Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bite block using a thermoplastic material solving the problem that a conventional bite block is large, becomes an obstacle in the oral cavity, is inferior to stability, takes time in production and has a fear of careless swallow, capable of being simply operated, not becoming an obstacle in the oral cavity to show stability and having no fear of careless swallow.
SOLUTION: A box-shaped hard material 2 is covered with the thermoplastic material 1 to stabilize the upper and lower teeth by fitting them to the individual marks applied to the thermoplastic material. The portion of the hard material keeps necessary opening quantity and the hard material is held by gut, a rope, tweezers or the like by providing a through-hole 3 to the hard material to prevent careless swallow and work such as dental treatment, dental sanitation, the caring of the oral cavity or the like can be safely performed.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

Description: BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a bite block used as a medical device. 2. Description of the Related Art In dental care and oral care, patients are opened with gauze or the like wrapped in a piece of wood, formed with a dental resin according to the individual patient, or made of existing resin. Although there was an opener, the stability was sometimes poor, and it took a lot of time to produce, and sometimes it was obstructive in the oral cavity. Although there is an opening device for which a patent has been filed, it is difficult to cope with disorder of the dentition, and there is a risk of accidentally swallowing and clogging the throat. [0003] In the present invention, the amount of opening required when performing dental care, dental hygiene, oral care, etc., is maintained, so that it is not disturbed in the oral cavity, and is crushed. The object of the present invention is to provide an easy-to-use bite block having a hardness and elasticity that is stable, hard to be detached, sanitary and not accidentally swallowed. [0004] In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, a thermoplastic material is used on the surface of the bite block in contact with the teeth so that the surfaces of the bite blocks are firmly adhered to the teeth and stabilized in the oral cavity. By inserting a box-shaped hard material inside, the bite can be stopped and the required opening amount can be maintained. By providing the through-holes, it is possible to take measures to prevent accidental ingestion. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, a byte block according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings showing an actual form. FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing an example of an embodiment of a bite block according to the present invention, FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the bite block shown in FIG. 1 as viewed from the occlusal surface, and FIG. FIG. 4 is an explanatory view of the opening amount from the side, and FIG.
FIG. 5 is an explanatory view from the side of the maximum opening amount with the bite block mounted thereon, and FIG. 5 is a front view with the bite block of FIG. 1 mounted. [0006] By using ethylene vinyl acetate or Clayton, which has little adverse effect on the human body, as the thermoplastic material (1), a trace of teeth can be easily attached with good safety and stability. Hard material (2) covered with thermoplastic material (1)
By using a resin material such as methyl methacrylate, polycarbonate, or polysulfone used in dental care, a bite block having a light, necessary hardness and easy to process can be formed. By providing the through-hole (3), it is possible to hold it with a thread, a rope, tweezers or the like, and there is an effect of preventing accidental ingestion when it comes off in the oral cavity. The tooth contact surface of the bite block (A-B A
-C) The opening amount can be adjusted by changing the length. By keeping the width of the tooth contact surface (ab) of the bite block small enough to cover the one-sided occlusal surface, it does not disturb the work in the oral cavity, and the tongue is cleaned and treated. You can do it. [0011] The bite block of the present invention is stable in the oral cavity by using a thermoplastic material, the required opening amount is maintained without disturbing the work, and the burden on the patient is reduced. There are few, and dental care, dental hygiene, and oral care can be performed.
