従来のチャンネル切り換え方法としては、同期信号の有無に関わらずユーザーが指定したチャンネルを選局するものや、特開平8−336079号公報に示されているように、同期信号の有無に基づいて放送データがあるチャンネルのみを自動的に切り換えるものがあった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、上記従来のチャンネル切り換え法では、選局したチャンネルの同期信号の有無に関わらずチャンネルが切り換えられてユーザーが視聴できないチャンネルが選局されるため、ユーザー自身が視聴できるチャンネルになるまで選局操作をしなければならなかったり、チャンネル切り換え時に同期信号の有無を判定するため、選局動作に時間がかかってユーザーに不快感を与えるといった問題があった。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題を解決するために、本発明のテレビジョン受像機は、チャンネルを選局して信号を受信する第1チューナーと、第1チューナーが受信した信号に同期信号が存在するか否かを判定する第1同期信号判定手段と、第1同期信号判定手段の判定結果を対応するチャンネルと共にチャンネル情報として記憶する記憶手段と、チャンネル選局指示に対して記憶手段に記憶されたチャンネル情報に基づき同期信号が存在すると判定されたチャンネルに対してのみ選局動作を行なう第2チューナーを有することで、ユーザーのチャンネル切り換えに際して目的のチャンネルへ素早く切り換えることができる。
