複数のドットパターンで構成されるドットパターンテーブルを階調毎、前記記録剤の色毎に格納した格納手段と、
前記記録剤の色毎に、前記画素の位置情報および階調情報に基づいて前記ドットパターンテーブルから前記画素に記録すべきドットパターンを選択する選択手段と、
前記選択手段により選択されたドットパターンに基づいて前記画素に記録を行うための記録手段とを有し、
前記複数色の記録剤のうちの特定色の記録剤に対応する前記ドットパターンテーブルのサイズは、その他の色の記録剤に対応する前記ドットパターンテーブルのサイズよりも小さいことを特徴とする記録装置。

前記特定色の記録剤が示す明度は、前記その他の色の記録剤が示す明度よりも高いことを特徴とする請求項１に記載の記録装置。

前記複数色の記録剤はシアン、マゼンタ、イエローおよびブラックの記録剤を含み、
前記特定色の記録剤はイエローの記録剤であり、前記その他の色の記録剤はシアン、マゼンタ、ブラックの記録剤であることを特徴とする請求項１に記載の記録装置。
