Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear muscle cylinder which utilizes the force generated from an electromagnet. SOLUTION: An electromagnet C is put in a cylinder 6 made of a weak- magnetic material. Then both ends of the cylinder 6 are sealed with electromagnets A and B and an electric current is made to flow through the electromagnets A, B, and C. When the electric current is made to flow, attracting forces and repulsive forces are generated among the electromagnets A, B, and C, but since the forces are confined in a fixed space, the forces concentrate upon the unfixed electromagnet C. Consequently, the electromagnet C obtains energy for making vertical piston actions.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] These air cylinders and hydraulic cylinders are systems that convert pressure energy obtained from a pressure source into piston motion and use the kinetic energy. However, it is difficult to delicately control the generated force, and since these devices are connected to a pressure source by hoses or pipes, they are easily affected by water pressure, external temperature, atmospheric pressure, and the like. The air cylinder has a very fast forward and backward movement speed, but hardly generates a large force, and the hydraulic cylinder tends to generate a large force, but hardly has the speed of the forward and backward movement. For this reason, these power units are considered to be difficult to use as power sources for multi-legged walking machines currently under research and development in various countries around the world. The present invention has been invented on the assumption that it will be used as a power source for a multi-legged walking machine that will be put to practical use in the future.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The structure of a linear muscle cylinder can be described as follows. (B) Three electromagnets are installed inside a cylindrical object made of a weak magnetic material. These three electromagnets are represented as A, B and C. However, a hole is formed in the center of the electromagnet A. (b) The electromagnets A and B are fixed to both ends of the cylindrical object. (C) The electromagnet C is fixed to one weak magnetic shaft. (D) The diameter of the hole of the electromagnet A need only be slightly larger than the outer diameter of the shaft attached to the electromagnet C. (E) Put the electromagnet C into a cylinder made of the electromagnets A and B. The device is operated as described above.

[Embodiment of the Invention] Next, an embodiment of the present invention will be described. When an electric current is applied to three electromagnets in a cylinder, an attractive force and a repulsive force are generated between the magnets. Because of the confinement, the force will only be concentrated on the electromagnet C which is not fixed. As a result, the electromagnet C gains energy for vertical piston movement. The electromagnet can control the strength of the magnetic force and the direction of the lines of magnetic force by the direction and voltage of the supplied current, so that the speed and force of the piston movement can be easily controlled.

[0006] [Effect of the invention] This cylinder makes it possible to work close to the muscles of living organisms by supplementing the drawbacks of conventional air cylinders and hydraulic cylinders, thus revolutionizing both the field of multi-legged walking machines and medicine. Bring.
