The present invention provides better spectral characteristics than conventional methods for data transmission using direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS). It is also suitable for the required system. In this case, good spectral characteristics are characteristics that reduce the power outside the desired spread bandwidth and control the power distribution inside the spread bandwidth. This method is effective for a frequency-division multi-user system, since the interference of different signals with each other can be minimized. BACKGROUND ART Direct sequence spread spectrum is a known technique. Initially, this method was conceived for good protection against jamming. In addition, the method reduces the risk that a signal is not received or that the signal itself is detected by a person who is not authorized to receive the signal. It is a general basis. Such a feature is commonly referred to as stealth radio or LPI (low probability intercept). This method adds two more important features with respect to stealth radio signals. One is to sharpen the signal and reduce the risk of detection by most conventional wireless information detectors, and the other is to spread the signal so that it is difficult to reproduce for unwanted recipients. Is to generate code. Furthermore, the reason for using DSSS is that the same frequency band can be used for many different users without interfering with each other. This feature allows each user to be given their own unique code sequence so that only certain receivers can receive the message. This technique is called code division multiple access (CDMA) and has received much attention, for example, in the field of portable radio. Another reason for using DSSS is the possibility of improving the resistance to frequency-selective fading caused by multipath propagation. DSSS is generally based on the principle that a carrier sequence is modulated by multiplying a spreading sequence (or spreading code) by a data sequence that changes at a relatively low speed by applying BPSK (two-phase displacement modulation method). Operate. Another method is to first modulate the carrier with a data sequence and then multiply by a spreading code. Furthermore, there is a method using QPSK (four-phase displacement modulation method) or another type of PSK (phase displacement modulation method). The spreading code, the spreading speed and the carrier frequency are notified to the receiver, and the receiver can extract predetermined information from the transmitted data sequence by demodulating and despreading the signal. The DSSS method is described in detail, for example, in References, “Spread Spectrum Communication Device” by Marvin Kay Simon et al., Computer Science Press, 1985. Spreading codes in DSSS systems are often generated by binary feedback shift registers. The code has the form of a binary pseudo-random sequence (PN sequence) and is used in various design specifications. The best properties can be found in so-called maximum length sequences. The disadvantage is that the number of different sequences is limited with respect to the length of the sequence. In order to be able to determine a given sequence number from a larger number of sequences, two or more maximum length sequences, so-called gold sequences, are usually combined. However, these sequences have poor correlation characteristics. In order to increase the number of sequences with good correlation properties, recently chaotic generation sequences for communication systems have been proposed. This method is described in detail in Haidari Bateni and Magirem, "Chaos DSSS Communication System," IEE Transaction on Communication, Vol. 42, February / March / April 1994 merger. I have. The generated chaotic sequence is not binary, that is, it has many different values within a certain range. The advantage of chaotic generation sequences is that many different sequences with low cross-correlation can be generated, which is useful for CDMA application systems and stealth radios. Further, an advantage of the chaos generation sequence is that the chaos generation sequence can be easily generated. In most cases, it is only necessary to save the constant and the previously generated value to generate the next value. This is described in detail in Physic Bearag, 1984, "Introduction to Deterministic Chaos," by HG Shaster. According to the above-mentioned literature co-authored by Haidari Bateni and Magirem, the carrier can be amplitude-modulated by the value of the chaotic sequence, and the resulting signal is better in terms of LPI than the conventional DSSS. Is known to be. Regarding the pulse generation method of the data pulse and the spreading code, for example, in Mark A. Wickert et al., “Practical Limitation on Transmission Detectability of Spread Spectrum LPI Signal”, MILCOM Transactions, Monterrey, 1990, From an LPI point of view, it has been proposed as a method for reducing the detectability of DSSS signals. In particular, it has been established that a frequency component of more than half the speed of the spreading sequence makes it easier to find a signal using a ji squaring detector or a delay / multiplication detector. These detectors are the dominant ones for detecting wireless information against DSSS signals. Therefore, those attempting to intercept the radio will attempt to filter these high frequency components. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention improves the spectral characteristics for different applications in the field of stealth radio and provides different methods of frequency sharing in multi-user systems. However, the present invention is not limited to these applications, but can be applied to all fields having similar problems. The features of the invention are as set forth in the appended claims. The details of the present invention are described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a diagram schematically showing a known principle of a direct sequence spread spectrum system using two-phase displacement modulation. FIG. 2 is a diagram schematically illustrating an example of a transmitter according to the present invention. FIG. 3 is a diagram schematically illustrating an example of a receiver according to the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The basic idea of the present invention is to generate a spreading sequence at a rate much higher than required in order to obtain a given spreading frequency bandwidth, That is, the signal sequence is filtered so as to be within a predetermined spread frequency bandwidth. In accordance with the present invention, after filtering, the spreading symbols take on intermediate values of the sequence values generated by the spreading code generator, and for the purpose of providing independence between many consecutive sequence values, are significantly increased. Powerful filtering is performed. This is completely different from moderate filtering of a transmission signal, which is widely used in known DDSS systems, and is performed to improve spectral characteristics. The known modest filtering only contributes to slightly rounding the transmitted spread pulse without significant deformation. FIG. 1 is a diagram schematically illustrating an example of a system using a known technique for DSSS. The data transmitting terminal 13 outputs the binary data d (t) to the modulator 13 that modulates the carrier using BPSK. The modulated signal s (t) is multiplied by a spreading sequence in a multiplier 14. The spreading sequence consisting of the symbols ± 1 is generated by the PN generator 11 at a rate which is likely to produce a spreading frequency bandwidth Wss for the system. The spread spectrum signal x (t) is transmitted to the receiver via an arbitrary channel, where the multiplier 16 multiplies the received signal y (t) by the sequence generated by the PN generator 19. This sequence is the same as the spreading code. Here, since c2 (t) = 1, the influence of the spreading code on the signal has disappeared. The despread signal r (t) is demodulated by the demodulator 17, and a signal d (t) regenerated as an estimated value of the original data is sent to the data receiving terminal 18. If the known DSSS system is implemented based on analog technology, the BPSK modulator 13 and the multipliers 14 and 15 may consist of diode ring mixers. A predetermined carrier generated by an oscillator is supplied to the modulator 13 in addition to the data. The demodulator 17 of the receiver is also supplied with a sine wave signal fixed to the carrier of y (t). On the other hand, the demodulator may also include a diode ring mixer, an integrator, and a decision circuit. Each of the PN generators 11 and 19 may be configured as a digital circuit as a feedback shift register. The feedback pattern and initial values are the same as those of the PN generator of the transmitter and the receiver. Alternatively, the signal processing of the system in units 11, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 19 can be implemented by digital technology using, for example, a digital signal processor (DSP) or an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). is there. Such an implementation requires digital / analog conversion of x (t) and analog / digital conversion of y (t). An example of a circuit that includes most of the functions in such a receiver is the PA-100 "Spread Spectrum Demodulator ASIC" provided by Loral. It is important that the signal x (t) is amplified and filtered as much as possible before sending it to channel 15. The receiver amplifies y (t) before despreading in multiplier 16 and performs frequency selective filtering. The transmitter of the present invention can be basically designed as shown in FIG. Data to be transmitted from the data transmission terminal 23 modulates a carrier with a modulator 24. The modulator is designed for various common modulation formats, for example, BPSK, QPSK or MSK (Minimum Phase Shift Keying). The phase of the signal s (t) is changed by the phase rotator 25 controlled by the signal c (t). The phase shift width is ± π. The signal x (t) whose phase has been changed in this way is transmitted to the receiver via some communication medium. The bandwidth of the signal c (t) is much larger than that of s (t) to provide the desired band spread. The spread signal c (t) is generated by a sequence generator 21 that operates in cooperation with the filter 22. The sequence generator 21 may be configured as a chaos generator, if not necessary. The sequence generator sends out a new output value at three times the rate corresponding to the required spreading bandwidth Wss. Filter 22 filters the sequence as a low-pass filter to generate signal c (t). This signal c (t) has a bandwidth corresponding to the spread bandwidth Wss. Regardless of whether the sequence generator outputs a binary sequence or a multi-valued sequence, the signal c (t) has many level values after filtering. If the transmitter is designed as described above and the modulation scheme in modulator 24 is set as one having a constant amplitude, for example, BPSK or MSK, the transmitted modulated band spread signal x ( t) also has a constant amplitude. This is the most suitable characteristic when a nonlinear amplifier with high output efficiency is required. If the ratio of the bandwidth of signal s (t) to the bandwidth of signal c (t) is high (high processing gain), the bandwidth of x (t) will be largely dependent on the transfer function of filter 22. Is determined. This design concept is very advantageous in the field of portable radio. The receiver can basically be designed as shown in FIG. The sequence generator 31 and the filter 32 correspond to and are identical to the transmitter units 21 and 22. The sequence generator 31 also has the same code key as the sequence generator 21 of the transmitter. The sequence generated by the sequence generator 31 is delayed and synchronized with y (t), which is the received signal x (t) transmitted on the transmission medium. The sign of the duplicate signal generated from the signal c (t) is inverted by the inverter 33 before the signal is used for controlling the phase rotator 36. Note that the inverter 33 can also be incorporated in the phase rotator 36. The band spread signal y (t) is despread by the phase rotator 36, so that the signal r (t) contains only the original modulated carrier. In the demodulator 35, data is reproduced by a known technique corresponding to the selected modulation method, and the output is sent to the data receiving terminal 34. Most of the technical implementation means of the above processing method can be implemented by digital signal processing in a digital signal processor or an ASIC. Similar to the description of the known system, the following processing elements are required. That is, conditions for digital / analog conversion of signal x (t), analog / digital conversion of y (t), and amplification and filtering of signal x (t) before transmission to the transmission channel. The receiver amplifies y (t) before despreading y (t) with phase rotator 36 and separates it with a frequency selective filter. The chaos generators 21 and 31 can be designed by, for example, a DSP using a so-called logistic function described below. For the above equation, see G. FIG. Details in the above-mentioned book by Schuster. The computational accuracy in the employed DSP will determine the length of the repeated sequence. The filters 22 and 32 determine the spread bandwidth Wss, and can be constituted by a digital low-pass filter of the FIR (finite impulse response) or IIR (infinite impulse response) type. It is important that the chaos generators and filters of the transmitter and receiver are designed in the same way and have the same numerical accuracy. The phase rotations in units 25 and 36 are to be treated numerically as complex multiplications of the IQ split signals s (t) and y (t), respectively. On the other hand, the carriers supplied to the modulator 24 and the demodulator 35 are phase-shifted, respectively. The required sinusoidal signal is generated by a circuit for direct digital synthesis controlled by c (t), where the phase is changed. An example of a circuit having predetermined functions for complex multiplication and phase-controllable signal generation is the HSP45116 "Numerically Controlled Oscillator / Modulator" provided by Harris Semiconductor. In another embodiment of the transmitter, two independent spread signals c (t) and c '(t) are generated, and the real and imaginary parts of s (t) are modulated in a complex multiplier ( IQ modulation) is possible. This processing is enabled by providing the sequence generator 21 and the filter 22 in duplicate, and generating two signals c (t) and c ′ (t), respectively. The phase rotator 25 is replaced with a complex multiplier, and multiplies the complex signal s (t) by c (t) as a real value and c ′ (t) as an imaginary value. In this embodiment, the signal x (t) does not have a constant amplitude, but the possibility of forming a spectrum of x (t) is improved. Wss is clearly determined by the transfer function of the filter 22. This embodiment is particularly suitable for an LPI system using a chaotic sequence generator.
