SOLUTION: In a centrifugal machine for evacuating a rotor chamber 3, a vacuum pump 8 and a vacuum meter 9 for measuring the degree of vacuum in the chamber 3 are provided. After a certain degree of vacuum is obtained, a situation in which the degree of vacuum is lowered abruptly is limited to a case in which air is leaked or a case in which a specimen in a rotor 1 is leaked into the chamber 3. After a certain degree of vacuum is obtained, when the degree of vacuum is lowered, the cause is judged to be the leakage of the specimen, and the chamber 3 is illuminated by a sterilization lamp 5 before a door 4 being opened. 4、ロータ室内を照射する殺菌灯5から大きくは構成さ
れており、ロータ室内はドアを閉じることにより気密性
が保たれるようになっている。また駆動モータにはイン
バランスセンサ6が設けられ、試料の不釣り合いを検出
し、不釣り合いがあった場合は自動的に遠心機を停止さ
せることができるようになっている。通常の試料セット
ミスの場合は低速回転で不釣り合いが検出可能で、高速
回転時にインバランスセンサが動作するのは、多くはロ
ータに装填する試料を入れたチューブ10が回転中に何
らかの要因で割れたり、あるいはチューブから試料がこ
ぼれたりした場合である。このような場合、試料がロー
タから外部に飛散してしまう可能性があり、ロータ室内
が試料で汚染されることになる。そこで、インバランス
センサ6が高速回転で動作した場合試料漏れと判断し
て、遠心機のドアを開ける前にロータ室内を紫外線で照
射して殺菌することが可能となる。更にはインバランス
センサ6に回転軸もしくはロータの振幅を測定できる変
位計を用いれば、高速回転中に変位が大きく変化した場
合、試料が漏れたと判断できるのでより精度の高い滅菌
が可能となる。
