以下に、本発明の望ましい実施の形態を、図面を参照して詳細に説明する。
図１は、本発明の一実施態様に係る膜濾過システムを示しており、とくにその濾過処理時の流路形態を示している。供給されてきた原水１は、原水槽２へ導入され、堰板３を越流した原水１が、配管４を介して膜濾過ユニット５の下部側に供給される。膜濾過ユニット５より得られた濾過水は、配管６を介して逆洗水槽７に送られ、一旦逆洗水槽７に貯留され、その後に処理水８として採水される。本実施態様では、原水槽２から膜濾過ユニット５へ原水を供給する配管４からは下方へ分岐する分岐管９が設けられ、この分岐管９は、水頭差を利用して、たとえば、膜濾過ユニット５と分岐管９の大気開放末端との間の水頭差を利用して、膜濾過ユニット５から排水可能な排水管を構成している。分岐管９上には開閉弁１０が配備されており、分岐管９は、下流の排水系（図示略）へと接続されている。

FIG. 1 shows a membrane filtration system according to one embodiment of the present invention, and particularly shows a channel configuration at the time of the filtration process. The supplied raw water 1 is introduced into the raw water tank 2, and the raw water 1 flowing over the weir plate 3 is supplied to the lower side of the membrane filtration unit 5 via the pipe 4. The filtered water obtained from the membrane filtration unit 5 is sent to a backwash water tank 7 via a pipe 6, temporarily stored in the backwash water tank 7, and then collected as treated water 8. In the present embodiment, a branch pipe 9 that branches downward from a pipe 4 that supplies raw water from the raw water tank 2 to the membrane filtration unit 5 is provided. By utilizing the head difference between the unit 5 and the open end of the branch pipe 9, a drain pipe capable of draining water from the membrane filtration unit 5 is configured. An on-off valve 10 is provided on the branch pipe 9, and the branch pipe 9 is connected to a downstream drainage system (not shown).
