【発明の効果】
以上説明したように本発明におけるハウジングは、ポッティング樹脂を充填する凹部の側壁を、本体と一体に成形することができるため、これを用いた中空糸膜モジュールにおいては、その逆洗浄などの際に、中空糸膜の内側からポッティング樹脂を介して前記側壁に力が加わっても、十分に耐え得る強度（耐圧性）が得られる。
このため、本発明の中空糸膜モジュールは、特に、洗浄時などに中空糸膜の内側から大きな圧力がかかりやすい汚濁性の高い液体のろ過に好適である。
また、ハウジングの本体の断面形状をＵ字状とし、その側面の平面に凹部を形成することにより、中空糸膜モジュールの設置に必要なスペースを小さくすることができる。そして、中空糸膜モジュールを複数並列させてユニットを形成する際に、集積効率を向上させることができる。このため、ユニットの大きさの制限を受ける様な場所でのろ過処理に好適である。
さらに、前記本体内部の中空部の断面形状を円形とすることにより、中空部内部にかかる圧力を均一に分散させて、さらにハウジングと中空糸膜モジュールの強度を向上させることができる。
また、ハウジングの凹部の内壁に突起を設けることにより、ハウジングと中空糸膜モジュールの強度をさらに向上させることができる。
また、前記凹部の深さを１〜５０ｍｍ、中空糸膜を挿入する前記スリットの幅を０．３〜５ｍｍに設定することにより、さらに中空糸膜をハウジングに安定に固定することができる。
