The thermal switch 4 having such a configuration is
It is inserted through the through hole of the insulating member 3 and housed in the first recess 2e. At this time, the thermal switch 4 is fixed to the insulating member 3 by inserting the through hole 4f of the first terminal piece 4d into the projection 3g of the first insulating portion 3c and caulking. Further, the base 4g of the first terminal 4d is guided by the guide 3f, so that the thermal switch 4 is securely fixed. Also,
Since the end of the bent piece 4h where the bending line X is located is located on the first insulating portion 3c, the insulation between the battery lid 2 and the first terminal portion T1 is reliably achieved.

In the first embodiment of the battery cover according to the present invention, as described above, the battery B is mounted on the battery cell 1 and the battery cover 2 made of aluminum is negatively charged. The first terminal piece 4d forms a negative electrode via the second terminal piece 4e welded to the lid 2 and the thermal switch 4, and the rivet 7 is connected to a positive electrode plate (not shown). It functions as an electrode part of a positive electrode, and an area is gained by the metal plate 8.

Next, a method of manufacturing the battery B using the first embodiment of the battery cover of the present invention will be described. First, the insulating member 3 is positioned on the battery cover 2 by the storage portion 2b. The thermal switch 4 is inserted in the rectangular hole 3b while being stored in the first concave portion 2e, and the waterproof sheet 5 is attached so as to cover the upper surface thereof. In a state where the gasket 6, the battery cover 2, and the insulating member 3 are sandwiched, the rivet 7 is caulked to the metal plate 8, and each member is fixed to form the battery cover unit U. Further, a casing of the battery cell 1 in which the electrode plate and the like are disposed in the inside 1c is formed, and the casing of the battery cell 1 and the battery lid unit U are dried. The reason for drying in this way is that lithium easily reacts with water. Then, the battery lid unit U is welded to the housing of the battery cell 1 by laser welding, the inside 1c is sealed, an electrolytic solution is injected from an injection port 1d formed in the side wall 1b, and the injection port 1d is sealed. . Thereafter, the electrolyte scattered at the time of injection is washed with water and dried, and the battery B is manufactured.

As described above, in the process of manufacturing the battery B, the battery cover 2 is exposed to the surrounding environment in which the electrolytic solution is scattered and the water at the time of washing is scattered. Since they are securely fixed, these parts do not shift due to water pressure or the like. Further, since the waterproof sheet 5 is attached so as to cover the thermal switch 4, there is no possibility that the thermal switch 4 gets wet. In addition, if each component is incorporated in the battery cover 2, the battery cover unit U can be manufactured.
Very simple.

Although not shown, a storage recess is formed in the first recess 2e on the side facing the second recess 2f so as to communicate with the first recess 2e. A metal terminal made of an Al-Ni clad material is welded to the second terminal piece 4 so as to be laminated on the metal terminal.
The second connection terminal 4c from which e has been removed may be welded to house the second connection terminal 4c. At this time,
If the depth of the storage recess is substantially equal to or larger than the thickness of the second connection terminal 4c and the entire metal terminal, the thickness can be reduced. In addition, the metal terminal does not necessarily need to be a clad material, and may be formed of a normal metal plate depending on the material of the plate-like member 2a. Other features are the same as those of the battery cover unit U in which the first embodiment of the battery cover of the present invention is used.

A third embodiment of the battery cover of the present invention is as follows.
Although the shape is almost the same as in the first embodiment, a third concave portion 2h is provided instead of the concave portion 2g. Other components are the same as those of the first embodiment, and the same members are denoted by the same reference numerals and description thereof will be omitted. Next, a battery cover unit U2 in which the third embodiment of the battery cover of the present invention is used will be described.
Is a frame-shaped main body portion 12a formed of a molded product of a synthetic resin such as PP (polypropylene), PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) or the like, having an elongated rectangular shape and forming a rectangular rectangular hole 12b inside, and a main body 12a. A first insulating portion 12c formed in a reverse convex shape downward from one end of the portion 12a;

The protection device for the battery cover units U, U1, and U2 in which the battery cover of the present invention is used has been described with the thermal switch 4 in the above description, but a PTC, a thermal fuse, or the like may be used. Further, in the above description, the form in which the waterproof sheet 5 is used in order to prevent the protection devices from being wetted with water has been described. However, waterproofing may be achieved by applying a sealant made of a viscous synthetic resin. . In the above description, an example in which the present invention is used for a lithium ion secondary battery has been described. However, it is needless to say that the present invention can be used for any secondary battery.

The battery cover of the present invention includes a metal plate-like member for sealing the battery cell of the secondary battery and shielding the inside of the battery cell. The plate-like member is used for explosion-proof or fire-proof. Can be attached, and the plate-shaped member is formed with a first recess for accommodating the protection device.
Since the protection device can be accommodated in the battery lid and there is no need to attach the protection device to the side wall or the like, it is possible to provide a battery lid that contributes to miniaturization and thinning of the battery. In addition, since the protection device may be housed in the battery lid, a battery lid having good assemblability and contributing to mass productivity can be provided.
