[0021] In this waterproof connector, when the electric plug is inserted between the tapered surface of the rubber plug accommodating concave portion of the outer housing and the tapered surface of the concave portion of the spacer before the electric wire is inserted, the rubber plug has a curved annular shape. Since the projecting portion and the tapered surface of the rubber housing recess of the outer housing make point contact, the spacer is fitted into the outer housing and the temporarily locked spacer is completely fitted into the outer housing via the rubber plug. In the final locking, the frictional force between the rubber plug accommodating concave portion of the outer housing and the rubber plug is stabilized and reduced. Thereby, the force for inserting the rubber plug into the rubber plug housing recess is reduced, and the workability of assembling the waterproof connector is improved.

The inverted conical surface 19a of the rubber plug accommodating recess 19 of the outer housing 17 and the recess 28e of the spacer 28 are provided.
During the above-mentioned temporary locking before inserting the electric wire between the rubber plug 18 and the inverted conical surface 28d of the rubber plug 18, the curved conical projection 18d of the rubber plug 18 and the inverted cone of the rubber plug accommodating recess 19 of the outer housing 17 are formed. The body portion 2 of the spacer 28 which is fitted into the inner wall portion 17a of the outer housing 17 and temporarily locked via the rubber plug 18 by the point contact with the surface 19a.
When completely engaging the inner wall portion 17a of the outer housing 17 with the inner wall portion 8a of the outer housing 17, the frictional force between the rubber plug housing concave portion 19 of the outer housing 17 and the rubber plug 18 is stably and reduced. it can. Thus, the force of inserting the rubber plug 18 into the rubber plug housing recess 19 can be reduced, and the workability of assembling the waterproof connector 10 can be improved.

As described above, according to the waterproof connector of the first aspect of the present invention, both sides of the rubber plug are sandwiched between the tapered surface of the rubber plug housing concave portion of the outer housing and the tapered surface of the concave portion of the spacer. At the time of temporary locking before insertion of the electric wire, each cylindrical portion at both ends of the rubber plug is housed in at least one of the rubber plug housing concave portion of the outer housing and the concave portion of the spacer, so that one wall portion of the outer housing is provided. According to the waterproof connector of the second aspect of the present invention,
A curved annular projection of the rubber plug and the rubber plug of the outer housing are inserted at the time of temporary locking before the electric wire is inserted between both sides of the rubber plug between the tapered surface of the rubber plug receiving concave portion of the outer housing and the tapered surface of the concave portion of the spacer. Since the tapered surface of the receiving recess makes point contact with the outer housing, the spacer in the provisionally locked state is completely fitted into the outer housing through the rubber plug and is completely fitted into the outer housing. The frictional force between the rubber plug accommodating recess of the outer housing and the rubber plug can be stably and reduced. Thus, the force of inserting the rubber plug into the rubber plug housing recess can be reduced, and the workability of assembling the waterproof connector can be improved.

A plurality of terminal accommodating chambers are formed in a connector housing so that terminals connected to electric wires can be accommodated in the respective terminal accommodating chambers, and the terminal accommodating chambers and the electric wires can be sealed with rubber stoppers. In the waterproof connector described above, the connector housing is provided with an inner housing in which each of the terminal accommodating chambers is formed, an outer housing in which the inner housing is fitted, and an inner housing interposed between the inner housing and the outer housing. And a spacer for holding the terminals accommodated in the respective terminal accommodating chambers of the housing. An electric wire insertion hole is formed in each of the wall portions of the outer housing opposed to the respective terminal accommodating chambers. A rubber plug accommodating concave portion for accommodating the rubber plug having a cylindrical portion at both ends is provided at a position opposed to each of the electric wire insertion holes on the inner side. On the other hand, an electric wire insertion hole is formed in one wall portion of the spacer facing the electric wire insertion hole of the outer housing, and the rubber is provided at a position outside the one wall portion and opposed to the electric wire insertion hole. Forming a concave portion in which the cylindrical portion on one end side of the plug is housed, and forming a tapered surface on the entrance side of each of the rubber plug housing concave portions, and forming a tapered surface on the entrance side of each of the concave portions, The rubber plug is temporarily locked between the outer housing and the spacer before the electric wire is inserted into each of the electric wire insertion holes of the outer housing, the electric wire insertion hole of the rubber plug, and the electric wire insertion holes of the spacer. At this time, each of the cylindrical portions at both ends of the rubber plug is housed in at least one of the rubber plug housing concave portion and each of the concave portions, and both sides of the rubber plug are tapered surfaces of the rubber plug housing concave portions. And each said concave The electric wires passing through the respective electric wire insertion holes of the outer housing, the electric wire insertion holes of the rubber plugs, and the respective electric wire insertion holes of the spacer are inserted into the respective terminal accommodating chambers of the inner housing. A waterproof connector characterized by being freely connectable to the terminal accommodated in the connector.
