Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-sided bookshelf capable of being brought near either of left and right walls and manufactured inexpensively because of the absence of a door, allowing books read every day to be easily taken out, also serving as an ornament for a room, preventing an object set out thereon from falling due to an earthquake, and enabling temporarily required things such as a newspaper, a magazine, a mail-order catalog and an advertisement to be housed in a rack. SOLUTION: In the double-sided bookshelf, a magazine rack is mounted on one side, and the other side comes into contact with the wall because it is not provided with anything. The height thereof is taken as a height enabling a person to take the book therefrom even when he or she is laid down. A decorating board is mounted on the edge of a top board and taken as a non-slip making the object thereon hard to drop. Even a large-sized book can be taken out of either of the sides in the section whose inside is not partitioned. Many small-sized books such as an independent volume and a comic book can be taken in from both of the sides in the section whose inside is partitioned. Its height is taken as about 90 cm because a sense of oppression is brought about when it is too tall. Its breadth varies according to the size of the room.
