【請求項2】 請求項1記載の記憶装置の制御方法において、
前記上位装置から前記記憶装置に対して、前記記憶媒体に対する前記記憶領域の設定方法、および複数の前記記憶領域または前記データの各々に対するアクセス動作について設定すべき前記制限値、の少なくとも一方を指定するコマンドインタフェースを備えたことを特徴とする記憶装置の制御方法。
【請求項3】 請求項1記載の記憶装置の制御方法において、
前記アクセス動作を行わせるために前記上位装置から前記記憶装置に与えられるアクセス命令の各々に、当該アクセス命令にてアクセスされる前記記憶領域における前記制限値を指定するための情報を付随させることを特徴とする記憶装置の制御方法。
【請求項4】 上位装置との間で授受されるデータが格納される磁気ディスクを備えた磁気ディスク装置の制御方法であって、
前記磁気ディスク装置は、前記上位装置と接続するインタフェースを備え前記磁気ディスクに対する前記データの読み出し/書き込みを含むアクセスを制御する磁気ディスク制御装置と、前記データが格納される記憶領域が設定される前記磁気ディスクとを備え、
前記磁気ディスクに設定される複数の前記記憶領域の各々、または前記磁気ディスクに格納される複数種の前記データの各々について、当該記憶領域または当該データに対するアクセス動作の再試行回数およびアクセス所要時間の少なくとも一方の制限値を個別に設定するものであり、
前記上位装置から前記インタフェースで前記磁気ディスク制御装置に対して、前記磁気ディスクに対する前記記憶領域の設定方法、および複数の前記記憶領域または前記データの各々に対するアクセス動作について設定すべき前記制限値、を指定するステップと、
前記磁気ディスク制御装置が、前記上位装置から与えられるアクセス命令に対して前記設定に従って前記アクセス動作を実行するステップとを有することを特徴とする磁気ディスク装置の制御方法。
【請求項5】 上位装置との間で授受されるデータが格納される磁気ディスクを備えた磁気ディスク装置の制御方法であって、
前記磁気ディスク装置は、前記上位装置と接続するインタフェースを備え前記磁気ディスクに対する前記データの読み出し/書き込みを含むアクセスを制御する磁気ディスク制御装置と、前記データが格納される記憶領域が設定される前記磁気ディスクとを備え、
前記磁気ディスクに設定される複数の前記記憶領域の各々、または前記磁気ディスクに格納される複数種の前記データの各々について、当該記憶領域または当該データに対するアクセス動作の再試行回数およびアクセス所要時間の少なくとも一方の制限値を個別に設定するものであり、
前記上位装置が、前記磁気ディスク制御装置に対し与えるアクセス命令の各々に、当該アクセス命令にてアクセスされる前記記憶領域または前記データにおける前記制限値を指定するための情報を付随させるステップと、
前記磁気ディスク制御装置が、前記アクセス命令の各々における前記制限値を指定するための情報を参照して、当該制限値に従って、当該アクセス命令にてアクセスされる前記記憶領域または前記データに対するアクセス動作を実行するステップとを有することを特徴とする磁気ディスク装置の制御方法。
