する方法が人手によって行われている。従って、コイル
の板厚管理のためには正確なコイルの肉厚測定が前提と

板厚を外れたコイルを生産し続けることとなり無駄が生
じるという問題点もあった。更に最近では、板厚厳格材
と称される板厚偏差がミクロンオーダーの範囲内で要求
される製品が増えてきており、従来の鋼板板厚の算出方
法では、図3に示されるように、バックリングと称され
るコイル内径の変形があると、測定場所によって誤差
(T1≠T2)を生じ正確なコイルの肉厚を測定するこ
とができず、ひいては正確なコイルの板厚を算出するこ

とにしてコイルの肉厚を算出し、このコイルの肉厚と鋼
板の巻き数からコイルの板厚をライン上で算出するよう
にしたことを特徴とするコイルの板厚測定方法と、圧延
ラインの出側において、テンションリール上に鋼板の巻
き取りを終了したコイルの外周に向け昇降動するコイル
カーに、該コイルカーがコイル外径に接触したことを検
出する検出器を設けるとともに、該検出器からの信号を
受けてコイルカーの基準位置からの上昇量を算出する手
段を設け、算出したコイルカーの上昇量をもとにしてコ
イルの肉厚を算出し、このコイルの肉厚と鋼板の巻き数
からコイルの板厚を算出する演算手段を設けたことを特

が、本発明では該コイルカー3に鋼板の巻き取りを終了
したコイル1の外径に接触したことを検出する検出器を
設けるとともに、該検出器からの信号を受けてコイルカ
ー3の基準位置からの上昇量を算出する手段を設け、算
出したコイルカー3の上昇量をもとにしてコイル1の肉
厚を算出する演算手段を設けたものとして、コイル1の
肉厚をライン上で正確かつ短時間に測定することができ

の板厚を算出し、更に各テンションリール毎に事前に計
算してあるコイルの重量によるテンションリールの傾き
や、ゼロ点調整等からなる補正係数(テンションリール
の剛性因子α)を加味して最終的な板厚を算出する。そ
の後は、板厚が所定値の誤差範囲内にあるか否かをチェ
ックして、不良品の場合にはその警告を発し、オペレー
ターに注意を促し、所定の板厚から外ずれた不良品の発

き、更にはバックリングの影響を受けることがなく測定
精度もミクロンオーダーで高精度に行うことができるも
のである。よって本発明は従来の問題点を一掃したコイ
ルの板厚測定方法および装置として、産業の発展に寄与
