一定距離だけ移動してトナー容器1の口部2を開口し、
トナー容器1内のトナーを現像装置に供給するようにし
ている。このトナー容器1の口部2から供給するトナー
がトナー容器1の周囲や画像形成装置内にこぼれて汚す
ことを防ぐために、図4に示すように、トナー補給ユニ
ットの容器受け部4の取付部5には例えば平ゴム等のシ
ール部6を設け、シール部6の先端部をトナー容器1の
口部2の外周面に圧接させて容器受け部4の取付部5と
トナー容器1の口部2との間を密封している。
