下区画3との境界部4fには、通水性仕切材を用いても
よいが、通水性仕切材を用いることなく、充填材10a
と充填材10bとの比重差で境界部を形成させてもよ
い。さらに、上区画2の下部であって境界部4fの直上
には反応用散気部材5aを、下区画3の下方であって通
水性仕切材4bの直下には洗浄用散気部材5bを設ける
とともに、洗浄排水引抜口8が下区画3の上部にくるよ
うに洗浄排水排出管7が配されている。そして、移送ポ
ンプ6を介して洗浄排水を引き抜きながら、これを前槽
に戻すことができる。ここで、上区画2は主に有機物の
酸化やアンモニアの硝化を行う好気反応部として作用
し、下区画3は主に懸濁性固形物(SS)の捕捉を行な
