SOLUTION: An optical pickup is fed by the rotation of a lead screw 1 by attaching a feed member to a spring which is to be provided in the pickup and making the member to be in press-contact with the lead screw 1. An optical pickup feeding rate per rotation of the lead screw 1 is made larger by providing plural threads of grooves per one pitch of the screw 1. Moreover, since widths of flat parts of mountains and of valleys are small, the number of revolutions of a motor after the feed member runs on mountains of the lead screw 1 till the member drops to the grooves of the screw 1 is made low. Therefore, the optical pickup can be fed at high speed and a feeding operation can be stabilized.
