The immunodetection kit includes an antibody that specifically reacts with one antibody or cGMP-specific PDE, an immunodetection reagent, and a means for including each. Most commonly, immunodetection reagents will most commonly have a label that binds to the antibody or a label that binds to the second binding ligand. The immunodetection kit may also utilize antibodies against other species, such as the anti-PKG1β and anti-β-catenin antibodies described above.
The nucleic acid detection kit includes a nucleic acid primer capable of hybridizing with the separated cGMP-specific PDE nucleic acid fragment or a separated sequence of the cGMP-specific PDE and amplifying the cGMP-specific PDE nucleic acid fragment.
Such kits are used to detect the amount of cGMP-specific PDE protein or mRNA, respectively, in a neoplastic tissue sample. Detection of elevated levels of cGMP-specific PDE protein or mRNA in neoplastic tissue compared to normal tissue indicates that neoplasia has the potential to be treated by cGMP-specific PDE inhibitors.
