The present invention relates to an apparatus for providing a fixed path length. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In the field of telecommunications, it is necessary to organize transmission cables effectively. Poor control of cable routing can cause excessive friction and premature failure. Special care must be taken with fiber optic cables to ensure that the bend radius is maintained above a certain minimum radius. If this radius is less than the minimum required for a particular type of fiber optic cable, transmission may be impaired or the cable may be twisted or broken. Prior art devices, such as those disclosed in U.S. Pat. Nos. 5,093,997 and 5,142,606, only consider keeping the cable larger than the minimum bend radius, but do not allow the cable holder to expand or contract. In this case, a route of a certain length is not sufficiently set. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The cable retractor of the present invention includes a plurality of restrainer segments that are typically molded of plastic and mounted end-to-end by pivot pins, so that the entire cable retractor takes up less space. Can be folded. The fiber optic cable is attached to the restrainer segment so that when the retractor is expanded from the folded position to the expanded position, the overall length of the fiber optic cable path hardly changes. Each precision restrainer segment includes a right end plate and a complementary left end plate connected by a web. The end plates each have an inner side facing the web and an outer side spaced away from the web, the shape of which is usually rectangular by the head and tail ends. The longitudinal cross-section of the web has a linear cross-section integral with the arc-shaped cross-section. The web is located between end plates having an arcuate cross section near the head cross section of each end plate. The radius of curvature of the arc-shaped section is greater than or equal to the minimum allowable bending radius of the cable. The cable is longitudinally mounted on the web and a plurality of openings in the web support conventional cable ties to secure the cable to the web. The restrainer segments are interconnected from the head to the tail by pivot pins. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will be more completely understood from the following detailed description of the invention in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the cable retractor in a folded position, FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the cable retractor in an expanded position, and FIG. 3 is a view of a restrainer component of the cable retractor. FIG. 4 is a front view of the restrainer, FIG. 5 is a rear view of the restrainer, and FIG. 6 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of the restrainer taken along section 6-6 in FIG. FIG. 7 is an end view of the restrainer showing an end plate of the restrainer, FIG. 8 is a plan view showing a rear cross section of the restrainer taken along section 8-8 in FIG. 4, 9 is a side view showing a longitudinal section of the cable retractor in the folded position taken at section 9-9 in FIG. 3, and FIG. 10 is an expanded view taken at section 10-10 in FIG. In the position Is a side view showing a longitudinal section of Bururi tractor, FIG. 11 is a front view showing the rotation of the second rest Reina segment for the first rest Reina segment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION In the drawings, like reference numerals refer to like or similar parts throughout the eleven drawings. According to FIGS. 1 and 2, a cable retractor 10 ("retractor") according to the present invention is designed to fold the entire cable retractor into a small space, preferably end-to-end by pivot pins 46 and 56. It has four sturdy restraint segments 30 of molded plastic mounted. The fiber optic cable 100 is secured to the restrainer segment 30 and wraps around the restrainer segment 30 so that the overall length of the retractor fiber optic cable 100 ("cable") does not change, regardless of whether the restrainer is folded. Are arranged. FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of the restrainer segment 30 having a right end plate 40 and a complementary left end plate 50. Between end plates 40 and 50 is web 60. FIGS. 3 and 7 show a right end plate 40 having a generally rectangular shape with a head end 42 and a tail end 44. Openings 48 are located at tail ends 44 to support pivot pins, as described below. The head end 42 has a generally round shape with a radius of curvature greater than the minimum bending radius of the cable 100 mounted on the retractor. The right end plate 40 has an inside facing toward the web 60 and an outside facing away from the web 60. The pivot pin 46 is attached to the outside of the right end plate 40 at the head end 42. According to FIGS. 4 and 5, the tail end 44 has a thicker cross section 49 to accommodate the recess 47 on the inside. The recess 47 is dimensioned to support the head portion of the adjacent restrainer segment 30. As shown in FIGS. 3-6, the complementary left end plate 50 merges with a head end 52 having pivot pins 56, a tail end 54 having an opening 58, and a thicker cross section 59 having a recess 57. . Each part of the left end plate 50 is arranged at a position corresponding to the part described above with respect to the corresponding part of the right end plate 40. 3-5, web 60 is positioned between end plates 40 and 50 for use in conjunction with conventional plastic cable ties 92 to secure cable 100 to restrainer segment 30. An opening 90 (see FIG. 4) is included. As shown in FIG. 8, the web 60 has a first web portion 62 and a second web portion 64 stepped down. As shown in FIG. 6, the web portions 62 and 64 have a longitudinal cross-section shaped like a candy cane, i.e., having a lower straight portion and an arcuate upper portion. The radius of the groove “R” in this arcuate portion is defined by the minimum bending radius of the cable 100. The minimum bend radius of a cable is a function of the cable diameter and the material from which the cable is made. For fiber optic cables, a minimum bend radius of less than one inch is not recommended. The radius of the groove "R 64" in the arc-shaped portion of the web portion 64 is slightly smaller than the groove of the web portion 62 'R 62'. The difference in groove radii results in a constant cable retractor bending radius that allows the retractor to work for cables of different diameters. The web 60 can have a continuous cross section with one radius groove or multiple cross sections with different radius grooves so that retractors for multiple cables of different radii can be used simultaneously. 9 and 10 show side cross sections of a series of four interconnected restraint segments 30 forming the cable retractor 10. FIG. FIG. 10 shows the cable retractor 10 in the expanded position, and FIG. 9 shows the cable retractor 10 in the folded position. The restrainer segments 30 are connected to each other from the head to the tail by pivot pins 46 and 56. According to FIGS. 1 and 2, pivot pins 46 and 56 located at the head ends 42 and 52 of each plate 40 and 50 of the first restrainer segment are connected to the tail ends 44 and 54 of the second restrainer segment 30. In the openings 48 and 58 located at The head of the second restrainer segment 30 is connected to the tail of the third segment, and the head of the third segment is similarly connected to the tails of all of the fourth segments. In the preferred embodiment, pivot pins 46 and 56 are formed integrally with end plates 40 and 50, but apertures and conventional fasteners can be used as the connection method. As shown in FIG. 4, the cable 100 is secured to the web 60 by a cable tie 92 and extends along the web, around the curved portion of the web, onto the second restrainer segment 30, and then the third and the third. 4 to the four restrainer segments. When the retractor 10 expands and contracts, the length of the path of the cable 100 does not expand and contract. According to FIG. 11, the cable retractor 10 achieves a rolling operation similar to the operation of involute bending of gear teeth. This operation is a smooth and continuous rolling operation with minimal slippage between the cable 100 and the cable retractor 10. This operation is obtained by the positional relationship between the pivot point 80 and R 64 (shown in FIG. 6). Each restrainer segment 30 is connected to a neighboring, substantially identical restrainer segment 30 at a pivot point 80. The phantom lines show the smooth and continuous operation of the neighboring restrainer segments 30. Cable 100 is secured to restrainer segment 30 at securing point 110 by a conventional cable tie 92 passing through opening 90 (see FIG. 4). The Greek letter theta “θ” used in FIG. 11 indicates the angle of the arc produced when the restrainer segment 30 is not folded with respect to the neighboring restrainer segment 30. The distance “L 1 ” is determined by the point of attachment 110 on the web 60 of the restrainer segment 30 and the point of contact (“the cable” contacting the web 60 on the neighboring restrainer segment 30 when the retractor 10 is in the folded position. T 1 )). “L” changes according to a relational expression L 2 = L 1 + 2πx (average cable bending radius) × (θ / 360). The distance L 2 is the tangent (“T 2 ”) length of the cable at the angle θ when the retractor is expanded. Optimally, the cable retractor 100 will not extend to an angle θ greater than 120 °. Stop point 51 (shown in FIG. 2) prevents overexpansion. If the cable retractor is completely bent, θ is zero, and therefore L 1 = L 2 . While the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described in the accompanying drawings and the following detailed description, the present invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments, but does not depart from the scope of the appended claims. It will be appreciated that numerous modifications are possible.
