ともに、支持板40と押圧板30とが、支持板40を第
1の方向へ回動させた際に押圧板30を解除位置へ移動
させ(図1(a)参照)、支持板40を第2の方向へ回
動させた際に押圧板30を押圧位置(図1(b)参照)
へ移動させる連動機構50によって連結されているの
で、支持板40を第1の方向へ回動させると、図1
(a)に示すようにセット口1aの開口が広がる(開口
高さがh4となる)とともに、押圧板30が解除位置へ
と移動することとなる。したがって、広がったセット口
1aから容易に用紙Pをセットすることができる。その
後、支持板40を第2の方向へ回動させると、図1
(b)に示すように押圧板30が押圧位置へ移動し、用
紙が給送可能な状態となる。この状態では支持板40が
給紙方向へ向かって下り傾斜状に傾斜しており、セット
された用紙Pがその自重で支持板40の上面を滑るよう
にして給紙ローラ2へ向かうので、図4(b)に示した
ような後端押さえ7がなくても給紙動作は確実になされ
る。以上のように、この給紙装置によれば、用紙がセッ
トしやすくなり、後端押さえを設ける必要もないという
効果が得られる。 (b)押圧板30の、用紙搬送方向の幅Wが、給紙対象
