Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAD system capable of automatically detecting/ displaying the overlap of the line segment of a graphic form and character and speedily performing correction processing thereof. SOLUTION: This CAD system has a plotting processing means 2 for plotting the graphic form on the screen of a display device 1 on the basis of graphic data and displaying the character on the screen of the display device 1. A graphic form/character overlap detecting means 3 checks the state of overlapping of the line segment of graphic form and the character displayed on the display device 1 and when the graphic form/character overlap detecting means 3 detects an overlap of the line segment of graphic form and character, at least any one of the line segment and the character in that overlapping state is emphasized and displayed by an overlapped character emphasis displaying means 4.

The character data is drawn and
Although it is common to arrange them in the vicinity of the line segment of the edited graphic, it is necessary to avoid a display in which the character and the graphic line segment overlap each other. For this reason, after inputting a character and editing the character, the CAD operator visually checks the overlap between the line segment of the figure and the character while looking at the display screen. , Correct its position. However, in the case of a CAD drawing in which a very large number of characters are edited and input adjacent to a line of a complicated figure, such as a display of dimensions of a mechanical part, the line between the figure and the character is displayed from the display screen. The work of finding the overlap has been an extremely burdensome work for the operator.

In this state, the figure / character overlap detecting means 3
Operates, and the overlap between the line segment of the figure and the character is checked by comparing the coordinate data of the line segment and the character. When the graphic / character overlap detecting means 3 detects the overlap between the graphic line and the character, the overlapping character highlighting means 4 displays both the line and the character in the overlapping state, or either the line or the character. Is highlighted. This highlighting is performed, for example, by changing the display of characters and the like from gray display to colored display. As a result, the line segment and / or character of the overlapping graphic are highlighted, so that the operator can very easily find the overlap between the graphic and the character by looking at the screen display. Then, subsequent operations such as character movement correction can be performed quickly.

In the CAD editing operation, the CPU 6 reads, for example, graphic data and character data stored in the storage device 8 onto the RAM 7 in accordance with an operation of the input device 10 by the operator, and reads the graphic data and character data. The B signal is output to the display device 1 such as a CRT together with the synchronization signal, and the drawing being edited is displayed on the display device 1. In the drawn drawing, characters such as the size and name of the portion are input adjacent to the line segment of the figure. Normally, the lines and characters of the figure are displayed in black on the screen of the display device 1 as shown in FIG.

At the end of such an editing operation or the like, when checking the overlap between a line segment of a figure and a character, the operator inputs the command by, for example, clicking a menu bar on the screen or the like. The process proceeds from step 100 to step 110 to enter an overlap detection mode for detecting overlap between a line segment of a drawn figure and a character.

When the overlap detection mode is entered, in step 110, the line segments and characters of all the figures drawn on the screen of the display device 1 are changed from the normal black display to the gray one as shown in FIG. To display the normal display in which the line segments and characters of all the figures are displayed in black. The line segment of the figure and the gray display of the character
6 is performed by changing the display color of all the attribute data in the graphic data and character data on the RAM 7 to gray gradation.

Next, in step 120, the CPU 6 determines whether or not all the characters displayed on the screen overlap with the line segments of the graphic. The determination of the overlap between the line segment of the figure and the character is performed by comparing the coordinate data of all the characters with the coordinate data of all the line segments. Then, when there is a character that overlaps with a line segment of the graphic, or when there is a line segment of a graphic that overlaps with the character, the CPU 6 proceeds to the next step 130 and replaces the character in the overlapping state with the character shown in FIG.
Highlighting is performed as shown in FIG.

This highlighting is performed, for example, by the CPU 6 rewriting the attribute data of the character data on the RAM 7 corresponding to the character from gray display to colored display. As a result, only the characters on the screen where the overlap occurs are displayed in color, for example, in orange or the like, and the operator can very easily find the character that overlaps the line segment of the figure by looking at the screen display. When the operator finds a character that overlaps the line segment, the operator operates the input device 10 to move the character to a position that does not overlap the line segment, thereby eliminating the overlap between the line segment and the character.

As described above, when the overlap between the line segment of the figure and the character is eliminated, the CPU 6 determines in step 140 that the overlap between the line segment of the character and the graphic has been eliminated, and proceeds from step 140 to step 150. Then, as shown in FIG. 4D, the color display of the character whose overlap has been eliminated is changed to a gray display. Then, returning to step 100, by repeatedly executing steps 100 to 150, the characters highlighted and overlapped with the line segment are moved and corrected, and the highlighted characters are sequentially returned to gray display.

Then, when all the overlaps between the graphic line segments and the characters are eliminated and steps 100 to 120 are repeated, as shown in FIG. 4D, all the graphic line segments and the characters become gray. Display. Thus, the operator can confirm that the overlap between the line segments of all the figures and the characters has been eliminated. In this state, the operator exits the overlap detection mode by inputting a command such as a click on the menu bar and the like. Then, the mode is changed to the normal mode, and the line segments and characters of the graphic are returned to the black display.

2. The graphic / character overlap detecting means includes: coordinate data of a line segment for causing a graphic in the drawing processing means to be displayed on the display device; and coordinate data of a character for displaying a character on the display device. 2. The CAD system according to claim 1, wherein an overlap state is detected by comparing the overlap state.

3. In an overlap detection mode for detecting overlap between a drawn figure and a character, all the drawn figures and characters on the screen are displayed in gray, and the figure / character overlap detecting means detects a figure segment and a line segment of the figure. 2. An overlapping character highlighting means for highlighting by changing at least one of a line segment and a character in an overlapping state from gray display to coloring display when an overlap with a character is detected.
