Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure contact reliability between a press-contact blade and a wire without carrying out post-plating to a cut surface produced in forming the press-contact blade by stamping. SOLUTION: This press-contact terminal fitting has a shape wherein the inward edge of a blade 12 bent and raised inward nearly at a right angle from a wall part 11 is formed into a press-contact blade and is shaped by forming the blade 12 capable of being bent and raised at a part of the wall part 11 by stamping a flat plated metal plate material and thereafter bending the wall part 11 and the blade 12. The press-contact blade is formed by cutting a bent part 19A bent in nearly parallel with the wall part 11 at the middle part of the blade 12 along a cut guide surface 20 inside the bend of the blade 12 and nearly perpendicular to the wall part 11. The plated surface outside the bent of the blade 12 is formed into an opposite end face 14 to be abutted on the core of a wire.

[0003] In manufacturing such press-contact terminal fittings, a plate-shaped conductive metal plate having a predetermined thickness is plated, and then the metal plate is punched into a predetermined shape to form a part of a wall. A blade surrounded by a U-shaped slit is formed on the flat metal plate, and the flat metal plate is bent so that the wall is raised and the blade is bent inward so that the pressure contact blades face each other. . At this time,
The opposing end face of the press contact blade that comes into contact with the core wire of the electric wire is not plated because it is a fracture surface at the time of punching. Since this fractured surface is not smooth, there is a problem in terms of contact reliability if it is brought into contact with the core wire as it is. Therefore,
As a post-plating process, plating is generally performed on a fractured surface (opposing end surface). However, performing the post-plating process means that the number of steps is increased, so that there is a problem that the cost is high. .

In the form bent in the shape of a letter, since the bending portion 102 is in a cantilevered support state, there is a possibility that the bending portion 102 is deformed inward due to the pressing force received from the wire side during pressure welding, and as a result, the resin coating of the wire is sufficiently reduced. However, there is a possibility that problems may occur such that the incision cannot be made at once, or even if the incision is made, the contact pressure with the core wire is not secured.

Advantageous Effects of the Invention [Inventions of Claims 1 and 2] One of the corner edges constituting the pressure contact blade is a sharp edge portion because it is continuous with the fracture surface along the surface of the blade. In addition, the resin coating of the electric wire can be reliably opened. Further, since the opposed end face of the press contact blade is substantially within the range of the plate thickness of the blade, even if a press force is received from the electric wire side during the press contact, the press force can be reliably received without deformation. In addition, since the opposite end surface uses the portion plated before punching as it is, a highly reliable contact state with the core wire can be secured without post-plating.

[First Embodiment] A first embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the press contact terminal fitting 10 of the present embodiment includes a pair of wall portions 11 that are parallel to each other, and a pair of blades 12 that are bent inward at substantially right angles from the two wall portions 11. The inwardly facing edges of both blades 12 facing each other are pressure contact blades 13. The press-contact of the electric wire 30 to the press-connecting terminal fitting 10 is performed between the pair of wall portions 11 in a state where the press-connecting terminal fitting 10 is assembled to a housing (not shown) or set in a press-fitting jig (not shown). The electric wire 30 is dropped in a parallel direction, placed on the upper edge of the blade 12, and the electric wire 30 is pressed in this state. Due to this pressure contact, the resin coating 31 of the electric wire 30 is cut by the pressure contact blade 13 and
Opposing end surfaces 14 are in contact with the core wire 32 of the electric wire 30.

First, in a first step, a flat conductive metal plate (not shown) is plated (not shown) in a first step, and a second step is performed. Then, the plated flat metal plate material is punched by a press, so that the wall portion 11 is formed.
(See FIGS. 3 and 4). The blades 12 are formed in a pair of front and rear, a total of four pieces, and are formed by punching a substantially H-shaped slit in each of the left and right wall portions 11. The slit is a lower edge slit 17A long in the front-rear direction along the fold line 16 between the bottom plate 15 and the wall portion 11, and a wide upper edge slit 17B parallel to the lower edge slit 17A.
And a side edge slit 17C communicating between the lower edge slit 17A and the upper edge slit 17B. Plating remains on the surface of the blade 12 formed by such slits (surface flush with the wall portion 11).
No plating is present on the lower edge surface 12A, upper edge surface 12B, and side edge surface 12C (the inner peripheral surface of the slit) of the blade 12.

Next, in a third step, the upper edge slit 17 is formed.
Each of the blades 12 is bent at a substantially right angle to the wall portion 11 along a fold line 18 connecting the front end and the rear end of the lower edge slit 17A with each other (see FIG. 5). The bent blade 12 is bent in the middle to form a bent portion 19 substantially parallel to the wall portion 11 (see FIG. 6). The bending position of the bending portion 19 is determined by the upper edge surface 12B of the blade 12.

(A surface of the blade 12 which is a component of the present invention) (see FIG. 7). The breaking guide surface 20
Is a plane inside the bend of the blade 12 and substantially perpendicular to the wall 11. The pressure-contact blade 13 is formed by this rupture, and a part of the edge portion constituting the pressure-contact blade 13 becomes a fracture surface 21 where no plating is present. Since the fracture surface 21 faces forward or rearward orthogonal to the length direction of the electric wire 30, it does not face the core wire 32 of the electric wire 30. The opposing end face 14 of the press-contact blade 13 that is outside the bend and that faces the core wire 32 is formed by bending the plated surface of the blade 12 and remains without being cut off by breaking. Therefore, plating is left on the opposite end surface 14 of the press-contact blade 13.

Next, in a sixth step, the protruding amount of the blade 12 from the wall portion 11 is reduced to a predetermined size by subjecting the opposing end face 14 on which the plating is left to flap processing (FIG. 1). 8). Finally, in a seventh step, the wall portion 11 is bent so as to rise from the bottom plate portion 15 at a substantially right angle. Thereby, a pair of left and right pressure contact blades 13
However, the inward facing end surfaces 14 are connected to the core wire 3 of the electric wire 30.
A state is established in which the correspondences are made at predetermined intervals slightly smaller than 2 (see FIG. 2).

As described above, in the present embodiment, one of the corners 13A constituting the press-contact blade 13 is formed on the inner surface of the bend which is substantially perpendicular to the wall 11 of the blade 12 (the fracture guide surface 20). Is connected to the fracture surface 21 along the edge of the wire 30, thereby forming a sharp edge portion.
Can be reliably incised. Further, since the opposed end surface 14 of the press contact blade 13 is substantially within the range of the plate thickness of the blade 12, the blade 12
Even if a pressing force in the direction along the plate surface is received, the pressing force can be reliably received without deformation. Therefore, the resin coating 31 can be reliably incised.
Moreover, since the facing end surface 14 uses the surface of the blade 12 plated before punching as it is, a highly reliable contact state with the core wire 32 can be secured without post-plating. .

2. A pair of blades, wherein a pair of blades are bent inward at substantially right angles from a pair of mutually parallel wall portions, and the inward edges facing each other are press-contact blades. A method of manufacturing a press-connecting terminal fitting in which the resin coating of the wire is cut with the press-connecting blade and the opposed end faces of the press-connecting blade facing each other are brought into contact with the core wire of the wire by pushing the wire between the wires. Then, a plating process is performed on the surface of the flat metal plate material, and the metal plate material is punched in a flat shape to form the blade that can be bent and raised on a part of the wall portion, and the metal plate material is bent. In forming the wall portion and the blade into the form by processing, in the bending process of the metal plate material, the blade is bent and raised substantially at right angles to the wall portion, A bent portion is formed in the middle by bending substantially parallel to the wall portion, and the bent portion is broken along a surface inside the bending of the blade and substantially perpendicular to the wall portion, so that the pressure contact is made. A blade is formed, and the pair of wall portions are bent so as to be parallel to each other, so that the plating-treated surfaces on the outside of the bend in the blade are opposed to each other as the opposed end surfaces capable of contacting the core wire. Manufacturing method of insulation displacement terminal fittings.
