構造に関するものである。 【0002】 【従来の技術】従来、ピラーとルーフサイドに跨ってカ
ーテン状に展開するエアバッグ袋体を備えたエアバッグ
装置搭載車両におけるピラーガーニッシュ構造は、ピラ
ーガーニッシュのピラーインナーパネル取付部とフェー
ス部とが一体からなり、エアバッグ展開時に、ピラーガ
ーニッシュ取付部のエアバッグ展開側が局部的に変形し
一部開口する事でエアバッグ展開を図る構造になってい
る。(図1) 【0003】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、上記構
造では、ピラーガーニッシュ断面におけるピラーガーニ
ッシュ取付部を境に、エアバッグ展開側が局部的に大変
形し開口(図2)する為、ピラーガーニッシュが変形応
力の集中部で破損しやすくなる。 【0004】その為、ピラーガーニッシュの材料として
は、大変形に耐え、且つ、破損しにくいという特性を持
つ高価な材料を使用せざるを得ない。 【0005】尚且つ、例え破損しても、その破断面で人
体を傷つけない様に、ピラーガーニッシュ表面を表皮で
覆う構造が必要となり、更にコストが高くなると言う課
題が有った。 【0006】 【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、頭部保護エア
バッグ装置搭載車両におけるピラーガーニッシュを、エ
アバック展開時の応力を緩和する構造とすることで、特
に高価な材料や表皮を使用することなく得ることを最も
主要な特徴とする。 【0007】 【発明の実施の形態】頭部保護エアバッグ装置搭載車両
におけるピラーガーニッシュを特に高価な材料や表皮を
使用することなく得るという目的を、ピラーガーニッシ
ュを取付部とフェース部で構成し、且つ、そのブラケッ
ト部とフェース部との締結を、少なくともエアバッグ袋
体の展開側はクリップ構造体にて繋止する事で、エアバ
ッグ袋体の展開時にこのクリップ構造体が外れ、ブラケ
ット部とフェース部とを開口させることにより、開口時
に変形する部位の断面周長を長くすることで実現した。 【0008】 【実施例】図3に、本発明の実施例1を示す。また、図
4は、実施例1のエアバッグ展開時のピラーガーニッシ
ュの断面形状を示す。 【0009】ピラーガーニッシュ(1)は、フェース部
(1B)とブラケット部(1C)に分割した構成を取っ
ており、エアバック袋体(4)の展開時には、クリップ
部(1E)が外れる事で、開口時の局部適な大変形を押

D)の固定は、ブラケット部の固定孔にフェース部の爪
を嵌合させるのが好ましいが、熱溶着やクリップ等で固

フェース部のエアバッグ展開時の開口側の繋止をマジッ
クテープ(登録商標)で実施した例である。 【0012】 【発明の効果】以上説明したように、本発明の構造で
は、従来よりも脆性の低い廉価な材料を使用でき、且
つ、表面を覆う表皮を廃止でき、頭部保護エアバッグ装
置搭載車両におけるピラーガーニッシュを低コスト化で
きるという利点がある。また、ピラー開口面を開きやす
いため、頭部保護エアバッグ装置のメンテナンスする際
の作業性が向上し、また、フェース部のみの変更で多仕
様に適応しやすいという特徴も有する。
