状態で積圧ユニット37の下側に挿入される。

積圧ユニット37は図3および図4に示すように前方側の複数の直立ガイド57と後方側の複数の直立ガイド58とを備えている。そしてこれらの直立ガイド57、58の下側には受けガイド59が水平方向に出没自在に設けられている。すなわち受けガイド59は直立ガイド57、58に取付けられたシリンダ60によって出没自在になっている。

積圧ユニット37の下側に供給された第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12とは、受け板61上に移送される。そして受け板61上に配されている開閉ガイド62が第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12の間に挿入されて両者を離間させた状態で保持している。シリンダ63が作動して開閉ガイド62が開かれると、上下の板状体11、12間を離間させる手段がなくなるために、第1の板状体11の上側に第2の板状体12が直接載るとともに、第2の板状体12の背面板22が第1の板状体11の一対の接合片19、20に接触する。

そして両側の受け板61間の隙間を通して押上げバー65が上昇される。すなわち突上げシリンダ66が作動し、この突上げシリンダ66によって押上げバー65が上昇するために、押上げバー65が下側の第1の板状体11を上方へ押上げ、第2の板状体12に圧着させる。これによって第1の板状体11の接合片19、20と第2の板状体12の背面板22との糊剤28による糊付けが行なわれる。なおこのときの板状体11、12に加わる荷重は、先に積圧ユニット37内に導入されて積上げられた複数の結合体70の重量によって行なわれる。

次に上記積圧ユニット37の具体的な構成を図5〜図9によって説明する。とくに図5および図8に示すように積圧ユニット37内には、その前方側、すなわち導入側であって図中左側に4本の直立ガイド57が立設される。また後方側、すなわち排出側であって図中右側にも4本の直立ガイド58が立設される。そしてこれらの直立ガイド57、58の根元側の部分を貫通するように受けガイド59が設けられている。受けガイド59は直立ガイド57、58にそれぞれ支持されたシリンダ60によって出没自在になっており、受けガイド59が突出されると、これらのガイド59によって積圧ユニット37内において積上げられた結合体70をその1番下側の位置において支持する。これに対して押上げバー65が突上げシリンダ66によって突上げられる際には、シリンダ60によって受けガイド59が収納退避される。

なお直立ガイド57、58はその幅方向の位置を開閉可能にしている。すなわち図7に示すように左側のガイド58は調整板86に連結され、調整ねじ90をハンドル93によって回転操作することによって、幅方向に移動するようになっている。また左から2番目の直立ガイド58は調整板87に連結され、調整ねじ91をハンドル98によって回転させることにより、幅方向に移動調整できるようになっている。また右側の直立ガイド58は調整板88に連結され、調整ねじ92をハンドル95によって回転操作することにより幅方向に移動調整されるようになっている。なお右から2番目の直立ガイド58は幅方向の位置が固定されている。

積圧ユニット37内の直立ガイド57、58の上方には図6に示すように、吸引パッド75が設けられ、これらの吸引パッド75が支持板76に支持されるとともに、支持板76がシリンダ77によって昇降自在になっている。また吸引パッド75の図7における両側にはローラチェーン78が配され、モータ79および巻掛け伝動装置によって駆動されるようになっている。そしてローラチェーン78がキッカ80を備え、これらのキッカ80が吸引パッド75によって吸引されて持上げられた結合体70をシュート81側に搬送するようになっている。また図6に示す調整ハンドル83によって、後側の4本の直立ガイド58が後方に移動可能になっており、トラブル時や運転の終了時において直立ガイド58を後方に大きく移動させて積圧ユニット37内を開くようにしている。

また上記積圧ユニット37の直立ガイド57、58の下側の押上げ機構は図9に示すように、一対の突上げシリンダ66を備え、これらのシリンダ66の出力端に上記押上げバー65が取付けられている。押上げバー65は両側の開閉ガイド62間の隙間の部分を通って上方に突出するようになっている。そして図9に示す左側の押上げ機構を調整ねじ97およびハンドル98によって横方向に移動調整可能にし、これによって押上げバー65を含む押上げ機構の幅方向の調整を可能にしている。

このように本実施の形態の箱の組立て装置は、ホッパ31によって供給された第1の板状体11を折曲げユニット32によって折曲げ、糊付けユニット33において折返された接合片19、20の外表面に糊剤28によって糊付けを行なう。そしてこの後ドッグ50によって摺動板48および移送ガイド49に沿ってホッパ36の下側まで送られる。

ホッパ36には第2の板状体12が積重ねてあり、下側から順に第2の板状体12を1枚ずつサクションパッドが吸引して供給するようになっている。そして1番下側の第2の板状体12がサクションパッドに吸引されて第1の板状体11の上側において移送ガイド49上に載せられる。そしてこの後は第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12とがドッグ50によって積圧ユニット37の直前まで移送される。そして積圧ユニット58の直前まで移送された2枚の板状体11、12はシリンダ52、54によってそれぞれ駆動されるキッカ51、53によって積圧ユニット37の直立ガイド57、58の下側に押込まれる。

キッカ51、53は押上げバー65によって板状体11、12が上方に移動するまで前端位置で停止し、板状体11、12の位置決めを行なっている。なおこれらの板状体11、12の先端側の位置決めは、ストッパ67、68によって行なわれる。直立ガイド58の下側に取付けられているストッパ67が第2の板状体12の搬送方向先端側を規制し、押上げバー65に設けられてるストッパ68が第1の板状体11の先端側の位置を規制している。

このように第1の板状体11と第2の板状体12とが積圧ユニット37の直立ガイド57、58の下側に正しく位置決めされた状態でシリンダ63によって開閉ガイド62が開かれる。すると第2の板状体12の支持が失われるために第1の板状体11上に落下し、両者は糊剤28が塗布された接合片19、20の部分で接触する。そしてこの状態で突上げシリンダ66が押上げバー65を下から上方に押上げる。これによって第1の板状体11が第2の板状体12側に圧着されて糊付け接着される。

上記突上げシリンダ66による押上げバー65の押上げ動作に連動してシリンダ60によって受けガイド59が収納位置に退避する。従って突上げシリンダ66によって突上げられる押上げバー65が積圧ユニット37の直立ガイド57、58内に積上げられた複数枚の結合体70の総てを一緒に持上げることになる。そして突上げシリンダ66の上昇端においてシリンダ60によって受けガイド59が閉じ、この後突上げシリンダ66によって押上げバー65が下降する。従ってこのような押上げバー65の下降動作に伴って、1番下側の結合体70が受けガイド59によって受けられた状態で複数の結合体70は積圧ユニット37内に積重ねられた状態を維持する。

従ってこのような組立て装置あるいは組立て方法によれば、第1の板状体と第2の板状体とを組合わせて成る箱を自動的に組立てることが可能になり、人手を全く要することなくしかも箱を組立てることが可能になる。しかも組立てられた結合体は偏平な状態で供給されるために、そのまま供給して使用時に立体的に組立てることが可能になる。よって箱の供給時および保管時にスペースを要することがない。
