五明等の方法によってα−グルコシダーゼ阻害活性を測
定したところ、これまで有効とされてきたいずれの成分
よりも少なくとも10倍以上強力であった。従って充分
に効力のある成分と判断することができた。しかしなが
ら、前記抽出成分のα−グルコシダーゼ阻害活性が非常
に強いことに起因して、例え、飲用者の1000人に一
人あるいは10000人に一人の頻度であっても低血糖
症状に基づく事故があってはならないと考える。実際に
約3g程を約100ml程の沸騰した水で抽出して飲用
してみると低血糖に基づく症状が出現した。しかしなが
ら、このような低血糖に対する対策が取られたα−グル
コシダーゼ阻害作用を利用した健康補助食品は全くない
し、前記阻害作用を利用した医薬品においても全く知ら
れていない。また、インシュリンの効きすぎに起因する
低血糖は砂糖や飴を数グラム服用することで簡単に改善
するが、α−グルコシダーゼ阻害成分の場合には砂糖や
飴では効果がない。

もよいし、粉末としてから沸騰水で抽出してもよい。こ
のとき単糖類の混合方法は、単糖類を水溶液中に予め溶
解させてから沸騰させて抽出してもよいし、抽出後に単
糖類を溶解させた液を混合しても良い。がどちらかとい
うと単糖類を溶解した水溶液で沸騰させて抽出した方が
味に深みがでて美味しくなるのでより好ましい。

糖を確実に防止ししかも服用中止と共に直ぐに効果が消
滅するという特徴を示した。
