テニスゲームに関する改良
本発明は、テニスのゲームに関連し、特に、テニスの練習を行ったりテニスの
競技をする際に使用される設備に関する。
テニスゲームにおける種々のショットを練習する際に遊技者は、数多くのボー
ルを使用し、技術を向上させるためにある特定のショットを何度か繰り返して行
いたいと思っている。概して、練習ショットの多くは、テニスコートを分断して
いる競技用ネットに打ちつけられる。通常、この競技用ネットに打ちつけられる
ボールの多くが、競技面上へと偏向する。従って、練習中に多くのテニスボール
がテニスコート上に蓄積し、競技者がショットをしようと移動しているときに事

使用されたテニスボールを回収するために必要とされる時間が、全体の練習時間
のうちの大きな比率を占めることもある。ショットをある程度続けて打った後に
、テニスボールを回収するために時間を無駄にすることは望ましくなく、特に、
テニスコーチから有料で授業を受けている競技者にとって望ましいものではない
。
従って、本発明は、競技面上での迷い玉による事故を減少させることができる
、テニスの練習または競技用設備を提供することを目的のひとつとする。
また、さらに本発明は、ショットをある程度続けて打った後にテニスボールを
回収するために要する時間を削減することができる、テニスの
練習または競技用設備を提供することを目的とする。
この目的のために、本発明はテニスゲームのための競技用ネットと共に使用す
るテニスボール保持手段を提供し、前記テニスボール保持手段は、前記競技用ネ
ットより下に位置し、当該競技用ネットの長手方向にほぼ沿うように延びており
、これによりテニスボールが当たって当該競技用ネットによって当該保持手段の
中に偏向したときにテニスボールを保持することができる。
また本発明は、テニスゲームの競技もしくは練習のための設備を提供し、前記
設備は、競技用ネットの下部に位置し前記競技用ネットの長手方向にほぼ沿うよ
うに延びているテニスボール保持手段と共に使用される競技用ネットを備え、テ
ニスボールが当たって当該競技用ネットによって当該保持手段の中に偏向したと
きにテニスボールを保持するよう作用する。
当該保持手段は、競技用ネットの下に、開口面を上向きにし当該競技用ネット
の長手方向にほぼ沿うように延びる溝を形成することが好ましい。当該溝の開口
面は、競技用ネットの両面から横に延びているのが都合よい。当該保持手段は、
柔軟性のある壁を形成するような素材から成ることが好ましく、特に、ネット素
材から成ることが好ましい。このネット素材は、競技用ネットに使用されるもの
と同じ種類でもよい。
好ましい構成においては、前記溝の開口面の横方向の幅を維持するために、当
該保持手段の長手方向に沿って少なくとも一つのスプレダー部材が備えられる。
また、前記競技用ネットから前記保持手段の横方向の上端を支えるために、当該
保持手段の長手方向に沿って少なくとも一つ
のハンガー手段が備えられるのが都合がよい。これにより、前記上端は、前記競
技用ネットの下端に対して所定の高さで支えられる。前記スプレダー部材、もし
くはその各々に対して一つのハンガー手段が備えられてもよい。当該ハンガー手
段は、前記競技用ネットの下端に対して、保持手段の横方向の上端の高さを変更
できるように、調整可能なものにするのが都合よい。
さらに、他の好ましい構成においては、長手方向端においてもしくは長手方向
端に隣接して前記溝の開口面の所望横方向幅を維持するために、スプレダー手段
は、保持手段の長手方向端と連携して備えられる。また、スプレダー手段は、保
持手段の長手方向端においてもしくは長手方向端に隣接して、前記溝の開口面を
前記競技用ネットの下端に対して上下できるように高くしたり低くしたりするこ
とができるようになっていることが都合よい。
また、前記競技用ネットの下端は、前記保持手段の横方向上端より下に位置す
るのが好ましい。当該保持手段の溝は、少なくとも一つの斜面領域を有する下方
トラフ部を含むことが都合よい。これによりテニスボールは、少なくとも一つの
分離した個所に回収されることになる。
また、競技用ネットはコートの両側面にある支柱の間ではりつめられているこ
とが好ましい。これにより、入ってくるテニスボールからのエネルギーを吸収し
、保持手段の中にボールを偏向させる作用が生じる。

は、支柱２の各々に位置する接続リング１５に、張り綱１１により適切に接続さ
れている。
図２において、テニスボール保持手段５は、競技用ネット１の下端４の下に配
置されている。図示の好ましい実施例においては、当該保持手段５はネットの形
態をしており、競技用ネット１の両端において、ネットの幅に亙って延びている

形態をしている。当該保持ネットは、張り綱９によって支持部材８から吊るされ
ている。支持部材は、Ｕ型ボルト１６により支柱２に取り付けられたバー８を備
え、当該バー８は必要に応じて高くしたり低くしたりすることができる。張り綱
９はバー８の両端に接続されており、その結果、保持ネットの長手方向の端が所
望の広がりを有するように、バー８がさらにスプレダー手段として作用する。別
