Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a resin molded part for an automobile, excellent in soundproofing and heat insulating effect by means of micro ballons uniformely dispersed in the inside of the resin molded part. SOLUTION: A sheet impregnated with thermal expansible master patch together with glass fiber cloths and thermal plastic resin such as PP (polypropylene) and the like is molded by means of sheet molding so as to be formed into a glass mat reinforcing thermal plastic sheet, after the aforesaid sheet is heated so as to be softened by a heater in advance, or heated so as to be softened within the cavity of a metal mold, the press molding of the sheet to be continued from that time on so as to be in a prescribed clearance, thereby allows very fine hollow spherical bodies to which the thermal expansion micro capsules in the molded part are expanded so as to be formed, to be uniformly dispersed so as to be formed into a resin molded part for an automobile, weight saving, excellent in soundproofing effect and heat insulating effect.

2. Description of the Related Art Hitherto, the following method has been employed for producing an engine undercover or a transmission cover around an underbody for an automobile. (1) In a vehicle of a passenger car system that has relatively few opportunities such as running on a rough road, the lower side of the vehicle is flattened to reduce aerodynamic drag around the under. These parts have the purpose of preventing water and dust from entering from outside in addition to the purpose of reducing aerodynamic drag. For this reason, it does not require much strength.
An injection molded article made of polypropylene having a size of about 2.0 mm is used. (2) On the other hand, iron plate covers used for RVs, trucks and the like are very heavy. For example, since a cover containing long glass fibers in polypropylene also contains a large amount of long glass fibers, the specific gravity of the material itself is increased to 1.3 to 1.5. In addition, since a certain thickness, for example, 2 to 3 mm, is required in terms of strength, the weight of the injection molded product for passenger cars is 1.5 to 1.5.

On the other hand, a method for obtaining an injection-molded product by using a heat-expandable microcapsule is disclosed in JP-A-9-234.
No. 758. The gist is that injection molding is performed using a polymer material that can be injection-molded and thermoplastic resin heat-expandable microspheres (or a pre-expanded product thereof), so that microsphere balloons are formed in a matrix made of the polymer material. This is a method for producing a foamed injection molded article three-dimensionally and uniformly dispersed.

That is, a method for producing a foamed injection molded product in which thermoplastic resin thermally expandable microspheres (or a pre-expanded product thereof) are uniformly and three-dimensionally dispersed in a matrix made of a polymer material is generally used. It merely describes how to use it purposely, and does not describe how to use it to achieve specific technical advantages. In addition, there is no mention of a technique of using thermally expandable microcapsules for stamping molding as in the present invention.

The reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet 4 is heated to about 150 ° C. to 180 ° C. by an appropriate heater in order to expand the heat-expandable microcapsules, and is pressed by a press to a predetermined clearance. Molded.
During the pressure molding, the once expanded microcapsules 2 are compressed, and the microcapsules in the molded product are uniformly dispersed as fine hollow spheres. When the sheet is heated, the sheet may be heated and softened in the cavity of the mold.

Next, the specific gravity of the resin molded product is compared between the present invention product and the conventional product. The specific gravity of the conventional molded product (cover) is, as described above, a material containing long glass fibers in polypropylene, and the specific gravity of the material itself is as large as 1.3 to 1.5 because of containing many long glass fibers. On the other hand, the sheet 4 of the glass mat reinforced thermoplastic resin used in the present invention has 64 parts by weight of PP (polypropylene), 27 parts by weight of long glass fiber, 3 parts by weight of thermally expandable microcapsules, 6 parts by weight of low melting resin as binder for water-soluble microcapsules (total 10 parts)
(0 parts by weight).
Two were obtained. The reason why the specific gravity is smaller than that of the conventional product is that the thermally expanded microballoons are uniformly dispersed in the molded product.

Next, a case where a resin molded product is applied to an engine undercover will be described. As described above, the engine undercover is required to have not only a function as a strength member but also a function of not emitting sound radiated from the engine to the outside of the vehicle. In particular, it is necessary for the engine undercover to reduce sound emission and sound insulation below the vehicle. By the way, a conventional engine undercover formed of a sheet of glass mat reinforced thermoplastic resin in which a resin such as PP (polypropylene) is impregnated into a glass fiber cloth can obtain a sound insulating effect but lacks a sound absorbing effect.
