このため、本発明の中空糸膜モジュールは、特に、洗浄時などに中空糸膜の内側から大きな圧力がかかりやすい汚濁性の高い液体のろ過に好適である。
また、ハウジングの本体の断面形状をU字状とし、その側面の平面に凹部を形成することにより、中空糸膜モジュールの設置に必要なスペースを小さくすることができる。そして、中空糸膜モジュールを複数並列させてユニットを形成する際に、集積効率を向上させることができる。このため、ユニットの大きさの制限を受ける様な場所でのろ過処理に好適である。
さらに、前記本体内部の中空部の断面形状を円形とすることにより、中空部内部にかかる圧力を均一に分散させて、さらにハウジングと中空糸膜モジュールの強度を向上させることができる。
また、ハウジングの凹部の内壁に突起を設けることにより、ハウジングと中空糸膜モジュールの強度をさらに向上させることができる。
また、前記凹部の深さを1〜50mm、中空糸膜を挿入する前記スリットの幅を0.3〜5mmに設定することにより、さらに中空糸膜をハウジングに安定に固定することができる。
