Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a general-purpose technique for attaching a guide to a cutting tool such as a circular saw or a cutter.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In a cutting tool such as a circular saw, when cutting a workpiece with a blade, a guide arranged in parallel with the blade is slid along the side surface of the workpiece, thereby guiding the cutting operation by the blade. It has been known. Such a guide is generally called a parallel ruler or a lip fence. In such prior art, a pole extending from the guide to the cutting tool side is generally fixed to the base of the cutting tool, whereby the guide is attached to the cutting tool.
[0003]
By the way, as a conventional guide mounting method, as is often used in the so-called popular type, when the guide is mounted on the base on the cutting tool side via one pole, it is often used in higher model or large model. In some cases, the guide is attached to the base via two (or more) poles. In the former case, a pole fixing portion is provided at one place on the base of the cutting tool, and the guide is attached to the base by fixing the pole to the fixing portion. On the other hand, in the latter case, a fixing portion corresponding to each pole is provided on the base of the cutting tool by the number of poles, and each pole is fixed by the corresponding fixing portion to attach the guide to the base.
[0004]
According to such a conventional guide mounting method, in order to mount the guide to the cutting tool, a configuration is adopted in which fastening portions corresponding to the number of poles are provided on the cutting tool side. There are inconveniences such as that the guide cannot be attached to a popular type of cutting tool.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention has been made in view of such a point, and an object of the present invention is to provide a technique useful for further improving versatility regarding guide attachment in a cutting tool.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the invention described in each claim is configured. According to the first aspect of the present invention, a cutting tool having a cutting tool main body, a base, and a guide is configured. The cutting tool body has a blade for cutting the workpiece while moving in a predetermined cutting direction. A "blade" typically cuts a workpiece by being driven to rotate, and a "cutting tool" typically includes a portable circular saw for cutting woodwork, a masonry work. Or a portable cutter for metalwork cutting. It is typically preferable that the “cutting tool main body” includes a blade and a motor for driving the blade. The base is connected to the cutting tool body and contacts the upper surface of the workpiece. Preferably, the base is typically constructed of an aluminum alloy for weight reduction. The guide is attached in parallel with the base to a fastening portion formed on the base, and slides along the side surface of the workpiece to guide the blade to proceed in the cutting direction, For example, it is preferable to use it as a parallel ruler.
[0007]
Further, in the present invention, an attachment for fixing the guide to the base at a position other than the fixing portion is detachably attached to the base. Since this attachment is detachably attached to the base, for example, when attaching a guide of a type that is fixed to the base at one place, the attachment is removed and stored, and the attachment is fixed to the base at two places. When the guide is attached, it is possible to attach the attachment to the base and to use the fastening of the guide to the base in cooperation with the fastening portion provided on the base. As a result, there has been provided a technology capable of flexibly responding to a change in the mounting position of the guide with respect to the base. Note that examples of the configuration of the attachment broadly include a form in which the guide can be fixed to the base, such as a screw, a bolt, and a one-touch fastener.
[0008]
(Invention of claim 2)
It is preferable that the guide of the cutting tool has a sliding portion and a plurality of poles. The sliding contact portion is configured to extend in parallel with the traveling direction of the blade and to be in sliding contact with the workpiece, and each pole is configured to extend from the sliding contact portion to the base side and be fixed to the base. Is preferred. It is preferable that the attachment has a pole insertion hole through which at least one of the plurality of poles is inserted, and a screw that releasably fastens the pole inserted through the pole insertion hole.
[0009]
By using a configuration in which the guide is attached to the base by releasably fastening the pole inserted in the pole insertion hole with a screw, the guide can be easily engaged and disengaged from the base, further improving practicality. It becomes possible. According to claim 2, various attachments such as a form in which one of the two poles is fastened to the attachment, a manner in which one or more of the three or more poles are fastened to the corresponding attachment, and the like. It is intended to broadly cover the usage form of.
[0010]
(Invention of claim 3)
Further, in the electric power tool according to the second aspect, it is preferable that the pole fixed to the attachment is configured to be further supported by a pole supporting portion formed on the base portion. By supporting the pole at a plurality of locations using the base in addition to the attachment, it is possible to prevent backlash and inclination of the guide attached to the base. From the viewpoint of securely holding the guide, it is preferable that the pole supporting portion formed on the base portion be configured to contact the pole in a planar or linear manner to support the pole. Further, the pole may be configured to be supported on multiple sides, such as the top, bottom, or side surfaces of the pole.
