Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging body for maintaining freshness of fruits and vegetables which can realize the tight sealing at a level free from any practical problems without using any facility such as a heat sealer. SOLUTION: This bag-like packaging body for maintaining the freshness of fruits and vegetables formed of a single-layered or multi-layered polymer film having the thickness of <=100 μm comprises a bag-like portion in which the content can be placed from an opening part of the bag-like packaging body and a lid portion which is continuous thereto and covers the opening part of the bag-like portion when it is folded, the adhesive is applied to at least one portion in the vicinity of the lid portion or the opening part. After fruits and vegetables are placed in the bag-like packaging body, and the opening part is folded at the lid portion, and adhered thereto by the adhesive to realize the tight sealing, the concentration of the carbon dioxide gas in the packaging body becomes higher than that in the atmosphere by the breathing of the contents, i.e., the fruits and vegetables, and the oxygen concentration in the packaging body becomes lower than the oxygen concentration in the atmosphere.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, a freshness maintaining material for fruits and vegetables having an MA (Modified Atomosphere) effect has been developed, and is mainly used for distribution. Fruits and vegetables continue to breathe even after harvesting, and when placed in an environment where the oxygen concentration is lower than the atmosphere (oxygen about 21%, carbon dioxide about 0.04%) and carbon dioxide concentration is high, respiration is suppressed and freshness is maintained. It is known that this is possible. However, if the package is in an environment of excessively low oxygen and high carbon dioxide, the fruits and vegetables will cause respiratory disorders and accelerate deterioration, and conversely, the oxygen concentration is too high or the carbon dioxide concentration is too low And a sufficient freshness retaining effect cannot be obtained. Therefore, it is extremely important to control the inside of the package to an appropriate oxygen concentration and carbon dioxide concentration.
Fruits and vegetables have completely different respiration rates depending on the type, temperature, cutting method, and the like, so it is necessary to adjust the gas permeation amount of the packaging material accordingly.

[0003] Films for maintaining the freshness of fruits and vegetables by MA have been developed by a plurality of manufacturers. These are micropores provided in the film (pore size several hundred μm or less)
They create scratches and scratches and adjust the amount of gas permeation according to their number and size. When packaging fruits and vegetables with these films,
After being processed into a bag, the contents are put into the bag and sealed by heat sealing or the like before use. If the sealed portion is not sufficiently sealed, more oxygen than the set amount of oxygen will enter the package, and the effect of maintaining freshness cannot be expected. However, on the other hand, the necessity of equipment such as a heat sealer for hermetically sealing has prevented the spread of the freshness preserving packaging by MA to small-scale users who have difficulty in introducing the equipment.
