回折光8と共役な回折光が得られ、前記と若干異なった
配光特性が得られる。 (ニ)本発明のホログラフィック回折格子の製作時の物

なうとニュートンリングの発生を防ぐことができる。上
記の構成に、可干渉性のレーザー光で方向性拡散板1の
透過方向から参照光3を、拡散方向から物体光4を入射
する。方向性拡散板1を透過した参照光と方向性拡散板
1にて拡散された物体光5は、干渉により干渉縞を形成
する。この干渉縞をホログラフィ記録材料2に記録する
ことにより、ホログラフィック回折格子6を製作する。
製作されたホログラフィック回折格子6は、平面拡散物
体の実像をホログラム面上に記録したイメージホログラ
ムと回折格子構造が類似であり、白色光を入射すると、
互いに近接した、波長の異なる回折光の混合により回折
格子面上に白色像が得られる。この白色像はすなわち、
拡散された白色回折光と同じであり、記録時の参照光入
射方向と同方向から白色光を入射すると、記録時の物体
光5の方向に白色回折光8が得られることになる。ま
た、記録時の参照光と共役な方向から白色光を入射する
と、白色回折光8と共役な回折光が得られ、前記と若干
異なった配光特性が得られる。本発明のホログラフィッ
ク回折格子6は回折光が拡散されており、照明配光等に
用いると大変優れた特性を示す。拡散の程度および方向
性は、記録時に用いた方向性拡散板1の特性によって決
まり、方向性拡散板の特性選択により回折格子の拡散特
性を種々変えることができる。また、従来の結像光学系
を用いる方法と異なり、口径の制約を受けないため大型
化が容易である。本発明のホログラフィック回折格子6
の製作時の物体光4の光路に図4の例のように原画フィ
ルム9、投映レンズを設置し、方向性拡散板1上に画像
を結像させると、画像情報やパターンを含むイメージホ
ログラムを製作でき、イメージホログラムの作製方法と
して、従来行なわれてきた2工程にて記録する方法に比
べ著しく容易である。
