Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an intermediate waterproof joint for wires on a wire harness assembling work table. SOLUTION: Terminals are connected to the ends of wires and insulation coating is stripped at intermediate parts of the wires to expose the cores for intermediate connection. Terminals connected to the ends of a plurality of wires including the wires are connected to one connector to form a temporarily bound harness. A plurality of temporarily bound harnesses are then bound and, on a work table for binding the plurality of temporarily bound harnesses to assemble a true wire harness, intermediate connection cores of the plurality of temporarily bound harness are collected and welded by means of resistance welding. Subsequently, the welded part is filled with silicon and an adhesive sheet is wound on the outer circumferential surface of the silicon.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, when connecting a large number of wires such as three or more wires, a terminal concentrated splice technique shown in FIG. 5 is often adopted. In this terminal concentrated splice, the terminal of the electric wire w to be connected is peeled to expose the core wire c, and the ends of these core wires c are aligned and resistance welding is performed by the resistance welding machine 1. If it is necessary to take a waterproofing measure for the welded portion 2, the welded portion 2 is inserted into a resin cap 4 held inside the case 3, and then filled with a waterproofing agent 5 melted at a high temperature. , The water blocking agent 5 is cured.

In the case of the terminal-spliced splice shown in FIG. 5, the number of electric wires is increased because the connection is made at the end of each electric wire. Double. Also, the wires to be connected are
When belonging to different temporary binding harnesses, it is not easy to perform the work of aligning the wire terminals on the wire harness assembly work table. In the case of the waterproof type, a resin cap must be arranged on the work table, and a water-stopping agent filling machine for filling the resin cap must be mounted. Some waterproofing agents cannot be used on a workbench. Therefore, it is not possible to form a terminal-concentrated splice by a line operation on a workbench, and the operation is performed off-line, resulting in a problem that the workability is extremely poor and costly.

On the other hand, when the later-described joint connector is used, it is possible to perform in-line work on a work table for assembling a wire harness. The final insertion terminal is apt to be damaged before this binding,
There is a problem that it takes time and labor to perform the final binding. Furthermore, a joint connector and a terminal to be connected to each electric wire are required, so that the number of parts is increased, and labor for connecting the terminal to the electric wire, connecting the terminal to the connector, and the like are required. Work is also required. In particular, in the case of a waterproof type, a joint connector of a waterproof specification is required, and there is a problem that the number of parts further increases.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention firstly connects a terminal to an end of an electric wire and peels off an insulating coating at an intermediate portion of the electric wire to form an intermediate connection. The core wires are exposed, and a plurality of electric wires including the above electric wires are connected to terminals connected to their terminals to one connector to form a temporary binding harness, and the plural temporary binding harnesses are finally bound. On the worktable for assembling the wire harness, the core wires for the intermediate connection of the plurality of temporary binding harnesses are bundled and welded by resistance welding with a resistance welding machine,
The present invention provides an intermediate waterproof connection method for electric wires, characterized in that the welded portion is filled with silicon, and then an adhesive sheet is wound around the outer peripheral surface of the silicon.

[0008] According to the above method, the electric wire from which the core wire for the intermediate connection has been peeled is temporarily bound, and this temporarily bound harness is connected to the wire of the other temporarily bound harness by a resistance welding machine on a wire harness assembly work table. If welded, the intermediate connection can be made in-line. The resistance welding machine may be mounted on a work table which is sequentially conveyed, or may be arranged so as to be positioned on the work table at a required stop position of the work table to be conveyed.

In addition, since silicon having a viscosity at normal temperature is filled into the welded portion using a tube or the like as a water stopping agent after the resistance welding, the water stopping agent can be filled on a work table. In addition, after filling and applying the water-stopping agent silicone, since it has a viscosity at room temperature, it is also possible to wind the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet and package it. Thus, the electric wires can be connected to each other in an in-line operation on the work table. In addition, in the case of the terminal concentrated splice, a hardening time of the water stopping agent is required, and the working time cannot be reduced. However, according to the method of the present invention, this point can be improved and the working efficiency can be improved. Can be. In addition, compared to the case where a waterproof joint connector is used, there is no need to insert the terminals on the workbench, so that it is possible to prevent the occurrence of damage to the inserted terminals and the accompanying reduction in the electrical connection reliability.

With the above-mentioned intermediate connection structure, the amount of electric wires can be halved as compared with the case where terminal splicing is simply performed, and the cost and weight can be reduced from this point as well. Also, compared to the case where a joint connector is used, the number of parts can be significantly reduced, and the joint connector needs to be wound around the wire harness with a tape, so that the wire harness has a partially large diameter. However, in the intermediate waterproof connection structure of the present invention, the wire harness does not partially increase in diameter,
There is also an advantage that the wiring space for the wiring harness can be reduced.

Also, compared to the terminal concentrated splice, the core wire exposed by peeling the middle of the wire is resistance-welded, so that the required number of wires can be simply halved, resulting in significant cost reduction and light weight. Can be achieved. Furthermore, in the case of using a joint connector, if the prevention specification is adopted, a waterproof connector having a complicated configuration is required, and the number of electric wires is increased similarly to the terminal concentrated splice. Can be all eliminated.
