Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a fluorescent lamp as an efficient light emitter, to eliminate the waste of power, to make the appearance of the fluorescent lamp look like a bulb from a distance and to make it economical by forming the shape of the tube of the fluorescent lamp into a spiral form so as to allow it to emit an equivalent quantity of light to all the directions except those of a discharge part and an appliance part. SOLUTION: The shape of a power saving bulb type fluorescent lamp is changed into a form capable of providing the same illuminance for its front area and circumference so as to eliminate the waste of light. That is, in order to exert the efficiency of light to the uttermost, the shape of this spiral type fluorescent lamp is changed into a spiral form, and a discharge part 2 is made not outstanding by making the lamp look like a sphere from a distance, so that its unique blackening does not cause an unpleasant feeling even if it becomes old, and it becomes economical because it can be used nearly until the end of its service life. In the case the power saving bulb type fluorescent lamp is replaced with an incandescent lamp or the like, there is nonuniformity of the light amount depending on a direction. Accordingly, additional power as much as around 30% is required for maintaining the same condition even if luminous energy itself is the same. Such a situation is improved by the fluorescent lamp.
