上記計数手段によって上記2つの信号面を有する複数種類の光担体を判別して成ることを特徴とする光担体判別装置。
【請求項2】 1つの信号面を有する第1の光担体と、2つの信号面を有する第2の光担体との夫々の表面と信号面に合焦したレーザの反射光の時間タイミング差を用いて複数の光担体の種類を判別する様に成した光担体判別方法に於いて、
上記光担体の表面と上記信号面で生ずる反射光の数を計数する計数ステップを具備し、
上記計数ステップによって上記2つの信号面を有する複数種類の光担体を判別して成ることを特徴とする光担体判別方法。
【請求項3】 信号面を有する光記録媒体の判別を可能とする光記録媒体判別装置において、
上記信号面、及び光記録媒体表面からの反射光を検出し、該反射光がそれぞれの面でジャストフォーカスとなるタイミングの時間差から複数種類の光記録媒体を判別できる判別手段を有することを特徴とする光記録媒体判別装置。
【請求項4】 上記判別手段は、反射光の振幅を用いて判別することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の光記録媒体判別装置。
【請求項5】 上記判別手段は、プルイン信号を用いて判別することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光記録媒体判別装置。
【請求項6】 上記判別手段は、フォーカスエラー信号を用いて判別することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光記録媒体判別装置。
【請求項7】 上記判別手段は、光記録媒体の種類ごとに判別するまでの測定回数を異ならせることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光記録媒体判別装置。
【請求項8】 信号面を有する光記録媒体の判別を可能とする光記録媒体判別方法において、
上記信号面、及び光記録媒体表面からの反射光を検出し、該反射光がそれぞれの面でジャストフォーカスとなるタイミングの時間差から複数種類の光記録媒体を判別することを特徴とする光記録媒体判別方法。
