Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting display device, which is enhanced in visibility by increasing the visual field angles of respective luminous bodies and effectively shielding incoming light, such as sunlight, even if luminous bodies, such as LEDs, are arranged at high density. SOLUTION: The light-emitting portions of the respective LED 1, constituting the displaying surface of the light-emitting display device 4, are formed flat as light emitting surface 1a to prevent the interference of the LEDs with each other by the formation of the light-emitting surfaces to hemispherical surfaces. The columns in the horizontal direction of the respective LEDs are arranged with light-shielding plates 2, so as to partition the respective columns to prevent the irradiation of the light-emitting surfaces 1a of the respective LEDs 1 with sunlight SL. In addition, the eaves parts 2b of the light-shielding plates 2 are diagonally cut to slopes, by which the visual field angle α3 are widened toward the lower side of the light-emitting display device 4 to make the viewing by a person existing below the light emitting display device 4 easier.

FIG. 5 shows a state where a light shielding plate for preventing sunlight SL from directly hitting the LED 10 is arranged. The light-shielding plate 11 is arranged horizontally with respect to the arrangement of the LEDs 10 so as to partition the rows of the LEDs 10 in the horizontal direction. This prevents sunlight SL emitted from above the light emitting display device from directly hitting the LED 10.
In order to avoid direct irradiation of sunlight, it is necessary to increase the amount of protrusion of the light shielding plate 11. For this reason, even in the case of LEDs arranged at the density shown in FIG. 4, the viewing angle α2 of each LED 10 is further narrowed to half or less of the viewing angle α1.

In general, the light emitting display device is often arranged at a position higher than the position (eye line) of a viewer's eyes, so that the viewing angle, especially the viewing angle due to the light shielding plate 11, is reduced. This makes it extremely difficult to visually recognize the display content from below.

The LED 1 has a shape in which the hemispherical portion 10a of the conventional LED 10 is omitted, and a portion that emits light by the light emitting portion LP is a flat surface (hereinafter referred to as a “light emitting surface”) 1a.
It is formed as. As described above, since each LED 1 emits light from the flat light emitting surface 1a, the viewing angle α3 of each LED is 160 ° to 17 even if the LEDs 1 are arranged at high density.
This is extremely large at 0 °, and the visibility is improved.

FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment. This embodiment shows a configuration in which a light shielding plate is arranged for the arrangement of the LEDs 1 shown in FIG. The light-shielding plate 2 is arranged horizontally so as to divide each LED group in the horizontal direction among a group of a large number of LEDs 1 arranged on the substrate 3. The light-shielding plate 2 has a configuration in which an eaves portion 2b is extended from a support portion 2a disposed between the upper and lower LEDs 1 in front of a light emitting surface 1a of each LED 1. The eaves portion 2b of the light-emitting display device 4 An inclined surface 2ba formed obliquely toward the lower front is formed, and by forming the inclined surface 2ba, the viewing angle α4 is configured to be widened toward a person who views the display surface from below the light emitting display device 4.

The formation angle A of the slope 2ba and the eaves 2b
Of the external light such as the sunlight SL, the viewing angle α3, and the visible range from below the light-emitting display device 4 are determined by the set amount of the projection amount W1. That is, the formation angle A and the projection amount W1 of the eaves portion 2b may be determined in consideration of the arrangement position of the light emitting display device 4, the position of the person who views the display device, the line of sight, and the like. In addition, the slope formed with the formation angle A is formed so as to be inclined toward the position of the eyes of the viewer who views the display device, so that the viewing angle on the side of the viewer is widened.

FIG. 3 shows a second embodiment. Reference numeral 5 denotes a light shielding plate, which differs from the light shielding plate 1 shown in FIG. 2 in the following point. First, the illustrated light shielding plate 5 is formed such that its width (thickness) W2 is equal to the arrangement interval of the LEDs 1 including the slope corresponding to the slope 1ba of the light shielding plate 1 shown in FIG. Therefore, even when the light emitting display device 4 is viewed from the front, a part of the light emitting surface 1a of the LED 1 is not hidden by the light shielding plate, and the visibility from the front is improved.

The surface of the slope 5bb on the back surface of the eaves portion of the slope is a reflection surface, and when viewed from below the light emitting display device 4, a part of the light from the light emitting portion LP of the LED 1 is reflected on the reflection surface. Since the display is reflected to a person who visually recognizes the display, the luminance increases for the person who visually recognizes the image, and the visual recognition becomes easier. In this case, if the color of the entire display is blurred or the shape is slightly unclear due to the reflection of the light of the LED 1 adjacent in the horizontal direction, the partition between the LEDs adjacent in the horizontal direction (FIG. Although the present invention has been described with reference to the case where the illuminant is an LED, the invention is not limited to the LED. If the above-described configuration is possible, another illuminant such as a small lamp may be used. It may be something. Also, in the illustrated example, sunlight was described as an example of external light other than LEDs, so the light-shielding plate was arranged in the horizontal direction. However, when external light to be shielded was emitted from the side of the device, for example, The light shielding plate is arranged, for example, in a vertical direction to shield the extraneous light. That is, the arrangement of the light-shielding plate is determined by the irradiation direction of the external light to be shielded.

As described above, according to the present invention, since the surfaces of the respective luminous bodies forming the display surface of the light emitting display device are substantially flat, the luminous bodies can be formed at a high density.
