Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a laminated material for a structure using a light and soft material such as a poplar tree.
SOLUTION: Small pieces 12 are molded into blocks by stacking veneers 13 made of a white poplar log and bonding the veneers 13 with an adhesive of a phenol resin or the like and fabricating finger joints 12a on one end of the laminate. In addition, the small pieces 12 are joined together with the finger joints 12a and bonded using the adhesive into laminated boards 11, and a plurality of the laminated boards 11 are stacked and bonded with an adhesive to obtain the laminated material for the structure of a column.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

2. Description of the Related Art As a method for manufacturing structural laminated wood, a thickness of 2
A method is known in which small pieces of muku wood of 0 to 30 mm are laminated and adhered to each other with a constant thickness while adhering width and length in the same fiber direction to form a uniform long wood. Further, there is known a method in which a long veneer having a thickness of several millimeters is made from raw wood, dried, cut into veneers of an appropriate size, laminated and adhered to each other to form laminated wood. .

By the way, poplar, which is widely distributed in the temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, grows fast and can be stably supplied, and because it is light and soft and easy to process, it is used as a pulp material. It is also used for materials such as plywood, match stems, boards, rockers, and boxes. However, the method of making small pieces of Muku lumber from raw wood and joining them to manufacture structural laminated wood is not so good when using light and soft raw wood such as poplar because there are many parts that have to be removed due to poor properties. The yield of small pieces is poor and the productivity is low. Further, the laminated wood produced by joining the small pieces of Muku wood is apt to be twisted, and thus is not suitable for use as a long structural material such as a pillar. On the other hand, the method of laminating and adhering long veneers made of light and soft logs is not suitable for long structural laminated lumber such as pillars because the veneers tend to warp. The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object thereof is to provide a method that enables the production of structural laminated wood from a light soft material such as poplar.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, since the small pieces are formed by laminating and bonding the single plates, the yield is improved and the productivity is improved as compared with the case where the small pieces of muku are made from raw wood.
Further, since the laminated plate is formed by joining and adhering the small pieces, the warpage can be reduced as compared with the case where the long single plates are laminated and adhered.
Further, since the laminated boards are laminated and adhered, it becomes possible to manufacture a long structural material such as a pillar from a light and soft log. According to the second aspect of the present invention, since the poplar that can be stably supplied is used, it is possible to manufacture the structural laminated lumber at low cost and contribute to the effective use of forest resources.

The structure of the structural laminated wood 10 is as described above, and since the single plate 13 is laminated and adhered to form the small piece 12, the yield is better than that in the case of making a small piece of solid wood, and the productivity is high. Is improved. Moreover, since the laminated plate 11 is formed by joining and adhering the small pieces 12, the warpage can be reduced as compared with the case where the long single plates are laminated and adhered. Furthermore, the laminated board 11
Since they are laminated and adhered, it becomes possible to manufacture a long structure material such as a pillar from a light and soft log. Particularly, according to the manufacturing method of the present embodiment, since white poplar that can be stably supplied is used, the structural laminated wood 10 can be manufactured at low cost.
Can be manufactured, and can contribute to the effective use of forest resources.
