Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighter weight putty composition which decreases a burden of weight during transporting and constructing putty. SOLUTION: A putty composition from an aqueous binder and an extender is obtained by mixing 10-300 pts.wt. of an organic micro balloon with 100 pts.wt. (solid content) of the aqueous binder. The organic micro balloon is preferably an organic lightweight micro balloon having 20-100 μm of diameter and 0.1-0.2 g/cm3 of density and/or an organic foamed fine powder having 40-100 μm of diameter and 0.02-0.05 g/cm3 of density. An inorganic micro balloon may be mixed in the lightweight putty composition provided that the amount thereof is equal to or less than the amount of the organic micro balloon.

2. Description of the Related Art In interior construction work for buildings, finishing is performed to smooth joints such as gypsum board, lightweight cellular concrete board (ALC board), calcium silicate board, cement mortar, plywood, and the like, and defects of coated objects. A work process is performed in which the putty is wrung with a spatula or the like and applied. Usually, a putty composition used for such a purpose has a basic composition of a filler (referred to as an extender) such as calcium carbonate, talc, mica, and clay in an aqueous binder such as an acrylic resin emulsion. It contains additives such as a thickener and a dispersant for improving the properties.

[0003] The finishing putty, because there is a mission to smooth the recess, the number of extender pigment content compared to the paint, density has been a heavy and 1.5~2.0g / cm 3. In recent years, there has been a demand for lightening of various materials by increasing the height of buildings and saving energy, and lightweight building materials such as lightweight gypsum boards, ALC boards, calcium silicate boards, and lightweight concrete blocks have been used. Studies are also being made on reducing the weight of coating materials and putty.

[0005] However, light putties containing these inorganic microballoons are liable to crack or scratch the microballoons during the mixing / dispersion process during production, so that water and other components are immersed in the inner space of the balloon. Inset,
It is also possible that the density of the putty increases over time. Although this putty is considerably lighter than conventional products, it does not sufficiently reduce the weight burden.

Hereinafter, the lightweight putty composition of the present invention will be described in detail. The lightweight putty composition of the present invention contains an organic microballoon (organic fine hollow sphere) as a lightweight filler. Organic microballoons, unlike inorganic microballoons, are flexible and strong,
It is less likely to crack or crack during processing, and if the particles break, the material density is less than half that of the inorganic type, so that the weight of the putty is maintained.

0.2g / cm 3 organic lightweight micro balloon and particle size 4
Organic foamed fine powder (foamed microcapsules) having a density of 0 to 100 μm and a density of 0.02 to 0.05 g / cm 3 is exemplified. Examples of the organic polymer substance used for these organic microballoons include vinylidene chloride-based resin, acrylonitrile-based resin, styrene-based resin, epoxy resin, phenol resin, and urea-formaldehyde resin. In addition, when organic microballoons whose surfaces are coated with inorganic fine powder such as calcium carbonate, talc, and titanium oxide are used, the affinity with the aqueous binder is improved, so that the workability is improved.

This organic microballoon has a particle size of 1
If it exceeds 00 μm, the putty becomes rough and the smoothness of the construction surface is impaired. In addition, the density is 0.
If it exceeds 2 g / cm 3 , it is necessary to mix a larger amount to obtain a lightweight putty composition, which increases the cost.

The organic foamed fine powder has a density of 0.0
Since the density is 2 to 0.05 g / cm 3 , which is an ultralight density of about 1/10 to 密度 as compared with the organic lightweight microballoon, a light weight putty composition can be obtained only by adding a small amount of this. However, it is possible to reduce the weight only with the organic lightweight microballoons, but it is preferable to use both together from the viewpoint of workability.

The mixing ratio of the organic microballoon is preferably about 10 to 300 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the aqueous binder (solid content). When using only ultralight organic foamed fine powder as the organic microballoon, an aqueous binder (solid content) of 100
A weight reduction of about 10 parts by weight with respect to parts by weight is possible.
On the other hand, when an organic lightweight microballoon having a density of about 0.1 to 0.2 g / cm 3 is used, an amount equivalent to or more than the aqueous binder is preferable.

Methyl cellulose was added to ethylene glycol to moisten the methyl cellulose, water was further added, and the mixture was stirred with a despar to dissolve the methyl cellulose. An acrylic resin emulsion, a methylcellulose solution, a dispersant, and an antifoaming agent were charged into a Henschel mixer, and extender pigments, organic microballoons and, if necessary, inorganic microballoons were added and kneaded with stirring. After kneading, a preservative was mixed, water was added to adjust the viscosity, and a putty composition was obtained. For comparison, a putty composition was prepared, in which a conventional filler without blending a lightweight filler and a putty composition in which only an inorganic hollow balloon was blended as a lightweight filler. Table 1 shows the mixing ratio (parts by weight) of the putty composition.

The density of the putty composition obtained was measured. Each putty composition was spatulated on a gypsum board, and the workability, the state of the putty surface (appearance), and the adhesion to the substrate and top coat (emulsion paint) (compared with the conventional product of the comparative example) were observed. Table 1 shows the results. As is clear from Table 1, the lightweight putty composition of the present invention can be reduced by 50% or more than the conventional product (Comparative Example 1), and 20% than the putty composition containing only the inorganic hollow balloon (Comparative Example 2). As described above, it was lightweight, and the workability, appearance, and adhesion were as good as conventional products.
